Stopped in after reading the reviews. We had calamari, clam chowder, halibut fish and chips. All were excellent. Especially enjoyed the pepper jelly with the calamari. We couldn’t pass up homemade pie so we had pecan and it was seriously the most delicious pecan pie I’ve ever had! Family owned and operated business which is a plus. The owner’s daughter was our server and she was very efficient and friendly.

Not a lot of options for Sunday night dining in the Twin Cities. We gave this place a whirl. My Parmesan encrusted halibut was not too shabby. Maybe a little too encrusted as I had to use a knife to cut into it. I am a big fan of tartar sauce and was disappointed. Mostly mayo with a few flecks of relish. You’re hard-pressed to find anything baked here. Another thing that I find discouraging at restaurants are sticky condiments. Their salt and pepper shakers were so gummy it was offputting.

Well if you like Ice tea go there. That was the only thing that was good. The halibut fish and chips were hard and greasy, bucket of clams were served in a soup bowl with wonder bread toast and every bite was like eating sand they were obviously frozen and old and the coleslaw had no flavor what so ever. Corn dog for the youngster was burnt as well .Need I say more !!! Awful !! I told the waiter and all he said was I will tell the cook. At a whooping 50.00 For lunch keep driving !!! Just for the Halibut! Over priced and underwhelmed. My stomach actually hurt after eating here!!! that was after eating a few bites and we left !!

Great food! Fast and great device! Well priced and serving sizes are good! Even on a busy Friday evening! Great for lunch too! Convenient table side cashier. One of our favorite places to eat!

We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it was delicious. The coating they use is nice and crunchy, and a little spicy! I ordered the shrimp Caesar salad. This salad was HUGE; I split it and had it for two meals. My boyfriend ordered the seafood platter and it was delicious. Service was amazing and everyone was very friendly. We will definitely be visiting again!

Probably the BEST prime rib Philly I’ve ever had! Chowder bowl was awesome as well. Friendly staff. Great service. Fast, hot, fresh food. I’m from out of the area but will definitely come back! Loved the décor.

We stopped in here today for some lunch, it was a great little surprise off of the beaten path. The fish was all fresh, and the atmosphere was really cool. Most of their seafood items were all fried. The waitress details of everything was flown in fresh and that the chef and one many awards for the preparation. I had fried halibut fish and chips with fried oysters it was really good but the fried got a little heavy towards the end. If you’re driving from Portland to Seattle I would recommend stopping at this place on the way is a great place for lunch.

A quaint place that I often forget about. Fresh fish and good chowders every time but it’s the deep frying that I can handle only on occasion. Had albacore fish n’ chips with steamed vegetables and a cup of clam chowder. The fish was fresh and plentiful, and delicious as was the chowder. Veggies were over cooked and not much on the plate. Was also surprised at the very small tartar that came with a large portion of fish.

Freddie’s used to be one of my favorites but I have been utterly unimpressed the last couple of tries. The fish pieces were small and greasy, the fries were almost nonexistent. The chicken strips my daughter ordered were just gross, over breaded, and terrible taste. Consistency is a key to a good restaurant and Freddie’s has become dramatically inconsistent. Based on fairly high prices, paired with inconsistent and decreasing quality I couldn’t recommend this place to anyone anymore. I hope that changes occur and improvements are made.

Awesome. Fresh, large portions, not over fried, lots of fishy pieces. I’ll be back for sure. Great value and quality.

Last night we drove to Freddys For The Halibut from La Center and the power was out. The owner met us in the parking lot and told us they were closed! We had no idea and when we told him we came from out of town he told us he’d be happy to feed us! We ordered chowder and halibut fish n chips. Both were delicious! Such great seafood. If you haven’t tried this place –go ! It’s fabulous! Thanks Gleeann, Fred and family. We’ll be back soon

I really wish I could recommend this place, because their seafood IS really good. The service I received wasn’t particularly attentive or friendly — not rude, just super bare bones. The atmosphere of the whole place was weirdly gloomy. It was cold(64, according to the thermostat right by my table), the employees seemed really discontent, and the other diners seemed to be having about as good a time as I wasn’t. It’s really a shame, because the fish and prawns I had were clearly good, fresh seafood, but everything else makes it impossible to recommend a visit.

We were looking for seafood, and I was hunting specifically for fish tacos. The place was relatively clean and inviting for a casual seafood place, wait staff was pleasant. Menu was pretty big, which can be a plus or minus. Food was plentiful and pleasantly presented. While I found the fish tacos unimpressive, they weren’t bad, just unimpressive, mostly because I have been on a hunt for real good ones. The shrimp bisque was pretty good, and many of the other dishes that went by looked inviting. We would absolutely return should we find ourselves in Longview during mealtime again. There were plenty of things in that menu that would probably impress me.

We fell for the cutesy name! When we first walked in, some guy was like«oh, here comes some new people.» Everyone looked up at us, kinda made us feel uncomfortable. While we waited for our food, 4 of the employees talked loudly about how bored they were and how they didn’t get enough hours. They were swearing and trash talking the place, so again we felt uncomfortable. Despite our waitress being bored, she didn’t stop by to see if we liked our food or if I needed a re-fill. We watched as they forgot to give some guy his soup in the take out he ordered. I expected the food to be kind of mediocre. I mean, a fish joint in a small town? I am fine with the idea of it being mediocre because I’m going for the novelty of it. But it was less than mediocre. The halibut n chips looked like little fish sticks you gwt from a box. Oh well, I should have known better!

Clam chowder is great, but as a sidenote, it is made with bacon. I ordered the Seafood Fettucine and my husband ordered the Calamari Dinner. The bathroom is a tad dated. The Seafood Fettucine tasted about average and the portion and contents did not amount to the price being charged. You can tell how big the spoon was compared to the entire plate. The sauce was very dry and thick. The toast that came with it was hardly«toasted» and was stale in some bites. My husbands meal was pretty good. It came with a sweet chili sauce. Overall, this place was ok, but definitely not for a $ 45 lunch… Service was great though.

I rarely write a negative review, but I am so disappointed I feel compelled. 6 coworkers and myself went for lunch. We sat down immediately, drinks came quickly… then nothing. Apparently there was a yelling argument between staff that everyone at my table but myself heard. We then waited-at lunch mind you– for at least 12 minutes before anyone came to take our orders. We were seated at 12:15 and didn’t get our food until close to 1. Inexcusable at the lunch hour. In addition, another guest was seated, ordered, ate, and left before we got our food. On to the food– high remarks for the halibut and chips, the chowder, the tuna melt, an oyster side, and the burger looked fine. I of course had none of those. I ordered the open faced crab melt sandwich, with potatoe salad for a side. The potatoe salad was from scratch and was okay, if a little bland. Nothing special, but points for not being Reesers. Pepper did the trick. The sandwich though? 17.95 should get you more than that. Presentation left something to be desired, as two obviously bland(and cheap) tomato slices took center stage. Turn off. If you are going to display the tomatoes, get them at a farmers market! Otherwise put them under the meat and cheese. Next gripe, size. It was on a piece of, i believe, ciabatta bread. Good bread, but not a big piece. It was in the vacinity of 3 inches by 6 inches, open faced, one piece. Now to the meat. It wasn’t evenly distributed, and there wasn’t a lot of it. One side of the bread had cheese but no crab. And the crab itself was quite bland, like it had been washed while shelling, taking the flavor right along with it. Considering I did get a nice bite of shell at one point, the washing didn’t do enough good, only hurt the flavor. The cheese at least was melted and tasty, but all in all I have rarely been as disappointed and frustrated at the price/presentation of a menu item. If the sandwich was 11 dollars, I still would have grumbled. It wasn’t even a 10 dollar sandwich. For 17.95, I’d be embarrassed to offer that in my menu. Finally, the bathroom was… less than clean, and the urinal didn’t really flush well. Despite the yelling issues between themselves, the servers were nice, even if the service wasn’t acceptable. I went to LCC in the 90s, and while back here for work I have been impressed by several restaurants that aspire to be better than the image I had of Longview. This, on the other hand, fell into the old trappings of the town.

Family wanted to do a restaurant review(hmmm wonder if they have had too many home cooked meals lately for dinner). Tuna Melt — was really good but the clam chowder in the bread bowl was delish! The halibut fish and chips won first prize in my mind. Service was quick and attentive.

This place is a gem. Who would think one of the best seafood places I have ever eaten at would be in the middle of a river town an hour from the ocean. All the seafood is fresh and cooked well. My brother in law is from Texas and whenever he visits the first thing he asks is if the seafood place is still open. It is his favorite seafood in the USA. One less star for price but near perfect.

After a long morning and afternoon house hunting with a realtor my Mom and I were very hungry and started heading for a usual haunt when we spied Freddy’s. I pulled out the Droid and checked my handy Unilocal App to find great reviews so we turned around and went back. The place looks a little cliché from the outside but it’s not over the top and once inside the set up is clean with plenty of tables. A friendly server allowed us to pick the table of our choice which was nice because I have a knee scooter and need to keep my leg up so I could find the perfect seat. We spied the menu but knew that we were trying the fish and chips and sharing a bowl of clam chowder. The server was so nice, noticing my wound dressing she asked if I had dietary restrictions and offered to make sure my food was prepared so I could eat it. I had none but I was damned impressed she thought to offer. Drinks arrived quickly and the food was up impressively fast. We both went for the Cod Fish & Chips, mine medium and Mom’s was small. Glad I didn’t get the large, that would have been a lot even for me. Golden brown fish along side golden brown fries with lots of tartar sauce and some very tasty cole slaw. The fish was not greasy, the coating was seasoned and not too heavy. The fries were crispy with perfect creamy insides. There is a lot to look at while you eat and the server came back a few times to see how we were. I was very very impressed with Freddy’s. If Mom buys a house up here this will become a favorite of mine long with Stuffys II.

Tried this place for our family date night. We have lived up this way a few years now and it’s about time we start exploring the food establishments. We had a great time because we were together not because of the food. Customer service was great. The waitress never brought our waters but oh well. The food was average nothing spectacular. So the bill at the end of the night was shocking! Too expensive for the quality of food. When it was time to pay the bill they brought the machine to the table and it had preselected tips; 18, 22, and 24%. Wow! They think highly of themselves. So sadly the impression we are walking away with is over priced mediocre food.
