Place is certainly laid back but maybe too much. They don’t do a good job with their Wednesday Golf n’ Grill. Used to be a treat I looked forward to. Now the food and service have gone downhill and they run completely out of the side dishes before paid customers are fed. This last experience has happened multiple times with me and my friends. Since nothing’s changed after a number of visits, I’ve come to the conclusion they don’t give a hoot… Regretfully, I won’t be back.

Great for beginners and 30-something’s. It’s a short 9-hole golf course with a laid back atmosphere, beautiful scenery, quiet area, fantastic driving range, and great burgers and tunes on Wednesday nights.

We had an absolute blast here. It’s a hidden gem for sure. Perhaps its not the most well manicured, but the friendly and relaxed environment is fantastic. Fully intend to return again and again.

I play a lot of golf and was in boulder with my family and couldn’t find a place to practice with a driving range that wasn’t closed due to heavy rains. I found Haystack Mountain. The range is very nice off grass with lots of targets. I come from the city and it was nice to hit balls without the city noise. The chipping/putting area is right next to a river and was very nice for a family opened 9 hole course. Overall if you are in town and looking for a place to practice corm to Haystack mountain.

If you’re just getting into the game of golf, then this place is for you. I’m fortunate that it’s 5 minutes from where I work. There’s no need to go into Haystack afraid of that«holier than thou» attitude that you find at many golf courses. It’s not like that at all. What used to be a farm some 40 years ago has become one of the area’s jewels for those who want to work on their game without worrying about if they look like Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson when they step out of their gas-guzzling SUV’s. I go alot to work on driving the ball and I’ve played a few rounds here as well. The laid back atmosphere helps you to concentrate on every aspect of the game of golf. Playing a few rounds here is a great way to get comfortable with playing on other courses. It’s challenging enough for a beginner or an intermediate and there’s no one to rush you along with play. if a group catches up to you, just simply allow them to play through. No harm, no foul. There’s also no need for reserving tee times, just show up sign in at the desk and play. And the fees are very low for a round, ranging from $ 10-$ 15. They do also offer lessons for all ages, both public and private. And when you’re done with your round, go to the clubhouse and have a bite to eat or a beer and relax inside or out on the screened in porch. There is also a retail shop inside as well. Haystack offers alot in it’s little package.

A great place to take your beginner friends for their first 9-holes! This is a very easy and short course without the stereotypical snooty golf aura. It’s walking only, and there’s no course attendant around to rush your pace of play. In fact, there’s rarely a need to rush as, if there are better golfers behind you, they know full well where they are and will simply play multiple balls. The driving range is probably more popular than the actual course as it’s well marked for yardage and one plays off the grass instead of those rock-hard synthetic mats. Once again, a great place for a beginner, and not a bad place to tune your swing for the more experienced golfer.
