I thought the food was very very good but I think the service could have been better. For example our waiter kept spilling water all over the place which made a big mess, and smiles were scarce, but the waitress giving us our seats was ok, as was the bus and exped service and the man who seemed to be the manager/owner. Carbonara pasta was critically short on ham/pancetta but was very tasty. Pesto was amazing. Homemade pasta too as A+. Everything is really great quality and the place is good looking, but I think the service, professionalism and enthusiasm needs a boost before this becomes a cornerstone place in the neighborhood and a destination in itself.

Loved all the food here, especially their pasta dishes. Service and hospitality is top notch. Definitely try their Amalfi style pizzas. They have a happy hour special from 5pm to closing that features $ 1 oysters.

I absolutely adore this restaurant– even before the relaunch! My husband and I had our engagement party here and the staff was so amazing! The food was delicious then and still is! When we were there a few weeks ago, we were greeted by I believe the owner. He was an incredibly friendly and even helped entertained our son during the meal. This is hands down a family friendly restaurant so make this place a destination. We started with the $ 1 special oysters!!! Those bluepoints were amazing! Then ordered a pizza, osso buco special and the scallops special. Everything was prepared and cooked to perfection. The wine selection is exquisite!

I am lucky to have this as a neighborhood go to only two blocks away from our apartment but I would recommend it as a destination for anyone from Manhattan to Brooklyn. They actually do their pasta in house and you can tell. Excellent pasta options. Terrific fresh ingredients. Oysters are top notch as well. For $ 1 happy hour they are an absolute steal. Great interior, sophisticated but welcoming. Personable service all around.

As a resident of the neighborhood i pass this restaurant everyday. Finally decided to go for a quick date night on a friday night. Restaurant was almost empty, assuming because it is fairly new and they don’t have many fans yet. Fortunately for us that meant very attentive service. totally get the feel of authentic Italian food and atmosphere. The owners were chatting in Italian the whole time! :) Do not let the emptiness of the restaurant fool you — the food was very tasty and nice big portions. we ordered the prosciutto pizza and one of the spaghetti dishes. both were great and made for perfect leftovers too! Will definitely be going back for taste and convenience!

Yesterday night I ordered a decaf coffee and they gave me a regular coffee. I spent the night awake! If they would have told me they didn‘t have decaf coffee I had order something else. no need to tell lies to you customers!!!

will not order from here again. I wish we were allowed to add photos here. we ordered caprese salad… there were 3 slices of cheese(the best part) and 3 slices of the worst, boring tasting tomatoes ever and literally one basil left for the entire thing. A total rip off. The pizza was ok but really small for $ 20 when there are others near by for same price bigger and taste better… the lasagna had a meat sauce that wasn’t bad but the pasta did not taste home made or if it was it was pretty weak. Sadly disappointed by this place.

High quality food and good service; the acting manager was very attentive to all tables. Went with a group and ordered few pies, pasta dish, and few appetizers and everything was delicious and tasted fresh. Highly recommend and would definitely go back if in area again.

Great atmosphere, love the décor and feel of the place. Came in for lunch during the week– the place was pretty much empty. Ordered a ginger martini, and it was excellent! Refreshing. Also ordered the pesto pizza. Pizza was good, nothing special. Waiter told us it was sized for two people, but it is definitely only for one. At the end of our meal, the owners and servers were chatting at a table a few feet away. They were so engrossed in their convo that we had to get up, walk over, and interrupt them just to get the check. Service was sub-par and food was just okay. Seems like a great place to have a large dinner or gathering, as they had many separated tables and spaces!

Absolutely delicious. Every dish we ordered tasted fresh and amazing! Very rare that a restaurant has every dish that tastes great. We got the calamari, the sausage & broccoli rabe pizza, maccheroni tuna, and lam chops. Pretty comparable to the meals I’ve had from when I visited Italy! So apparently the delicious pizza is Almafi style rather than the typical Neapolitan style that we usually get in NY. What’s diff. is that the pizza is cooked evenly so that it’s the same texture throughout. Unlike other NYC pizzas, it’s not soft in the middle and then hard at the crust. The Maccheroncini tuna is amazing! Loved the fresh/chewy homemade pasta with mild spicy tuna & sauce! A MUST get. Also another amazing one is the Lamb chops! The meat is so tender and flavorful

The ambience and décor of the place completes the Italian restaurant image. It was very neat and clean inside. However, I felt there was nothing special about the food. I tried the gnocchi, tirimisu and the coffee. The gnocchi was very hard; the tomato sauce and the tirimisu tasted like it was prepackaged. The coffee had a very, very burnt taste to it. It was unpleasant to drink from. When I bit into the breadsticks, I gave a chuckle because I felt like it could chip my front teeth. I would come back and try their happy hour. But as for the regular menu, I would probably skip. I didn’t think the quality of the food justified the price.

I will keep this review short and sweet. Came in on a Sunday afternoon for the $ 1 oysters. The oysters were on point even though they were Bluepoint(terrible joke). The bartender was very friendly and had good recommendations with pizze and cocktails.

This place probably has become my fav restaurant in this neighborhood! Not to mention the $ 1 raw oyster and clam deal during happy hours! I’ve tried different pasta dishes before and they were all pretty good and in good portion as well(not sure if that was when they were under a different name tho). I wanted to try something different and ordered the oxtail last time. The meat just fell from the bone and melted in my mouth and the portion was huge! Sometimes the service can be a bit slow though, but I’ll still come back to try different dishes.

The reincarnation of the restaurant Testaccio(full disclosure: I never went.) Really good, server was hamming it up with the Italian thing but hooked us up with great food. I had the oxtail stew and she had the porcini ravioli. The porcini ravioli blew us away. No other sort of mushroom preparation we’ve ever had has tasted like that. Obviously it was denser than just having the whole mushrooms in there because it was ground up into ravioli. Whatever magic went in there was amazing. It is not normal. Try it today. The oxtail was just ok, but the portion was amazing. There was a baby’s head of mashed potatoes next to three giant sections of oxtail. It needed to simmer just a bit longer. Overall I had a great time and would come back. It seems very authentic.

When we walked into Tutti Matti not long after it opened and saw Luigi, who formerly ran PizzArte in Manhattan, we knew we were in good hands. This is a real southern Italian restaurant, mostly napoletano and amalfitano. In fact, above the wood-burning forno there’s a motto proclaiming that the pizzas are made according to «la tradizione amalfitana.» The pizzas are excellent, somewhat firmer than the Neapolitan version but basically the same thing. The antipasti are beautifully presented, perfectly prepared, and generous in portion size. The fried seafood antipasto can feed two easily. We also loved the porchetta salad with chickpeas and the grilled calamari with a salad of fennel and rughetta. I’d give Tutti Matti five stars except for the fact that the wine list is skimpy, and needs more southern Italian selections. But we’ll keep going back(we’ve been three times in the past few weeks) because the food is excellent. Benevenuto a Long Island City, Tutti matti!

First time here, was excited to have another solid pizza provider in the hood. Came in on a Sunday afternoon and seated right away, not busy at all. Had the sausage & mushroom pizza while wifey had the nutella french toast. They also honored the $ 1 happy hour oysters & clams an hour early(4 instead of 5pm) so they get points for that. Bummer they only had bluepoints tho. As for my pizza, i probably wouldn’t come back for that. For $ 18 it was light on the toppings and pretty small… four mini slices. See attached pic… where’s the sausage? Better options like manducatis for brick oven and sLICe for nyc style. Wifey’s french toast was ok, nothing worth raving about. Raw oysters/clams were fresh(clams a bit small even for littlenecks). Staff was friendly and the atmosphere is cool, nothing really changed from the former establishment aside from the name and some staff as menu stayed intact. Check testaccio reviews.

This place is great. Large portions, fairly priced, nice atmosphere. Came with a party of six and we all got something different and shared — three different pizzas, two pastas, and a calzone and everything was delicious. Food came out quickly, and the gin limoncello was well made. Excited to come back and try more dishes.

Came in because of the oyster happy hour. $ 1 oyster and neck clams every Thursday through Sunday after 5pm The pacherri alla genovese was delicious. Cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe was a little bland. Waiter spoke Italian and provided attentive service A nice addition to the neighborhood.

Fabulous marinara pizza with thin crust and slight char. My companion really enjoyed their housemade maccheroni with seafood too. Very authentic Italian food in a warm, casual setting. I can’t wait to go back!

I visited with a couple of friends. We used to love coming to Testaccio. They must have remodeled the interior is awesome. The service was just ok. The food was overpriced the portions are very small and the price from food to wine was ridiculous. I had to go eat after this. There are way to many great Italian restaurants in LIC. I WILLNOTBERETURNING. The restaurant was empty not like in the past What happened here?

This has been a favorite of ours since it was Testaccio(now redecorated and a shuffled management team, but recognizably the same restaurant). Real Roman cuisine with more of a point of view than most of the local Italian places. Walk past the bar and there’s a surprisingly large seating area in the rear. Great pizzas turned out by the wood-fired cement oven(you can watch it go in from a lot of the tables), homemade pasta, and assorted Roman specialties. A very pleasant place to have dinner and so far relatively undiscovered – don’t be put off by it not being crowded, it’s worth it. I’ve tried almost all of the Italian restaurants along this stretch of Vernon Ave., and this is consistently my favorite of them.

Tutti matti is incredible. The service is top notch and the food is absolutely delicious. Fresh and nothing shy of superb. It’s rare to find that place that offers a beautiful atmosphere with amazing food and personable staff. Ask for luigu At the door — he will see to it that you have a fantastic dining experience. Bön appetit !

Have been to this new restaurant twice now. Both times have been excellent. Staff very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. First visit I had the braised oxtail — delicious. Second time I had a pasta dish and again wasn’t disappointed. Definitely was of our favorite places in LI(and there are a lot). There is only one downside, and it’s not a big deal but the wine is expensive. The wine is good though and I suppose that what’s you’re paying for.

I attended this restaurant when it was Testaccio. Nothing particularly special about the restaurant however the service was great. I had spaghetti bolognase and it was fine. I would definitely check it out since they seemed to have renovated and moved.

Well I guess I can say now this is one my top five spots in NY. I have been there a few times now and I was told that they would improve things and they were not lying after a few closed days they really have spruced up the décor but more importantly the menu. Vernon Blvd in LIC has a lot of places to go but if you haven’t try the newly renovated Tutti Matti(old Testaccio) you don’t know what you have been missing not only they have an amazing pizza they also have changed their menu and added the oyster bar(absolutely my favorite!) Their wine list is also really good, but my favorite drink is the Aperol Spritz. The atmosphere is very inviting and people are always very nice. They also can accommodate large parties which is great for family and friends gatherings. Their pork ossobuco is fantastic too, they have in house pasta dishes not to be missed. I could go on an on. It’s a must! Don’t miss out on the $ 1 happy hour oysters.

I visited Tutti Matti with two friends early Saturday evening and had a great time. I ordered the Diavalo pizza and cleaned my plate… this pizza is the real deal– authentic Italian. The atmosphere complimented the experience– good lighting, exposed brick, comfortable room at the table and wonderful hospitality. I’m sure I’ll be back soon and would definitely recommend to friends!

One of LIC’s new hidden gems. We came here for a date and were treated like family. The place exudes ambience. Sort of a modern twist on a rustic Italian kitchen kind of feel. Very clean, with a warm, friendly, and inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay there and eat pizza and drink wine all night. The food was excellent. We got the veal meatballs, the mushroom ravioli, and the verace pizza. Each thing was better than the next. Fresh ingredients bursting with flavor. The service was outstanding. Our waiter kind of spoke to us here and there in Italian and it made the experience feel super authentic. The restaurant staff was very attentive and friendly. Overall, just a solid little Italian kitchen with great ambience, excellent food, and amicable service. We will be coming back.
