I like their ramen but I am not too crazy about it. It does taste a little better than regular ramen. Most of the time, I find myself really thirsty after I visited this place.

It was ok. The ramen was not as flavorful as we were expecting. Given we had just been to Japan I think we may have been expecting to much. But the broth was not salty enough or very rich. We both felt that something was missing. Would try it again.

Really solid place in LIC, especially if you don’t care for the 2 hour lines at Mu Ramen. Good, fast service. The broth variety is good, as well as the many options offered for rice bowls and sides(gyoza, tempura, agedashi tofu, vegetables, etc). You can get more noodles for $ 2. Beware of the spicy miso(Kara miso) — they make their own spicy sauce and it’s got a serious kick!

Went on a weekday night. No waiting time. Lucky for me, as the place was full when I left. Overall: Good if you’re in the area and craving ramen. If you’re looking for a spectacular one though, this may not be it. Food: Veggie Miso Ramen($ 10 – 12) Broth was pretty good, but somehow lacking. It was pretty well rounded and tasted complete, but wasn’t amazing. Broth from Misoya at East Village is a lot better. As for the noodles, I like slurping long and bouncy noodles. Their noodles were short, but they were bouncy. Ambiance: Standard ramen shop interior. Square, relatively small tables. Props to them as it wasn’t as cramped as other places where you have to move the table in order to squeeze to the inner seat. Service: My server was cheerful and refilled my water regularly.

The LIC food scene is alive and well with the addition of Tamashii Blue. Although prior to coming here, I had no knowledge of their other location, all I had to go by was their Unilocal reviews. This was one aspect I somewhat ignored and went by a good friend’s recommendation and very glad I did based on their selection of tapas and ramen. 4.7÷5.0 I was slightly under the weather but was not prepared to any waiting. We walked in at 8pm on a weekday and scored a table within five minutes. How awesome is that? Ambiance is warm, dark, yet inviting, and typical of ramen houses I’ve patroned in the city. The restaurant was expectedly packed for LIC and Vernon Blvd. They have quite a number of choices on their menu, but I was interested in something spicy, and so went with Kara Miso Ramen. As was told by my friend, their tapas are really good, and I couldn’t help to resist ordering potato croquettes! I love my carbs and find many places do not get this simple appetizer right. As fate would have it, the croquettes came out hot and lightly fried well. Tasty as I remembered and not oily. Def. home run to start off my meal. When the ramen arrived, presentation was top notch, atypical of top ramen places, the broth was spicy-ish, yet flavorful. Needless to say, I finished my bowl. The charshu had nice slivers of fat, but I’m not one to complain.(Other people might take issue, maybe) Overall, quick, simple, to the point, good service, and worthy of your dollars. They are, by no means, any more or less expensive than the city. This is why they deserve to be your go-to for daily hot soupy noodle grub. 4.7÷5.0

I went here yesterday after mu said it was an hour wait at 6:15. No wait here. We ordered the tantanmen ramen, Kara miso ramen, Kara tsukemen, and takoyaki. The noodle soups were pretty decent. To my surprise, they all tasted quite different. Tantanmen tasted really peppery. Kara miso tasted like standard spicy ish ramen(wasn’t really spicy) and tsukemen broth had a slight sour taste to it. I wasn’t sure if my tsukemen without onions and scallions was supposed to come with pork. I searched high and low for it but nope, not there. Now that I’m checking the menu at home, I feel cheated. So… minus 1 star. There were only 5 – 6 toppings and I asked for 2 off and actually missed 3… my protein! The disappointment is real. Takoyaki was okay. I’m also sad we didn’t get offered mochi like the tip said(saw it afterwards) since I had to go hunt for my own dessert afterwards. Overall, decent ramen. It’s not my go to place since there’s much more to explore and some places are much better. Plus, I’m still thirsty and it’s been 12+ hours.

Note: This review is for take-out only — though they did seem very attentive for the time I was in the(cozy) restaurant. The arrival of actual winter weather got me in the mood for some ramen and heard this place opened up recently and they allow for delivery and take-out(something Mu Ramen doesn’t go for, for better or worse). I opted for the pork buns and the Champon — a seafood medley with a spicy broth. The pork buns had a nice sauce, the buns were very soft and delightful — there could have been a bit more pork, but $ 6.50 for 2 is a pretty decent deal for what you get. Then again, after having Momofuku buns… standards are set. The champon, a «Spicy seafood noodle soup made with special tamashii suace. Toppings are mixed seafood, bean sprouts, cabbage, onion, scallion, egg, and bokchoy», was fantastic. Lots of seafood(mussels, shrimp, octopus, squid), a great spice to the very savory broth(thankfully — wasn’t feeling the thai-masochistic burn this time out). Overall, less hoity toity than Mu Ramen, but still really good stuff and a nice addition to the neighborhood. Mo’ ramen, no problems.

Place can be a long wait during dinner time, but definitely worth it. Food option is amazing and the staff members are attentive. Food was cooked perfectly and the price was not bad for a location liked this. Wish the place had more seating and a bit more spacious, but definitely coming back to try other things on the menu!

I am new to the neighborhood and got a cold my first week. For this reason I got to tour all the noodle places in neighborhood. On my first visit I decided to live it up and tried the Chicken Curry. The broth was flavored wonderfully. Noodles cooked al dente. The chicken — fried and wonderful. Luckily I was able to control myself and take half of it home to enjoy the next day. Upon the next visit I tried the Chasyu ramen. I didn’t love it quite as much as I loved the Chicken Curry but it was still pretty good… especially at the end when I really got to taste the spices that fell to the bottom of the broth. I am looking forward to coming back and trying more of the soups.

Great food at very reasonable prices. I had the seafood ramen which had a good amount of seafood and a very tasty broth for only 12.95. Good sized portion as well. Only negative was it was full when we arrived at 9 pm on a Wednesday night but I guess that shows the good value you are getting.

Came here for dinner. I didn’t have ramen. Honestly I didn’t think it was that good. Maybe if I have had the ramen instead. We had the potato dumplings, too sweet for my taste The Katsu chicken was pretty unspectacular too, the salad was really cold, and the Katsu cold, made for an odd combination. I also had the shrimp bun, I’ve only had buns once before, but I thought they were delicious, this didn’t live up to the standard. I think all the ingredients were there, but there was something amiss. They gave us free edamame with our meal, that was very nice :) Overall I think I would give them another try, I feel that maybe ramen was the way to go here

Came here for the first time with a friend around lunchtime. The place is kind of small, not many seats, but we were seated right away when we came in. I ordered the Miso Ramen. The food was just okay, nothing too special. I had better ramen elsewhere.

I really enjoyed the food here, had edamame and pork buns to start and then Katsu with egg. Staff were really nice and the restaurant is all shiny and new still. The restaurant was full, so we were knew we were onto something good. I would visit here again, but would definitely try something different as I really missed the curry sauce with my Katsu, although it was nice to try something new.

Location: It was my first visit to Long Island City, pretty terrified. Why? I don’t know. I guess it’s because all the rumors about how bad Queen neighborhood was from my dad or my dad’s friends. But when you get off the subway, you do feel a little bit sad and creepy around the street. Tamashii Blue was modern and little bit off the chart from the creepy, sad street. It drew my attention only because of the name –ramen. Food: I had veggie ramen. Broth is tasteless and bland. But veggies with mushrooms are fresh. Noodles are al right. I do not think I enjoyed it very much. Service: very welcoming and pleasant. Although there were tiny and limited spot to seat, with their passionate service, I do enjoy stay there a little bit. Overall: I guess, the food is very average compared other Japanese ramen resturants. But maybe it’s a good one around LIC area. 3 stars

I was walking to a friends apartment in Long Island City and stumbled on this place out of hunger. I was glad I did, I must say while I like LIC it can certainly use some more places like this. The staff was friendly, knew the menu well and checked on the guests every few minutes, something I always appreciate. The food is good. I ordered the Edamame which was good, then again I’ve never had bad edamame it’s kinda hard to mess that up lol I also ordered the Champon Extra Spicy ramen which is a seafood ramen with a half boiled egg. The broth was rich, the seafood was good and the ramen itself was good. The spicy stuff came on the side which I prefer so I can add spices as I like it. It’s not the best ramen in the city but definitely the best in Long Island City. The only reason I’m not rating this place 5 stars is because I’ve had better ramen in NYC however in LIC, this is the best so far.

I guess just the fact that there’s a ramen alternative in LIC now(MU Ramen being the first choice) made us want to come out and wait 30 mins for a table at Tamashii Blue. Or maybe we were hopeful enough to think that LIC will be better than Astoria’s Tamashii. It’s not. Mediocre ramen. Nothing to rave about whatsoever. The appetizers however were fabulous. I love how their Okonomiyaki have shrimp in it. Very good. The Karaage is pretty much on point. Not the best but it the worst. Service is nice and quick. Still a great addition to LIC’s food scene. And they do deliveries too. Not too bad. Not bad at all.

As a huge fan of Tamashii in Astoria, I was stoked when I saw a second store opened up in Long Island City. I came here for lunch on a Saturday shortly after 1:30pm and had to wait approximately 10 minutes for a table for two people. Not bad. We ordered the okonomiyaki as appetizer, I ordered the champon, and my husband had the kara miso ramen. There is a lunch special on selected ramens Monday through Saturday from 11am-4pm, which is nice. The okonomiyaki was very tasty. It actually tastes almost just like their takoyaki balls, only in a pancake form and with shrimp. My champon was disappointing. I LOVED it in Astoria but I found the broth here to be more much lighter and watered down. It just didn’t strike me like it did. It didn’t have that potent smokey seafood taste. Sad. The kara miso ramen was very good and flavorful. Order that. Restaurant appears to be Korean-owned. The entire waitstaff were friendly and provided excellent service.

I am glad to see that the restaurant is finally open. After reading the reviews of the Tamashii in Astoria, there are a lot of things to look forward to. With great anticipation, I finally came in for lunch. When I entered, I notice that it is a packed house. I was able to find a seat on the bar area. It seated roughly 22 people and it’s overall very small in term of space. From I seen and heard from my colleagues, this place can be a hit or miss with lunch traffic. Today, it was packed and several people had to wait. At the end of my lunch, it was quite empty. If you are coming in a large group, you might want to avoid busy lunch hours(12−1pm). If you are sitting at the bar, you will have direct air condition bouncing off the wall. It’s a noticeable draft of the air, but since this is a warm day, I didn’t mind it. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen. During lunch hours, it’s discounted and it’s price at $ 8.95. Any ramen under $ 10 is great deal in my books. After trying the broth and ramen, I felt the broth was a smidge too salty– Want to say it is the soy sauce. The broth didn’t have enough of the ‘body’ that I prefer. I thought the pork was lean and bit dry for my liking. I know I am nit picking here. It’s overall a good broth. Just might not be great! The ramen was good and since I still had extra broth, I got a second order of just the ramen(Kaedama!!- $ 2). I received good service. The waitress were very busy and very courteous to all the customers. They might not have all the kinks worked out for the lunch rush, but they put in a great deal of effort. I would rate the food at 3.5 stars so far but when you consider it is $ 8.95, you can’t beat that price. I’m eager to taste the other ramen offerings that they have in store.

LIC welcomes another ramen and Japanese spot to the neighborhood. I’ve visited the location in Astoria before and can say it’s pretty consistent. However, consistently underwhelming when it comes to ramen. I ordered the tantanmen and this was incredibly spicy. It’s usually supposed to be spicy ground pork with regular broth but this was like a bowl of lava. I can usually handle the spice so as long as the broth is good, but it wasn’t. The noodles doesn’t have a bounce and the flavor just wasn’t there. And they place broccoli in their ramen? Eh. However, the appetizers were great. The Okanamoyaki was good. Best part was having shrimp in it. The Karage was fried nicely and tasted great with the side of Japanese mayo. We waited 35 minutes for a table which wasn’t terrible. It’s a 20 seater so you can expect some kind of wait. Good ramen isn’t cheap and cheap ramen isn’t good. You get what you pay for. If you want to walk out satisfied, I’d rather walk a couple blocks down to Mu Ramen and have their Tonkatsu or Spicy Miso.
