After a meal at John Brown’s smoke house, my boyfriend and I decided we still wanted more food. Came across this pizza joint, it was very clean inside and had modern décor for a pizza place. I ordered the margarita pizza and my boyfriend had the grandma slice. The pizza was good, very similar to other pizza places. $ 3 dollar a slice seemed a bit steep for NY slice pizza. But it was a tasty slice. If you check in you get a free small drink, and they even offer free refills!

Always delicious pizza, friendly staff! Probably the best pizza I tried in NYC. Highly recommended. Outdoor terrace is very convenient and calm place to be in summer time

I recently placed an order for 1 pizza, for delivery. I live within 10 minutes of the restaurant(walking distance) Order was placed at 8:42pm on a Tuesday night. According to the confirmation email, the«order is estimated to arrive within 30 – 45 minutes(at today 21:12PM ~ 21:27PM)». While some delay could be expected due to high demands, I was disappointed when the pizza had not arrived by 9:50pm. I called the restaurant to let them know the situation, but they were not very responsive to the situation. I would not order here again given the long wait time and the less than stellar customer service. As far as the pizza itself(I’ve had a slice there previously), it’s probably a 3⁄5 in comparison to other pizzas in NY

Came here since we were in the area and we didn’t want anything too heavy. When we walked in they were making a few pies. I was happy to see that because I HATE reheated pizza. The service was fast and friendly. I got a regular slice and it was good, you cant beat a freshly made pizza slice yumm. The establishment looked clean and very modern. They also had huge TVs which were playing sports programs for the guys.

What a cute little spot! Popped in after a nearby event with lots of drinking to keep the hangover away. Was greeted, assisted & given my pizza rather quickly given the line was now forming out the door. Lots of seating for a pizza spot & a very nice clean bathroom! The ambiance is A1. Pizza was good, traditional NY slice. Would def get again.

I came here after an event near by to have a slice since it was late and I didn’t want to have a whole meal. The pizza was good and the service was fast. I was very impressed by how clean this place was which is always its a great thing.

For a place with as few pizza options as Long Island City(seriously what’s up with that?), sLICe was sorely needed. The quality is definitely higher than your standard dollar slice, which is probably why the price is as well. $ 2.50 for a plain cheese slice certainly won’t break the bank(and it’s still probably the cheapest lunch around), but it’s no dollar slice. Otherwise it’s a pretty standard pizza joint. There’s a counter with all their pizza options and they’ll heat it up for you before giving you the awkward paper bag full of pizza that we’re all used to. The interior is really nice though, so if you have some time to sit and eat your pizza there, it’s a good option. Very clean and a decent amount of room. I’ve tried their little mini calzones once, and I was NOT a fan. Stick to the pizza though and you’ll be fine.

I am not a fan of their pizza, will probably give it a 3-star. But their service is outstanding. I placed an order for a margarita pie and 2 orders of chicken wings at their website online. They didn’t have the chicken wings anymore, I wish the website told me that upfront, but the manager called me immediately and apologized for the inconvenience. He refunded my money for the two wings later. Next morning to my surprise, i get a call from the manager again. He wanted to offer me complementary wings because I didn’t get to try it the previous day. I already had plans for lunch and passed on his offer, but that was really sweet of him and a great customer service that was beyond my expectation. I hope you can improve on your margarita pizza and I would love to order from you again. I didn’t like how the margarita pizza was so garlicky and overboard with tomato sauce.

I was in the area not too long ago and in need of a quick bite. sLICe had decent reviews so I decided to give it a try. At first glance, these slices don’t look appetizing at all. They look like they’ve been left out for hours. I had a Sicilian because it looked the freshest but then it looked kind of dry. One bite in, and I was pleasantly surprised! The slice was fluffy and tasty. Overall, however, I was disappointed.

sLICe is a not so new pizza place in LIC. Been here about a handful of times and I can say that it’s now our go-to place for affordable eats. Their NY style pizza is a no-miss choice for those who can’t seem to know what they want. The Margherita pie or slice with its fresh basil leaves are great as well. And if you’re a «toppings» kind of pizza person they have quite a few great selection as well. Alright, kind of typical pizzeria you might say. Not quite. Just recently I discovered their«Pasta your way» from their menu. Judging from the photos, it has not been discovered by many Unilocalers. So you pick the type of pasta, sauce and protein add-on and you’re good to go. Typical. Yes. Black truffle gravy as a choice in your sauces. No. $ 7 for pasta and sauce. Heck no! For the price that Rigatoni with Black Truffle cream is definitely worth it. And it is not your typical Pizzeria pasta. Creamy and yummy all over. So if you’re planning a little picnic at Gantry Park or just in the area, sLICe is a definite place to stop by.

Blend and Blend on the Water are two restaurants well-known for serving some of the most tremendously delicious Latin cuisine to the residents of Long Island City. While rumor has it they are soon expanding into Astoria to take over the digs of the former Marketa on 30th Avenue, the Blend team first had a slice of something different in store. In the middle of August, they opened the doors on a tasty – and affordable – slice shop on Vernon Boulvard, with the witty moniker of sLICe. It’s a narrow, simple space with a glass pizza counter and a convection oven, along with an intimate backyard garden. While the décor and prices are refreshingly minimal, the staff is exceptionally friendly. Starting at $ 2.50, large slices are available in classic New York style, Sicilian squares, Grandmother slices, Margherita, or with any combination of toppings. While those slices are worthy – and conveniently available until late night – the $ 3.00 calzones are the most remarkable deals. From a team that knows how to stuff an empanada, they bake an incredible Italian version with ricotta and truffle oil – or go for the gold with a pepperoni pastry pouch. To wash it all down – and transport you to the baseball diamond of your childhood – fountain soft drinks are available for just $ 1.00 a piece. From a team who has proven their gourmet chops, I predict everyone will stop by to get a slice of the action.

Great for a quick slice of pizza in LIC. A really easy and convenient spot to grab a bite to eat. The pepperoni was good and a little spicy and the crust was great. Slice of pepperoni was only $ 3. Overall a nice quick option in LIC which otherwise is weirdly short on quick food options I did stand there awkwardly in front of the pizza counter for about a minute before anyone helped me though. Better signage would help with that.

So happy to have a great pizza spot near work. So far I’ve tried a margarita slice, regular cheese slice, and a caprese salad and everything’s been delicious. It’s a cute little place with a nice staff. The other food looks good. They’re tomato sauce is on point. Overall — really good pizza & cute, clever name

We fount this place by chance. We followed someone coming from our the opposite direction as we walked with a pizza box in hand and we asked where they got it as we were looking for a couple slices of pizza. The price wasn’t overpriced at $ 2.50 for a regular. I Check-in and got a free Cranberry fountain drink from the Unilocal app, awesome! Thanks Unilocal. The staff were cool to deal with from ordering to paying, which is good, separate. My friend asked me will I Unilocal SLICe, I said yeah. So we discuss. And he said there is either a wow pizza or average pizza. Unfortunately, he said his slice was a average but good slice. My Margarita slice was the same, good, with two notable aspects: good clump of cheese, gooey and had decent flavor, the crust could use more crisp but over all a tad above average. I could really taste the few topping of tasty basil. The décor is of modern wood with a three screen curved television set playing the Broncos and Lions game. Including one in back. I like that this place is very casual. And that tiny little outdoor seating is very chill to hang out in with a drink and eat pizza. +Restroom

Not sure if it is the magic of Unilocal, but I think they heard my advice and now the pizza taste amazing. AMAZING! The pizza sauce and crust has flavor. I think they had some salt in the dough and it made a world of difference. It’s my new favorite pizza shop in LIC. The pizza is made fresh and when I was there in lunch, LIC noticed that this is the new hot spot. People were lining up to order. Service was fast and the food was good. Very friendly staff. And oh wait… there is CC on television. My wishes has been answered. New Wish for Slice: A creative special pizza of the day. Let the cook make an unique pizza so it keeps it fresh and makes me curious about the special. I think it has the making of something great! ********************************************* I was eager to try the new pizza shop that just opened in town. I stopped by after work. I ordered a regular slice($ 2.50), sausage slice($ 3) and a can of coke($ 1.50). Total was $ 7. I was quickly served. The place was clean and had a nice set up with the benches. There was a couple of TVs. Since there is music playing in the background, i recommend turning the close caption on. It might be just me, but if I see something interesting on television, it would be nice that I could decipher what’s on the screen. Pizza break down: Size– Both were respectable portion. Sauce: I would rate the sauce as mediocre. Nothing stands out about it. I think they could spice it up to add more flavor. Topping: The sausage tasted pretty good. It had a little spice to it. Crust: The crust tasted bland and dry. It might make sense if it was a wheat crust. If it is a wheat crust, please note it on the menu because my expectation was very different from what I ate. If it is not wheat, it needs some flavoring. The price is reasonable. My overall impression was that it was an okay pizza shop. I’m hoping that they are able to tweak the pizza sauce and crust a bit so it’s more flavorful. Welcome to LIC

If you were born and raised a New York City kid, you’ll remember the time your parents took you to an old fashion pizzeria for a slice and a coke. Your first bite of that piping hot cheese, sweet and tangy tomato sauce and crispy thin crust was something to remember. sLICe brings back all those memories again; less the red brick walls, Pac-man and Galaga arcade in the background. It is the epitome of what true classic NY pizza should be. Perfect balance of salty cheese, sweet and tangy tomato sauce and an amazing crust. The Grandma and Sicilian slices both taste amazing. The standout winners are the traditional NY slice and Margarita. Whoever is complaining about how the sauce tastes or how the crust needs more flavor truly doesn’t know what a NY slice is suppose to taste. Likely from Philly, Ohio or some transplant. sLICe — please don’t change a thing.

Delicious Pizza. It feels like a mom and pop pizza shop and the prices are great too. I was really impressed with their service. :BATHROOMALERT: Bathroom was very clean. Soap was full as well as the toilet paper roll. I hear they have an outside area that they are going to open. I cannot wait for this that is going to be awesome. The sauce was very tasty as well. I am very happy they are part of the neighborhood. Check out the box they deliver the pizza in, it has special places in LIC.

I saw that sLICe was now open on Vernon Blvd so I thought I’d give it a try. I ordered 2 slices of pizza, 1 New York style & a grandma slice. I waited 25 minutes for them to fulfill my order and was then given the wrong order and given 2NY slices!!! I was told it would be a further 10 minutes if I wanted a grandma slice. At which point I asked for my money back for the incorrect slice and said I would just take 1 slice. I wasn’t going to be at a takeaway for 35 minutes. One man, who I assume is the manager gave me back the money for the incorrect slice(incorrect amount, not enough) and said I could keep the 2NY slices. He then came after me as I was leaving with another complimentary slice. By this stage, I was kind of over the pizza! The NY style pizza was nice, but average. Certainly not worth a 25 minute wait. I understand that this is their first week and it is still the soft opening, but it shouldn’t take that long for a slice of pizza. The décor is nice inside, it has a L’Inizio kind of vibe, with the red accents. I liked the white tiles and there are several TV screens above the counter. Eventually there will be an outdoor seating area out the back. It is owned by the same people as Blend & Blend on the Water. Prices are reasonable at $ 2.50 for a NY slice, compared to other places in the area. I probably wouldn’t return here unless once they are properly up and running they are open late and I fancy food when getting off the 7 train and everywhere else has closed, but only if they improve their timings.
