My friends and I came here after a major failure at nearby pizza place. The owner was so nice and the pizza was delicious. We chatted with some fellow customers about The Affair. Definitely a great place to get a real New York Slice!

San Remo is the real deal, hands down the best pizza in Long Island City. The owner has been in this neighborhood for as long as I can remember. People who grew up in the neighborhood remember playing the arcades in their back in the day. It used to seem a little price as he adjusted to the gentrification but now you can’t beat a $ 13 fresh delicious pie. Also Paul, recently added specials of 2 Slices and a soda for $ 6. He has a bangin meat ball parm sandwich and a chicken parm sandwich with a soda for $ 6 to. San Remos is cash only but he has an atm machine which allows you to withdraw in increments of $ 10. If your from the neighborhood and are looking for a good slice, don’t let these fancy looking spots fool you. Try San Remo, it has a throwback vibe and a delicious slice. If you just visiting the hood make sure to stop by and be nice. Engage in convo and you wont be let down.

Come here if you’re looking to order a whole pie to take home. The dining area doesnt have much to be desired. I think their pizza is the best on the street, but If you’re looking to grab a quick slice, go across the street to Slice. They don’t have much selection. The guy behind the counter is sometimes grumpy, sometimes nice. But I’m there for the pizza, not conversation

This pizza is really good, annoying that they only take cash… but can’t deny the excellent pizza. Best in the neighborhood and possibly all of queens.

San Remo is the back bone of Long Island city. My family has lived in this neighborhood for 86 years and counting. This is an old school pizzeria and its delishious. After trying food caller and the new place on Vernon(can’t think of the name) this place is the best. Don’t even judge a book by its cover and the owner who my family has known for years is a great guy. Great guy … Everyone should support this place and keep the old school Italian roots in Long Island city where they should be and not have this place turn into a dominos or papa johns

San Remo is old school and I’m a big fan. My kids love it too. It’s refreshing to have an original business in LIC that continues to serve great pizza, without trying to be hip and trendy.

I like this spot but it has its flaws. They have great pizza and God garlic knots. The customer service is what ruins the place. The owner has a problem with his customer. He is very rude and acts like he don’t need the business. He charge extra 1 for marinara sauce for the garlic knots which I think should be included. Aside from that it’s a good place to eat original pizza.

$ 2.50 for a slice/$ 16 for a pie, how does this place stay open. In a location where it’s the only real non-thin crust joint, you get sub-par pizza. You walk in and it’s just so sad. I would avoid, but if you need a slice, you really have no choice.

First stepped in. Thinking it’s not anything special. Has a very old school pizza joint kind of feel. Just missing the arcades and good pizza! The slices weren’t of anything of amazement nor did it gave me any nostalgic feeling of what a New York Slice should taste like. Usually most pizza places they heat up your slices for a good 2mins or so. Dude puts it in the oven. Collects the cost and pops it right out… So I had a luke warm slice with a bit of chilled in the middle. I hope they do better… Cause with services such as this. Chain pizza joints will rule them… and I would hate to join their dark side of high corporate, cheap costly pie’s.

This is probably the longest running place in LIC — especially on Vernon Blvd. Once you walk through the doors, it’ll look like one of those establishments from a horror movie. Dim with one light that won’t stop blinking with an axe wielding murderer about to come out the kitchen. Instead, it’s just an old school place that won’t sway to the modern lifestyle that has transformed us from the stone age. The old guy is kind of friendly. They still watch television on a tv set with rabbit ear antennas. The menu sign still consists of paste on letters and numbers. As for the pizza, it’s not terrible but it’s not exactly great either. The crust is over floured since I still taste the flour dust on my mouth. Like the aftermath of eating a powered donut. I honestly think everything will taste better if they just re-decorated. Cause right now, it feels like you’re eating out of Satan’s closet.

The pizza didn’t look very fresh at this old-school joint, but the taste was better than the appearance. I liked the sauce and cheese but the crust was too puffy. Chicken parm was good but small; at least the price was right.

Got a weird vibe when walking in here, This place feels so dirty and old. All of the pizza looked like it had been sitting out since yesterday. When I asked the old white guy behind the counter if fresh pizza was coming out, He gave me a dirty look and grunted. Woahhh, rude! Walked in and walked out

Wish I could give this place negative stars. Not only were they rude on the phone and complained about delivering to a place where there delivery guy just delivered to but they never delivered my order. 1 hour of my time wasted expecting the food to be delivered to only find out they had already closed once I tried calling to find out about the status. DISAPPOINTED!!!

Watched the older white guy picking his God damned nose like there was a prize in it before he handled my pizza out of the oven with his bare hands! Im not f’n joking or exaggerating. I was 10 feet away from him the entire time! Go elsewhere or get sick

Not sure how this place makes money. It’s always closed and when I did manage to order on their schedule today, the guy hung up on me cause he thought I was giving him a fake address. Am I some punk kid pranking my local pizzeria in 1982? I just took my business elsewhere. Not sure about the pizza as I didn’t actual get to try it, but the service sure does suck.

This is a love it or hate it place — which means I love it! I’ve been passing this place by at least 3 times a week for the last 3 years, and I’ve always been intrigued by the window screen and the big space, but their reputation downtrodded me and I never even stepped in. Last week I finally went in and the slice was pretty good! I will definitely go back! It’s doughy with nice tasting cheese and very light on the tomato sauce application. They cook it quite lightly and the dough rises quite a bit, so it’s something that will be offensive to some people — but me, I love pizza of all kinds — and I love this one too! This is a trip back in time, to a time I never really experienced in NYC. When you see a listing with no 3 star reviews, you know there’s something going on here. Glad I finally went in and found out.

Just okay. Ordered delivery a few times. Nothing special. Didn’t feel the need to repeat after the second time. Went in to buy just a drink once — why not, right? And the guy was really rude, like I’d bothered him to just purchase a bottled drink from the fridge.

For over $ 2 per slice, you’ve gotta step up your game, San Remo. Selection is pretty sparse, especially around dinner time. They usually have a few sicilian slices, half a regular pie, and some old rolls laying around… and although nothing is terrible, it’s certainly not phenomenal. I do like the dough they use, has the right amount of chewiness and crisps just right. But the cheese is meh. Hence the two stars.

Utter disgrace. I live nearby, and wish that this place was good. Hunter’s Point does have good pizza, but all the spots sell whole pies only. So, this is the only traditional by-the-slice joint around, unfortunately for everyone who craves a decent slice of pizza. This place is very deceptive — it has the look, smell, feel etc. of a real NYC pizzeria. That’s why I was so gassed the first time I came. But as soon as you see the counter, it’s pretty obvious how bad this place is. The selection is small and the pizza just looks unappetizing. Well, I gave it two chances, and came once more with my friends(to spectate) b/c they were desperate. After three visits, I can say wholeheartedly that the pizza is absolutely fucking horrible. I don’t know how this place survives. As others have said, the owner seems miserable too. It brings me no pleasure to shit on any place, let alone a seemingly old school Queens pizzeria. It’s partly due to frustration I guess — I love pizza to death, so it kills me that the only slice joint in the ‘hood has inedible pizza. I’ve never tried anything else on the menu besides pizza, but I sure wouldn’t expect a better experience.

Not a fan. The place is dingy and in desperate need of remodeling. The pizza tastes mediocre at best. Recently, I gave this place another shot and ordered the chicken parm hero. Again, mediocre at best. The cheese tasted good, but the sauce was bland and the bread was too soft. Someone described my sandwich as being«the chicken parm they probably sell at Subway». It’s unfortunate this place isn’t better because there’s not that many places to grab a quick slice around here(the fried chicken/pizza spot across the street doesn’t count because that’s not even real pizza).
