OptimEyes Vision of LIC

Such a wonderful store! They will go out of their way to be helpful to you. I was visiting from out of town and had forgotten my contact lenses. After searching all around NYC for someone who would be willing to give me a few samples to carry me through the weekend, I found OptimEyes. Not only were they super friendly and helpful, but they stayed late while I Iocated my prescription and got it faxed over to them. Love love love! Recommend everyone to go here for your eyewear needs. You are sure to find the best, top-​quality customer service and products here!

I love my optometrist and all of the staff at OptimEyes. They are so friendly, warm, positive and helpful. I sat on and broke my glasses so I went in with no appointment to pick out new ones, and it was the easiest process: I was in and out of there in 15 minutes! They have a wide selection of glasses to choose from, including glasses frames that were 50% off. Even better, I ordered my glasses on Saturday and they were ready for pickup by Tuesday night! Super speedy! The office is bright and fashionable, and there is comfortable couch and TV where you can wait for your eye appointment. Their location is right off the Vernon Blvd/​Jackson Ave 7 subway stop.

OptimEyes is the best vision center I’ve been to, ever. Walking into this place transcends the mundane experience of going to the eye doctor. It’s trendy, hip, cool and the selection of glasses caters widely to a diverse group of people — I could have easily bought a few. Aside from the overall ambience, the assistants are kind, respectful, and extremely helpful. After clearing two sheets of paperwork, the assistant printed out my vision benefits and walked me through what I was eligible for. This has never happened to me! She was so nice and this small gesture helped me gain a huge understanding of the process as on their end as well. And the optometrists are my favorite! They are open, friendly, humorous, humble, and down to earth. I went to Dr. Shetty and I had a seamless and flawless experience. He is quick, thorough, and super nice! He gave me a week’s worth of trial contacts so I can try out new ones. I would easily journey from Manhattan for the quality of care at OptimEyes. Website, payment, time, people — OptimEyes has really figured out an optimal solution to helping individuals and making the customer experience incredible.

My wife and I randomly found OptimEyes a year ago after looking through Unilocal for Optometrists in our area. From the moment we walked in we were treated with the utmost respect, fairness and sincerity!
The actual office is nice and comfortable but, the staff is amazing! We have enjoyed every experience that we have ever had with them. So much so that when we are in the area or walking by the storefront we at least poke our head in to say hello. When you are with them, you feel like you are with friends! And to top it off, they are all really good at their jobs from measuring your needed prescription to picking out the best glasses for your face shape. I have already referred 4 co-​workers and 2 friends to this place and if you are reading this, then you should go to! You will be glad you did!

I never write Unilocal reviews, but for Optimeyes I just had to.
Never have I felt so at home at the doctor’s office. For one, it doesn’t even look like the typical office of optometrist. It’s beautifully set up with a cozy home feeling will make you forget that you’re there to get an eye exam!
I recieved the best service as soon as I arrived. The super friendly receptionist Jennifer showed me around and recommended different frames to suit what I was looking for. Once I was set on a couple, I was given a few forms to sign and was then led throgh an eye exam by Dr. Shetty. Everythjng took about 15 minutes and I had all the time in the world to look at and try on glasses.
Dr. Shetty and Dave even took the time to suggest a couple of frames and explained why certain frames were a better fit than others. They gave me so many options to choose from that I didn’t know which I liked more!
Not only was the service amazing, but it was super fast. I was told only a day after my exam that my glasses were ready! I will no longer to go to any other optometrist.
I live about 20 minutes from LIC but the trip is so worth it. Thanks again Optimeyes for making a glasses experience so fast, fun, and friendly!

Great Neighborhood Option… Make LIC GREAT. Please Take Advantage of our Local Resources and Keep them in the Neighborhood
They might want to review their prices… seemed alittle high, but worth it for the special attention. If they want to attract more, better prices might be warraranted
Nice selection of frames, but limited.

So far so good. We had to fill out more forms even tho we did them on ZocDoc. To fill out the forms they send you to a back area. Its a nice wood floor, plush coach, nice TV, great cabinets and tons of glasses to choose from.
They have a new machine here if you don’t want your eyes to be dilated. Our appointments we didn’t have to wait long. The doctor is very nice but be warned that machine I mentioned earlier cost $ 40 if you don’t have insurance. Our doctor is Dr. Pauline.
The people who work here are very nice. They didn’t seem to be too busy for a Sunday. I found it pretty sweet that they had a random guitar next to the seating area. They have a lot of contact samples which is cool, not sure if you have you have to pay for those.

Wow, super clean bathroom. This is a nicest eye glass place with a bathroom.
There’s a table in the back that holds cookies, coffee and other snacks. Its really a great spot for a small get together too bad it is a eyeglass place, just kidding. The exposed brick is just fabulous. I really wish I can live in this back area and make it my home.
The TV they have here is bigger than the one in my own home. What eye glass place has a Chandelier? Some parts have an awesome sunroof. Seriously color me impressed. Did I mention Batman was playing on the TV the whole time.
The actual exam itself went very smoothly. The doctor was very patient with me. The doctor recommended certain vitamin’s for me to take. Extremely helpful she went above and beyond.
For people who have Davis Vision they had a moderate selection. I wish I was able to get better glasses but oh well, it isn’t their fault. I highly recommend this place to anyone.
5 of 5 stars wish I could give them more. The atmosphere is just wonderful. Nothing like I’ve ever seen before. Everything about this place screams old school antique LIC. The sunlight that comes in this place is so calming and relaxing. Why can’t all doctors offices be this way?

Had a Wonderful experience with Dr Pauline Leong, she was so sweet, intelligent and caring. she gave great advice on how to care for my eyes which i never received anywhere else. She made me feel extremely comfortable as i hate getting my eyes checked out, since i have horrible sight. I was Amazed at Dr Leong being able to help me see ²⁰⁄₂₀ with contacts and frames, which has Never happened! i absolutely loved her and the friendly staff.

Came here after eating in the area so i decided to walk off this baby in my stomach. Came into the store to check it out. Its nice and new inside. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular. Was helped out by Rajat Shetty. He was so friendly and easy to talk to. He wasnt pushy and was willing to show me without rushing me. In the end decided to pick up a pair of sunglasses. Now im ready for the summer.

After wearing only contacts and using readers for years, it was time to get a pair of prescription glasses. This being my first experience, I had a lot of questions. I can not say enough good things about everyone I dealt with.
All my questions were answered satisfactorily and as I ordered progressives, I knew there would be a learning curve to not trip all over myself. David was so patient and a great teacher. I have not tripped once!
Dr Rajat Shetty was super nice and let me try on all different colors of contacts for future reference.
Highly recommend!

I stopped by here to have my year end eye exam for glasses. Simone greeted me and showed me to the waiting area where I filled out all my paperwork. The waiting area is pretty comfy. The entire store is pretty spacious. They have a huge selection of glasses and sunglasses.
Dr. Scott was great and incredibly attentive to any concerns I had regarding my prescription. I would buffer extra time — maybe an hour or more. The team was running behind a few minutes and I did have to wait on another gentlemen who priced out my glasses and lens for me. It was about a 10 – 15 minute wait for him as well as Dr. Scott.
All and all, they were helpful and I cant wait to come by for a contact lens fitting. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the LIC hood in need of frames and lens.

Yesterday I drunkenly crushed my only pair of glasses. Wandered into this place the next day. The lady immediately took my glasses, used some baby oil and voodoo, and fixed them as though they were brand new. Didn’t even charge me. This place saved the day.

Dr Tisdale is the man!!! Not only did he do an exceptional job with my exam, but he did not roll his eyes when I said I wanted to look like Taylor Swift or at least 22 years old while helping me choose my glasses. I had a great experience and will not go any where else.

Great experience here. Dr. Pauline Leong is awesome. Really sweet, patient, understanding and competent. She explains everything very clearly, makes good suggestions and doesn’t judge you if you have bad eye care habits. Overall I felt really comfortable with her and like I was in good hands.
The office itself is gorgeous. It’s seriously the nicest doctors office I’ve ever been in. Super clean, very chic and comfortable. The office staff is helpful, knowledgeable and extremely friendly. I purchased a new set of glasses and the prices are very reasonable. They carry high end brands like Tom Ford and Ray-​Ban and also have cheaper brands for tighter budgets. Their selection is good and on trend. They were very helpful in showing me pairs and helping me narrow them down. Overall, a great experience. OptimEyes is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood.

After perusing through all of the raving reviews about this place, I had to give it a try due to horrible past experiences that I will happily omit from this deserving review as I’m sure we’ve all been through this at least once.
For people that live in Manhattan and refuse to venture outside the city to find their doctors, this is exactly one stop from the city on the 7 train (vernon Jackson blvd). But that’s just ONE of the many reasons why I come here for my eye exams.
As soon as I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the young woman who led me to the waiting area. Dr. Tisdale is amazing! Very knowledgeable in his profession and asked very targeted questions to understand my concerns.
Another thing that I love is that they don’t pressure you to buy anything, but with the selections that they have it is impossible to not walk out with frames that you love!
Overall, staff is attentive, friendly and professional.

Optimeyes Vision of LIC is a dream come true. I recently moved to New York and was in need of an eye exam. As i walked in i was immediately greeted warmly by Dr. Leong and the friendly Staff. Simone was especially helpful in taking my information and making sure i was attended to. I’d heard nothing but great things about Dr. Leong and after my visit I will tell nothing but great things about Her and Optimeyes to others!
The office is located a few steps off the 7 train and the store is so warm and inviting. The office is laid out with a huge selection of top designer frames, most id never heard of, but all styles that i wanted! The Staff were very adept at making suggestions for which frames would work for my facial structure. Especially Simone, offering some great suggestions, of which if id had enough money i would have left with 4 pair she picked out! There are huge skylights with couches in the reception area, making for a very welcoming experience.
The doctors and staff are very much on top of their game here. When I met with Dr. Leong she was friendly right away. You could tell she genuinely wants to know her patients and not just give you an eye exam to get you out the door. It had been a while since I had my last exam so we did a very thorough exam and she did the dilation test to make sure there was nothing in the backs of my eye balls starting up that shouldn’t. I was most impressed with Dr. Leong’s knowledge of wholistic and homeopathic care/​treatments. She posses an approach that takes into account all the things that nurture sight.
I was given the most updated information about lens options, guaranteeing me the thinnest lenses for my LARGE prescription. In the end, Optimeyes gave me a deceptively great Lens that is much thinner appearing than anything ive purchased before and at a great price.
I spent a long time looking through all their frames with the help of Simone. I went with a pair of Oliver Peoples AFTON RX, such a beautiful frame suggestion from Simone. AND, i ended up leaving with a pair of DITA sunglasses as well, super great price and AMAZINGLY MADE FRAMES, the engineering of them are like nothing else ive seen.
I HIGHLY suggest OPTIMEYES for both eye care and purchasing frames & lenses due to such a wide selection and great prices!

I was so pleasantly surprised by our experience with everyone at OptimEyes. I took my daughter (she has had glasses for 1.5 years — 7 years old) and I went myself. Dr. Leong was just wonderful. So thorough, super knowledgeable and detail oriented. The cherry on top is how friendly everyone was — Dr. Leong made my daughter feel so comfortable (she is usually very shy).
David worked with me to help me understand my complicated insurance. They are just super accommodating in every way. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood. No need to trek to Manhattan — in fact I would trek here even if I lived somewhere else.

I already had a prescription but went to try on glasses/​sunglasses & the whole process was easy as everyone was helpful and friendly! There are so many trendy and unique brands here and normally I feel overwhelmed when left alone to try on lots of different frames but when I gave a vague description of what I was looking for, the guy picked out a few frames for me and I loved all of them! It was so hard to choose but eventually I settled on a frame. They have DITA sunglasses there too which are awesome.
I love it when the opticians know what frames to pick out for your face & prescription instead of offering random frames to try on. They definitely know what they are doing here.
Also, the atmosphere of the place itself is awesome! It’s a large open area with sections of sky lighting. The waiting area has a nice TV & comfy couches with free water, coffee, etc so I didn’t feel stressed at all when my friend waited for me to try on the glasses. And seeing a chandelier in the place made me happy too.
Overall, recommend this place for good quality, stylish glasses & a good experience!

Having worn eyeglasses most of my life, I’ve had many, many pairs. At OptimEyes, I was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of high fashion frames and the knowledgable staff that helps you select them.
Dr. Leong was great fitting me with a new type of contact lens and my eyes feel great! I’ve always had a difficult prescription for contacts and I am very satisfied with my current lens fitting! Thank You to everyone at this wonderful store, I’ll be back!

Excellent service from the time I walked in. I haven’t had an eye exam for over a year and broke my last pair of glasses. In the past, finding a new optimologists has been difficult. There team is very helpful going through frames. I actually had two different frames and one was twice as expensive as the other and they actually told me the least expensive one look better on me. I was very happy with the selection of glasses.
I search for frames as I waited for my eye exam, behind another customer with an appointment. The wait wasn’t long and Scott was very professional and felt confident after today’s exam will produce kick but new pair of glasses.
In addition, I used my Maui Jim’s and replaced the lenses with prescription tinted ones.
The prices were very fair and service was excellent.
I highly recommend if you wear glasses or contacts the team at OptimEyes will find you the correct prescription customize it to the right look for you.
Can’t wait for my new pair in a couple weeks.
