Waited well over an hour for indifferent food. And the restaurant was not particularly full.

The wife and I are staying in the hotel, so down stairs is defiantly the most convent place to eat. The restaurant is on the small size but that seems par for the course with the hotel. We were greeted by a very nice server and sat where we liked. When we received the menu I was shocked at the prices for the breakfast items. Let’s just say highway robbery. $ 4 for a bagel with cream cheese and 11 bucks for an omelet. This LIC Queens! Not Midtown Manhattan!!! Being born and raised in this area of Queens but now moved away, it blows me away the prices these places charge for meals. The food, a typical at best(nothing special) cost 40 bucks for the two of us. I can say my breakfast was not worth 40 bucks. It seemed the server was stretched way too thin. We waited a bit just to get a refill if our coffee and waters. All in all this place way over charges for the product they are putting out there and the level of service provided.(mind you this is not a complaint on the server).

Nice wait staff. Absolutely horrendous food. Caesar salad gross. Salmon and seafood pasta taste like the seafood was caught weeks ago. Wanted to like it. Oh well.

Food here was OK. Came with the Groupon deal. Salads were fresh and tasty which was the best part. For the meal I got the Filet Mignon. Was way too chewy, especially for Filet which is supposed to be a lean cut. Also the veggies that came with the steak seemed like the frozen kind. My girlfriend enjoyed her meal(seafood pasta?) so maybe if I come back I’ll try something else. Pros: Fresh salad Groupon deal friendly service Cons: chewy steak(–1 star) frozen veggies with steak(–1 star) Maybe I would give it one more shot if I had a discount.

I decided to try their veggie burger– and OMG I LOVEDIT! BESTVEGGIEBUGEREVER! Their bread was grilled and so delicious. I also ordered French fries– but I have to say, I dislike their fries. Overall I would come here again for their veggie burger!!! Their atmosphere is also amazing which is located in the hotel

I purchased a Groupon and had high expectations when I realized that it was located at a Sheraton Four Points Hotel. We arrived at around 8:00PM on a Friday night and after searching for the entrance as there is no sign indicating that he Diner in the Lobby is MIchael’s Café we walked in and were not greeted by the three or four waitresses milling around the bar and fussing with glasses. There were about three tables occupied one with a party of about six We stood there awkwardly and finally the cook came out from the kitchen and told us to sit anywhere. We were given two menus by one of the young waitresses, one was the regular menu the other was a Specials menu. My wife decided on the Baby back ribs from the Regular menu and I selected the strip steak from the specials menu which came with mashed potatoes and veggies. The waitress told me that I couldn’t order from the Specials Menu with my Groupon and abruptly snatched the Specials menu from my hand. The same item was listed on the Regular Menu for $ 2.00 more sans the veggies. The steak was described as grilled with a «brush of Rosemary Butter. When the steak arrived it was swimming in some type of gravy the mashed potatoes were good, My wife’s «BBQ» baby back ribs tasted like they had been boiled and stored in a refrigerator for a long time and then but on a grill to heat them up and sloshed with Tobasco sauce and served with rice. The food came out in a reasonable time. The teenage waitress came and dropped the food on the table and disappeared. I had to pour half of my water into my wife’s glass because no one ever came back to refill our glasses. I think the trend in the restaurant business these days is to hire teenagers that are poorly trained and have no clue as to what it means to be a waitress/waiter. I guess because they will work for less money and usually have no plans to stick around too long, so they probably have a very high turnover rate. Waiting tables used to be a career and people used to take pride in what they did, nowadays it consists of mostly scatter brain kids, texting and talking to their friends and of occasionally carting food out to a table. Even with the Groupon it was no great shakes, If you want great Diner food go over to MIchael’s Restaurant on Broadway &34th Street a few blocks away. Good food, good value and good wait staff,

I’m staying in the hotel so I figured I’d have dinner. I ordered the chicken kabob with vegetables and spring rolls as an appetizer. The chicken kabob was served on a plate smothered in an onion gravy sauce, the vegetables were over cooked, boiled no less. This was a terrible presentation, awful texture and mediocre flavor. Very disappointing dinner. The $ 10 spring rolls were out of a grocery store, how imaginative. Eat elsewhere if you have time

Came in for breakfast since we were staying at the hotel and it is too cold to go outside. The waitress is very friendly and service is quick but horrible food. I had the breakfast burrito. It honestly tasted like it was microwaved. It’s was bland and very greasy. My Bf had an omelette which was ok. The only good thing here was the tea. But how can someone possibly mess up a cup of tea.

Came for dinner last night. We bought a Groupon for 2 salads, an appetizer, 2 entrees and a bottle of wine. Wine was good, salads were delicious(Red Rock Merlot, Spinach Salad and Michael’s Salad). Mozzarella sticks were delicious. I ordered the lamb chops and my girlfriend ordered the pasta. The lamb chops were very small in my opinion and overdone. The pasta was large and quite filling. Overall, the deal was good, but the place was a bit pricey — the groupon covered the costs of the meal, but the tax and tip were additional, which are applied to the cost of the food. Service was good and the hosts were attentive, so kudos there.

NOSTARORMINUS! The food was awful and my dining experience at Michael’s café was the worst especially this restaurant is associate to a Starwood Hotel. The waitress misunderstood and charged extra on my bill. When requested to speak to the manager(named Michael) but he was extremely rude. He did not care to discuss and show no hospitality for the patrons. Services connected to Starwood have been excellent and extraordinary. However, Michael was offensively impolite so I asked to speak to the general manager of the hotel. He claimed that he was also the hotel’s general manager and he was the only person overseas the whole hotel operation. It was absolute the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It’s embarrassing that Four Point hotel hires a restaurant like Michael’s café. The next day, I addressed my concern to this hotel. Turns out, Michael is not the hotel’s general manager and indeed I could have spoken to the authorized manager regard to this issue. Nevertheless, a very professional and nice assistant manager who worked diligently to address this issue and as a nice courtesy she invites us to come back. Unfortunately, we have no interest to go back. I value greatly on both good food and service but Michael’s café failed to deliver both. I truly think Michael’s café does not deserve to have patrons.

This restaurant is conveniently located to the N train… just a 5 minute walk away.(Note-it’s in what I call«The New Hotel Area». The neighborhood itself isn’t very lively… but it is growing.) My husband ordered salmon, I had the chicken wrap. No complaints about the food! Our waiter, Nick, was super friendly and attentive.

I’ll be back… And guess what, I’m back I’m staying at the hotel, if you were paying attention to my last review, so no surprise, I’m back This place just got a five star bump… let’s keep this to the point. The Michael salad — exquisite. Lots of crAnberries this time around — like the ocean spray commercial quantities… you could swim in it Now for the crème de la crème — turkey club sandwich. Thanksgiving came early cause they crammed an entire turkey in this sandwich — gizzard and that sagging chin part and all. Excellent… bread was also toasted and just the right amounts of each component — bacon, mayo, tomato, lettuce and no, I didn’t get cheese. It also came with those fat ass French fries that I shoved in my mouth while burning my finger tips bc of the hot grease– what a perfect combination. Who came up with this? Up from 4 stars to a perfect 5 the next night! I’m a Unilocaler, so you know what I’m talking about — a Unilocaler with a fat face!
