Awesome sushi here. I’m from California and was in LIC on business for 2 ½ weeks and needed a sushi fix so I came here after finding it on Unilocal and am very glad I did. The fish here is very very fresh, the Chef Pedro is a learned man in the art of preparing dishes, taught in the traditional Japanese way. I ordered Uni, Saba, Hamachi and Sake sushi and let me tell you it rivaled some of the best I’ve ever had. My friend ordered the tempura vegetable and shrimp, it was flaky and delicious. The décor is very nice with little noise from the train. I will to returning next year when I come back to LIC

I came here with coworkers. I had never tasted sushi besides California rolls and so I didn’t know what to expect. My coworker ordered the boat and it was amazing! All types of sushi. The ones I tasted had tuna, shrimp, salmon. For my first time, I’d say they tasted pretty good. The taste was filling, each fish had a unique taste. Then came my box, I believe it’s called a bento box but being the scariedy cat. I ordered the breaded chicken, it also came with California rolls, a litlle salad, wasabi from what I remembered. It was beyond tasty! Delicious. I’ve tasted California rolls and these tasted just… amazing! Can’t wait to go there again.

Cozy Japanese restaurant. Good prices and the prices are decent! Enjoyed the pork gyoza, tilapia teriyaki combo meal and all the rolls we had were great! Definitely recommend the zorro, green river and the Mexican rolls!

This is my go-to sushi spot. There are a few items here that they don’t have anywhere else that I’ve tried, such as a crunchy sushi roll. The soup is delicious and the food is fresh. Also, I like the salads a lot and the ginger sesame dressing is awesome. Service is nice and friendly and the same people work here for a long time. Low turnover must mean they’re good people to work for.

Blah. All i can say. It was bland. Nothing remarkable and i found myself forgetting about it as i walked back down the block. I would recommend that they raise their standards of the sushi that they are selling. I ordered the lunch special of 2 rolls and both rolls… tasted…old.

Great place by the trains and quiet. Makes it a really nice place to enjoy your meal especially the fresh sushi.

Delicious fresh sushi and good happy hour! The place is always clean and staff is quick and courteous. The only good sushi spot close by. Plus they have Sapporo on tap. Delivery is always quick. I love the miso soup.

Extremely good sushi!!! My wife and I were craving some sushi this evening. Usually, we go up to Broadway and eat at one of the many spots there. This evening, we tried something closer to home. When we entered the restaurant, it was completely empty; but, we still decided to order out. The phone rang at regular intervals, so that seemed like a good sign. In short, we were extremely surprised by the quality. 1) Rice — very good flavor — had the proper acidity. Some places really don’t do well or even bother with this. 2) Fish — very fresh. The spicy salmon had a wonderful flavor with a slight sweetness. Same goes for the spicy scallop. The squid and octopus were very good as well. 3) They have a sushi happy hour! $ 1 sushi/sashimi AND they have roll specials(3 for $ 12)! So it was extremely affordable! Don’t be put off by the fact that this place is in the industrial part of Astoria. It really is a hidden gem.

Remarkably mediocre. Japanese gyoza are pan fried only on the bottom… these were deep fried! Ouch! Stick to cooked food here… the raw fish is low quality.

I’ve never been inside but have ordered delivery a few times. They’re super slow but so are most places out here. The teriyaki special/bento is passable but the sushi is terrible. The salmon smelled and tasted fishy and the spicy«tuna» was almost all mayo. It’s your typical 3 rolls for $ 10 at lunch but this place cuts every corner, even the wasabi was bad. I understand giving small portions but serve decent food. I won’t order from here again, not even the teriyaki. I can’t see supporting this place.

It was completely empty when I walked in for lunch. I ordered the Sushi lunch special, with the Philidelphia Roll, the Crunchy Spicy Salmon Roll and the Boston Roll and it came with a miso soup. Perhaps it was my choice in rolls, but I was not impressed. The fish was fresh, but the choices in rolls were mediocre and the miso soup was too salty. The only good part of the meal was the green tea that I asked for at the end of the meal. Try ordering that.

My friends are in love with this place so I decided to check it out. I ordered the golden roll and my friend ordered something tempura. Both were pretty good and prices are pretty cheap. The place itself is pretty unassuming and clean. Will def. go back

I want to come back and eat the salmon don($ 10.95) every week! The amount of tasty fish is great, and the presentation is enjoyable as well. Overall it seems like quite a promising sushi restaurant. The interior is clean, the menu also has a lot of non-sushi options and the quality food is good.

I’ve never been here before, but i liked the place a lot. I got the salmon bento box, and the salmon was really tasty! The price($ 12) was reasonable for the fairly large quantity of food that was included. I also liked that they had an «Astoria roll», although I haven’t tried it. The atmosphere was really quiet, clean, good décor… I would definitely recommend!

Since yamashiro/tobiko closed down, i think this is my next sushi place to hit up in Astoria. Interior is small and regular-looking but the sushi created here is simply amazing! My friends & I ordered a bunch of rolls & sake — salmon, California, Boston, Philadelphia, salmon with sesame seed(least satisfactory) & the chef’s special(I’m not sure what was in it but whatever the chef stuffed in is pure magic). Check it out if you are in the area!

Really good sushi, nothing spectacularly different, but their own twists on a number of dishes. Nice folks, a short walk from the 39th Street station, and a great happy hour deal.
