Hair Ego’s

This is a great salon with incredibly wallet friendly prices. I have been there for hair cuts and highlights (extreme base color change, full head highlights plus some subtle variations). I highly recommend a trip from the city (it is not far from the train) if you can budget the time. Not «the experience» of a salon — but you will walk away feeling amazing.
My hair is medium-​ish and has a mind of it’s own. Long length layers were introduced without a shock (after a season of neglect)…nor did the process require me to constantly measure how much hair was being cut off. Cozy space unfortunately does not leave room for any buddies to come along.
I would recommend calling ahead to see if the appointment ahead of you is running on time. Ana (the stylist | owner) balanced my many, many, many processes (…e.g. waiting for the base, sitting w/​foil, etc.) with other clients *without* making me feel 1) alarmed my hair was going to fry and 2) ignored. (It is a small space, so that is probably impossible:)
They do provide BKT, however, I have never had this service done as I have Japanese hair straightening done elsewhere.
I just checked their website to pull up prices (not up for some reason) — they are still taking clientele. I’m not sure if the pricing structure has changed at all. Note! This is a cash only business. Note worthy: English is not a barrier. Spanish is also fluently spoken.

This is a great salon that I went to just because it was around the corner from my house. The owner gave me a long talk about the quality of their products which I didn’t really pay attention to, and then… WOW.
They cut my 9-​year-​old daughter’s hair in bangs and made her look like a fashion model.
They’ve done my roots and my hair for the first time didn’t come out looking like doll hair, but very natural. Also, I went to them to style my hair for a fancy party and it came out looking sexy and curly, the best it’s ever looked in my life!
Eric is soon to be a real fixture of the neighborhood. The stylists working with him are all excellent.
