It’s only been a couple weeks since I’ve started coming here, but I have to say that I love it. Lawrence and Adam have created a safe place for people of all skill levels to learn. I find myself challenged, yet there’s always a smile on my face. If you’re looking for a no-pressure place to learn fight choreography or muay thai, this is hands down the place to go.

Not going to find another studio like this in NYC. Lang and his staff at Fight Studio are awesome. They know their stuff, are patient in making sure you learn the right way, and focus on making sure they tailor their teaching to you. Whether you are a beginner actor or a seasoned director, they’re able to talk to you and show you fight choreography in terms you can understand. The most important thing to me when someone asks me what makes them special — I tell them it’s about honesty. They are honest. They show a lot of tough love. And that’s how you want it to be when you are performing or making a fight/action film. Someone to tell you whether it’s going to look good or not. It’s always constructive, but they tell you the truth. Lang and the guys who work here always do exactly that. They helped me out on my Ty Burnham webseries, and there’s no way I could’ve done it without them. No way I could’ve made it look even half-way decent without their expertise. But with their knowledge and their insight, it came out great, especially for my first time doing an action film. I highly recommend them!

I initially took a 12 session basic combat training from Lang and Adam at CFS and was amazed by the number of things one needs to learn for film based combat. Each session was about 2 hours long and non stop learning and practicing. They will assess what you know regarding martial arts and use it in their choreography or if you are totally new they will teach you everything you need to know for your scene. We spent a lot of time learning how to sell a punch or make it look like you took a hit. How to fall, make your kicks and punches look better. It was an excellent experience. We filmed a practice fight scene and Toward the end of the sessions and we choreographed a full fight scene and then took a whole day to film it. Both came out excellent, all of my friend commented on how professional the scene looked. I then signed up for the 18 session weapons training which built off the first set of training learning reactions to cuts or hits with weapons. How to use the weapons in various ways for film. Some cool stuff that just looks cool to show off to your friends. Excellent session and a really good group of people working at CFS. I will totally be signing up for more training in the future and would recommend them to anyone from an actor looking to up his skill level for action movies to just a person wanting to make some cool fight scenes for fun. You will have a blast… !!
