The honey glazed walnut chicken was good, but a little too sweet. The green tea ice cream was really good. It was worth the money but it wasn’t the best.

The girl who answered the phone and took my order was very friendly & sweet. She quickly took down my order, made a recommendation, and got the correct address & contact information down on the first try(it’s a pet peeve when I call a place and they ask me to repeat a simple address a dozen times). I asked for the food to be delivered to a law firm, and they did so quickly and without trouble. The delivery is free within a 3 mile radius, and $ 3 if more than 3 miles. The dinner combo is $ 14 and you get A LOT. Food is really good too.

I’m being generous with one star! Today was my first time ordering from this place. We waited an hour for delivery. When I opened the containers I was very disappointed. I got chicken egg foo young $ 8.95 for two 4″ round pieces. Orange chicken was fatty meat with steamed rice. BBQ pork was just a small container with meat. No sauce or side included. Last but not least an order of plain chow mein which was dry and old tasting. My family didn’t finish eating this food. A waste of $ 34. I would not recommend this place and I will lose the menu. Just had to add that I have been sick all night. Eat at your own risk!

Excellent! I meant to take pics of the food but we ate it so fast. SN: I’m trying to find THE Chinese food BC there’s no Chinese like NY but boy did they con close and my new fav spot! I ordered deep fried chicken wings and pork fried rice. The wings were great, so tender and juicy. The pork was weird from what I’m use to NY style(seemed more raw then used for flavor) but still so much flavor in the rice! My bf loooooved the curry chicken and wings as well. Delivery was very fast as well. I just placed another order tonight on grubhub but I didn’t realized they close in 15 mins. So I called to apologize and cancel my order and they said they would def still delivery which I was shocked. Great customer service!

If you are over the age of 84 and your taste buds have gone to complete pooo and your teeth have fallen out then you should probably not even quite sure eat here. This isnt some mad customer who had bad service. The service wasnt at all the issue. I got my food delivered from grubhub and went the food came it was absolutely disgusting. This is a review specifically based on food and I promise I will never visit this restaurant.

The yummy gardens isn’t much to look at. In fact it’s possible you drive right by the place and never see it. If it wasn’t for having such a good Unilocal review I probably would have been 2 leary to even try it. Primarily a takeout place the yummy garden offers very good customer service and enormous portions of quality delicious food. It is one of those hole in the wall Long Beach finds that’s definitely worth a try. Other than the location being a little bit drab and the temperature being a little cold this was well worth the visit.

I ordered Yummy Garden for the first time tonight– and it was yummy!!! The food was delivered within the hour they had promised. I ordered steamed veggies with shrimp and veggie fried rice — - it was so good! They will be my go-to for Chinese food in the future!!!

Excellent food delivered fresh and in a timely manner. Chinese food was still hot upon delivery and you just can’t beat the quantity for the price. Be prepared to feast!

I’m not sure why there are negative reviews regarding service, because every time I come I’m treated very well and food is brought very quickly. Portions are always huge for the price you pay. Love this little place!

Food was good. Hot tea was rather blah although it steeped for a few minutes. My teacup smelled faintly of dish detergent. After I poured out the tea and wiped the cup with a napkin, the smell went away.

What a Surprise to find Shanghai food in Long Beach, The best food in China comes from Shanghai. I have worked in CHina for 189 years and My wife is from Shanghai. We usually go north to Monterrey Park for Chinese food if we don’t cook it . WE ate at the restaurant. service was good. We order the med corn soup. the portion was a large in other restaurants, fried rice and hot broccoli chicken. All of the dishes where perfect to our liking. I am not sure what the food would be on take out but I suggest sit in and I am sure you will be satisfied. WE have eaten at chens on broadway but they seem to have Americanized there Chinese food and not as fresh or perfectly cooked as the YUMMY Garden

Best little Chinese spot in the LBC. Not one of the ‘fast Chinese food ’ spots where you orange chicken has been sitting out on a steam bar since Mao was running China. All food is hot, fresh, and made to order. Lunch specials are great priced and lots of food. Veggies are always fresh and crispy. Best hot and sour soup in Long Beach. This is my go to spot for sure.

mayo mayo mayo mayo mayo mayo mayo mayo no mayo This is the second time I’ve ordered for delivered and the food has been unsatisfactory, I ordered fried things and I got mostly fried flour, a few chicken slices. This time I got walnut shrimp and the recipe tasted like mayo and sugar, I couldn’t even finish my food, for 20 dollars I received an empty stomach and an unsatisfied taste palate, had food here twice would not go again. Don’t take my word for it

I ordered the Orange Chicken and Beef with Snow Peas & Water Chestnuts… both excellent! I was dining alone, but now I have enough food for another 2 nights! Very generous with the servings and the lady who delivered my food was very nice. l would prefer the food to be a bit warmer, so they might want to invest in some insulated containers because the styrofoam just couldn’t keep it hot. Not their fault. It is what it is. It’s delivery! Over all, the food quality was great, fair priced and I would order again. :)

I ordered here because my usual cheap delivery Chinese food place was closed that day. I put in an online order and called over an hour later to find out the status. The man who answered didn’t understand me and kept asking if I wanted to place an order. I was just trying to see if my order would ever arrive! Finally we got on the same page and he said«It’s not there yet.» Ummm. Yeah that’s why I was calling! I asked when it would be there and he said about 45 minutes. Are you freaking kidding me??! I asked to cancel the order because I was going to go drive through Taco Bell or something at this point. He wouldn’t let me cancel it. Surprisingly, the delivery girl showed up about 10 minutes after my extremely annoying phone call. I ordered the Lo Mein and Hot and Sour soup. The Lo Mein was filled with MSG and I was sick within an hour. The soup was not bad but upon a second look it had what looked like pellets of dog food throughout it. In general I was obviously unimpressed… And sick so I will never make that desperate attempt again. Go to JJ Chinese Express… If you’re looking for cheap chinese delivery this is the place to go.

Simply the best Chinese restaurant in all of Long Beach and I dare say in a 15 mile radius! Great home cooked classic Chinese dishes. The wonton soup is to die for and is a meal into itself . Don’t let the low brow décor fool you.

~~~Chinese Food To-Go~~~ My co-workers and I wanted to change things up a little by ordering Chinese Food at a nearby restaurant. This place delivered, so kudos for delivering! We usually order from Big E Pizza or King Taco(pick up only). Well…we ordered the following: Combo meal w/BBQ ribs, beef satay, batter fried shrimp, & fried wontons. This came with wonton soup & extra fried wonton crisps. ~This meal was just A-Ok. Mongolian Beef w/o veggies. This came w/steamed rice. ~Very plain, not their fault… this is what one of my co-workers ordered by mistake… he did not bother to look at the menu I sent him via phone. ~meat was soft, A-okay…maybe the dish could’ve been better w/the veggies it’s usually cooked with. Combo Crispy Noodles. This came with shrimp, chicken, beef, veggies, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts. ~I was impressed with amount of veggies & meats but very disappointed with their special sauce that softened the noodles. So disappointed that I had to do a «Do Over» Chinese food take out the very next day at one of my fave Go-To Chinese Restaurant. I’m sorry, in my opinion, Yummy Garden is not so yummy… Maybe one day I will give this place another shot. Perhaps dining in might be better. I almost forgot to mention… they give 10% off next visit w/positive Unilocal review.
