Used my Living Social Restaurant Plus promotion to get a Milk Barn Special 12″ with mushrooms to qualify for the $ 10 minimum. Very meaty sandwich which also includes a small bag of potato chips. Definitely a good value!!! One more $ 10 purchase and I get $ 20 back from Restaurant Plus.

The milk barn pizza and dairy is what remains from an actual dairy! You know. The kind with a small convenient milk store drive thru and a real dairy in the back? Yea that kind. A small slice of a bygone era you might remember if you were around back then. I ordered the milk barn special. Capicola, mortadella and mozzarella. At first glance this sandwich may not look like the biggest or most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen but let me tell you, It is Fricking delicious! Old School Italian tasting yummy-ness! The place is literally a hole in the wall so there’s only a walk up window and a couple of benches outside but what I ate was great! I hear the meatball and pastrami are also good as well. Next time you’re craving a sandwich go give this place a try! You will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

Spaghetti and meatballs with garlic cheese bread, yum. The pepperoni pizza was very good. Everything was fresh and piping hot. We will be repeat customers.

Lady taking orders is extremely rude. I’ve been here before and loved the sand which. But am never coming back after dealing with her.

I used to like this place but recently it’s gone down hill. Poor customer service! The lady on the phone was rude and kept getting my order wrong when I had called in. Then, after she«corrected» it, the order was still wrong when I picked it up! When I called them back after I got home to have them fix it, the guy who answered called me by the wrong name and then got THAT order incorrect and was expecting to charge me for THEIR mistake. Forget this place. It’s the last time I waste money on oily pasta sauce and yellow lettuce.

The worst customer service I’ve ever had in any business ever! Went to try them out with my wife and there was one person ahead of us placing an order. The person behind the counter, a girl, took her sweet time with the person not even looking at us. Didn’t bother calling for the other person there to take or order at the other open window. The person ahead of us took seventeen minutes until we finally got tired and left. Don’t respect bad service and I wouldn’t take my dog there to eat. Handle your service!!!

Food is always great here. The tri tip sandwich is a must try. Prices a fair and customer service never fails.

Place is old school and divey looking. Has been around since at least ’87. Owners and straight to the point, but helpful. The sandwich /pizza shop is behind the drive through liquor-dairy. I got the Milk Barn Special Sandwich. It’s a solid sub with soft & moist bread. No nonsense and gets the job done. They take their time making your meal, but it’s woth the wait. I’ll come back to try the pizza and pasta.

The Veggie Subs are the best in the west. The guys that make the sandwiches ROCK! I’ve been going there for years. The lady who takes your order is a huge cranky pants. I thought it was me. She talks that way on the phone taking customers orders. I feel bad for the customer. She can’t answer the phone and run your credit card at the same time because it uses the same line. If she answers the phone after you place your order but before paying you get to listen and hope it’s a small order. The best way to eat at Milk Barn is phone in your order and pay with cash.

I came here for the tri tip, but they had unfortunately ran out of tri tip. They had a special for a large 4-topping pizza for $ 19.95, so my fiancé and I ended up ordering a pepperoni and bacon pizza with garlic and mushrooms. The cheese, hands down, was the best part of the pizza. I could definitely feel the freshness from the first bite. The toppings were also really great, and the pizza had a lot of both the pepperoni and the bacon, as well as the mushrooms and the garlic flavor was definitely prevalent. Their pizza crust was tasty as well, especially with a side of ranch to dip it into. The whole pizza was really rich so I could only eat a couple of slices. A large can last two people a few days, so I would definitely say you could consider this a value. The only bad part about this restaurant is the location. Parking is difficult, especially if you have a larger sized car or truck. There aren’t too many spots, and the parking lot is fairly narrow. You may have to end up parking on the street and walking. Also, if you want to eat at the restaurant, you have to eat outside. They do have some flies buzzing around, which can get a little annoying, but overall, sitting outside wasn’t too bad. If I decide to come back when they have tri tip, then I will update my review.

This place has some of the best meatball subs around, pizza is great here. nice quick service. Parking is limited but you can always park in the neighborhood if you have trouble finding a spot. Have to try it’s a hole in the wall. Located behind a drive threw liquor store. But you will not be disappointed. the tri tip is also delicious with the onion and peppers something you have to try. My son had the hot dogs he said they are also good good size and tasty.

Based on the ratings I had high hopes for this place. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza and what a disappointment. It was not very good. I was a little hesitant to check it out due to all the comments on the customer service but I didnt have any problem with that, the pizza was just awful.

I ordered the Meatball sandwich and it was different from the ones I’m used to but in the end it is a fine example of the venerable meatball sandwich. The meatball is actually chopped(compared to the actual meat«ball» that I’m used to) but it does make the task of eating a MB sandwich much easier. The usual presentation(and the one I’m used to) is this monsterous sandwich with big meatballs and marinara and cheese which ends up being a big messy mashup toward the end. Surprisingly, the MB sandwich is compact and well presented with the cheese being infused into the meatball sauce. I ordered the 8″ but they also offer it in the 12″ version. I was really impressed with the toasted bun which remained crisp throughout the meal. It didn’t become this soggy mess that you would need a spoon to finish it off with. The flow of ordering here is you can either by a drink at the first building(the actual Milk Barn) and proceed to the rear building to where you can place your order. There are a few benches here if you want to eat here also. It truly is a great MB sandwich and will be the place to come to for my MB sandwich needs. — Highly recommend!

Woman who helped me was short and not overly friendly. Not outright rude like some other reviewers are reporting but wouldn’t be shocked if she was occasionally. Got a large meatball sandwhich. Was charged extra for the toppings without being told such as bell peppers, onions etc. No big deal, but when I came to pick up the order she told me $ 9.45 and after I handed her my credit card she silently took it and ran it for $ 9.95. I understand the extra charge for credit, but at least tell me as I would have paid cash. Sandwhich was reasonable. Not actually«meatballs» as much as ground beef mixture in a sandwhich, but it was reasonably good. Wouldn’t come back as was too expensive for how good it was.

Pretty good place if you are looking for meatball sandwiches, and other cold/hot sandwiches. The pizza’s are ok :) Havent tried most of them just the pepperoni & cheese :) But it is a good place over all if your a local for long beach/lkwd area ;) always call ahead of time during lunch or dinner busy hours, so you dont have to wait too long. ;)

I always order the same thing… And am always pleased with the Milk Barn special. I order it toasted. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is if you want a beverage you have to walk across the parking lot(20 feet) to get it, at the drive thru dairy. I don’t mind the walk, I don’t like two charges for a meal.

Okay, best meatball sandwich in Long Beach. Perfect flavor, bread and tomato sauce. Recently tried the pizza and very happy with the crust, sauce and ingredients. The staff has always been friendly and efficient. It’s a regular place for us, and will continue to be.

Can I just say how the lady who works here is super rude? I can say that and two of my employees can testify to that. She yelled at us over the phone where people standing around us could hear her. Ridiculous! We were trying to phone in a large order and first she told us she was too busy and to call back. I gave her 20 minutes we tried again, where we ended up getting a lecture on how they package their food and why plastic bags were not used because they fly around and pollute the land. I was also shocked how while on the phone with me, she had the audacity to complain that a customer came up to the window and rudely interrupted her while she was trying to take a phone order. I hope that customer walked away. In the end our office decided to never eat here from now on because it’s not worth the hassle to put up with that crazy lady for a mediocre sandwich. Go across the street to Foggia Deli better customer service with awesome sandwiches. The owner of Milk Barn is nuts to keep this lady in the front of the house where she can have any customer contact. Maybe she is the owner, none the less we will never buy another meal from this shack.

2.5 rounded up. I may not be a regular, but I am a Lakewood local. And my last visit left a bitter taste in my mouth. The good. The pastrami sandwich is still my favorite. Tri-tip is just okay for me but probably would of been better with the BBQ sauce. Skip the Italian salad dressing and try something else if you order a salad. The bad. Customer service! The lady that took my order was just plain rude. But to the regulars that ordered before and after me, total 180. Really? Lastly we were overcharged. Not cool. We were charged for 12″ sandwiches, but were given 8″. Unfortunately we didn’t realize it till we got home. :(Not worth the drive back. Note: It is advertised as cash only but they do take credit card with a 50 cent charge. I’m a little surprised only because they have MOGL. Overall, it will probably be awhile if/when we come back. Meh we’ll see.

I stumbled upon The Milk Barn in September 2003, my freshman year of high school and the only one I spent at Lakewood High. Back then, this was a popular spot for us high schoolers. Now, I love a good pizza, and I will happily host a pig out sesh at my house if necessary to get pizza when I’m craving it. It’s carbs and cheese, hello heaven in my mouth! This little pizza shack is located behind the Milk Barn Dairy and the AM/PM gas station on the corner of Del Amo and Bellflower Blvd. Literally if you don’t know it’s there, you’ll miss it. Anyhow, it’s been well over a decade since my 1st slice here at the Milk Barn and it’s just as delicious now, as it was then, if not better. I love the Tri-Tip pizza, and their plain pepperoni and cheese is loaded with cheesy goodness, and nicely sized pepperonis. I’ve never had to wait more than 15 – 20 minutes, even on a Friday night for my orders. You can call your order in ahead of time, so lessen your wait if you’re seriously in such a rush, or you can hang out and wait a few minutes for your meal. Thank goodness you have to wait, because at least you know your order is fresh! Who doesn’t love a fresh pizza? All that melted gooey cheese. mmm! The BBQ Tri-Tip has Ron’s BBQ sauce, cilantro, strips of tri-tip, tons of cheese(extra on on mine hehe) and french onions(none of those for me thanks). Dough is fresh and not too doughy when you bite into it, just delicious carby dough. The lady that takes your order is almost always very friendly, and is only rude if you’re impatient with her, or you rush her. After almost 13 years of being a loyal customer, you just have to be polite and wait. The fact that it’s made to order, duh you’re gonna have to wait. The sandwiches are also really tasty and flavorful, I love the pastrami, but it’s not as good as the ones from across the street. Boo. No drinks here either, so if you want a soda, hop over to the dairy or the gas station. Sometimes your order is served up in a cardboard box(could be anything, like how Costco does!), and if you’re staying there to eat be warned it’s VERYLIMITED. And parking is literally right where you sit. Very small location, very good pizza. I would recommend viewing the menu online, or grab a menu to take home and call your order in to limit your wait time, and get your grub on sooner(^_^) Good service, yummy pizza. I can’t complain, I’ve never had a bad experience here though, so I’m grateful for that. Obviously I’ll be back, it’s my go to pizza spot that isn’t a chain location!

This cute little pizza place is located behind a drive through dairy on Del Almo and Bellflower Right after the gas station before the cul-de-sac starts. I’ve driven by this place many times and have been wanting to try it. Finally one day I was craving pizza(doesn’t happen often) so I decided to check it out. I should have read the Unilocal reviews before coming here but my tummy was calling and I was near by. First you should view the menu online, read reviews before ordering and when you’re ready order by phone even if you plan to eat there because it’s a 30 minute wait or more. The lady that works here is not very helpful at answering questions nor is she very happy. She seems a bit overwhelmed and irritated. If you’re asking questions, don’t know your order and the phone rings. She’s going to TELL you, not ask you, that she’s have to take the phone order because it’s ringing. We looked behind us and a line started, we let them know she was on the phone. One of a regular I guess said they already know how service is here and ordered ahead. After taking the phone order, we are now an order behind the order just placed. We ordered 2 pizza, 1 cheese and 1BBQ Tri-Tip, and medium spaghetti. The lady told us there is 2 order ahead of ours and it would be 30 minutes and if we still want it, that there’s 2 orders ahead of us and we have to wait, then continued to ask if we were sure. I’m like«YES.» Geesh lady do you want us to buy from you or not. My friend who is more high maintenance already was upset I brought her here, I couldn’t stop her completely from making remarks, and customer service did not help her attitude either. The cheese pizza was ok, spaghetti kinda pricey, its just regular spaghetti and each protein is a charge, ex: $ 1/meatball. The BBQ Tri-Tip pizza was AMAZEBALLS! Pizza dough topped with ROn’s BBQ sauce, cheese, french onions and small sliced pieces of tri-tip. YUMMMMMMMMMMY! If you want good service, don’t expect it here. If you want good BBQ pizza this is the place! I would come here again for the BBQ pizza and to try the sanwhich but I would order ahead and avoid all the unwelcoming vibes.(^_^)

I ordered the roast beef sub special which cost $ 6.81. An 8 inch sandwich with everything on it The bread is soft and fresh, plenty of roast beef and the tomatoes, olives and onions actually tasted like tomatoes, olives and onions. Simple sandwich made and tasted really good. Special also comes a small side of potato salad and soda. Milk Barn is highly underrated.

First off let me tell you this place is not visible from the street. It’s located behind a drive thru dairy. I’ve tried the pastrami and tri-tip sandwich and it is very tasty. You can keep the potato salad. Next trip here, I’ll try their pizza since Unilocalers gave a good review. The service could be a lot better.

Today I visited the Milk Barn after 10 years used to come here with my dad, the place is still a little shack behind an old school dairy. Today I ordered the meatball sub special. The bread was nice and buttery, meatballs were juicy and the marinera sauce had the right consistency. The potatoe salad was good as well, didn’t finish all though, because I dislike the big potatoe chunks. The service was what you expect in a little pizza place in the ally. The girl who takes your order seems unhappy. And when I asked for a pizza special she pointed at the rack where I guess they usually serve it and rolled her eyes at me. (Don’t like her) Flies, plenty of flies to keep you company but if you finish your food in 2 mins you are ok. Might come back… idk?

came here a couple of months back. I went to school with a friend who worked here, As her Uncle Owns the place. she convinced me to go and try it, and well one day coming from Del Valle Park with the boys, My husband said let’s try it. Salad was ok, nothing to brag about. Pastrami and Meatball sandwhich was very flavorful, pretty decent amount of pastrami and the bread was not hard. as for the potatoe salad :/very small and not tasty, unfortunately I tossed it. it’s a little Pricey, i would recommend trying it once and if you like it come back for more.

Based on lots of reviews we decided to visit the Milk Barn. I like funky old places and the store part of it fits the bill. I ordered a turkey sandwich and she got pasta. She liked the pasta, but I’ve made better sandwiches at home. The turkey was one of those processed kinds where it is sliced off a roll and tastes like it comes from a can. She later got sick and believed it was from the pasta, which had a bit of an aftertaste, as she described it. The other thing that bugged us, quite literally was flies. Yes, I understand that you are cooking food and it tends to attract bugs, but how about putting fly paper or something to help control the fly population, maybe something by the trash bin which is nearby. We really wanted to like you, Milk Barn, but you let us down.
