While I was at work the other day, I had mentioned how I was getting sick of the same old thing, sick and tired of having the same old kind of sandwiches. And my coworker told me about the surfer Sands in Long Beach. They had asked if I had ever had a «goofy foot» sandwich. I had responded with no what is on that? They told me it was a meatless sandwich that was so good and hearty you would feel like you had ate a meaty one. Cream cheese, pineapple, apples, walnuts, raisins, crasins, and lettuce and provolone cheese. Three slices of provolone cheese I might add! When they first started telling me about the sandwich I thought«well that just sounds weird». But then I was intrigued by it and I asked where I could get one and they had directed me to this place. As soon as I got my break I went to my Unilocal app and looked it up! Told my mother-in-law that we needed to try it and about three days later found myself having the goofy foot sandwich! I was not disappointed in it, it was very good sized and a very good price. I cannot wait to have another one and to try some of the other sandwiches on the menu. My mother in law had the basic cheesesteak and I had a bite of hers and it was also very good.

I love sandwiches, especially on a hot day — but it takes a really good one for me to actually pay someone else to make it. I will gladly pay Surfer Sands, I only wish they were closer to me! I had the Philly Cheese Steak and my hubby had the Wipe Out sandwich — both were sooooo delicious and really big. We could only eat one half at a time! I read recently their Philly was voted one of the best sandwhiches of the northwest and it did not dissapoint. Be forwarned though — they sell out of the philly bread quickly on busy weekends — we came down for the Sandcastle Festival and they were out very early on in the day, this weekend was the Kite Festival and I got THELAST one on Sunday afternoon, the least busy day(yay lucky me!!) so if you want one — get there early! You can tell the bread for both sandwiches is homemade — it’s so light and fluffy soft, it’s a treat all on it’s own. The ingredients in between the bread slices is also fresh and crisp(Wipe Out) and the Philly was hot and gooey — which is exactly what I wanted for a good Philly. They also have smoothies and«Big Salads» however, we didn’t try those, but the sandwhiches were so good, I’ll for sure be trying other menu items next time. We will definately be making this one of our traditional stops when we’re in town, which is quite often.

I love this place the most out of all of the sandwich places around here. Comparing this to the subway around here, I think this is the god out of all the sandwiches places around Long Beach WA.

This place has really great sandwiches! I would absolutely recommend their Philly Cheesesteak. Bread is baked fresh everyday, and the owner is a really welcoming guy.

This is the best food stand we’ve been to in the area so far. Smoothies are $ 4. Kids’ ham and cheese is $ 4. Cheesesteaks are $ 8. The bread is fresh and the cheesesteaks are not drowned in sauce.

This little gem bakes their own bread. Soooo good! We ordered a big kahuna one day and went back for two more on our way out of town the next!!! I will tell all my friends to stop in here when visiting long beach.

We come here three times a week when we are in the area! Always great! The bread is insanely good! Sometimes, like today, we can’t decide and end up with two sandwiches each! At least dinner is covered! I regularly get the Mushroom Steak and South End. We also get the Malibu all the time! Great veggie option! Unless you add turkey, which I do and it’s delicious!

Tried to go there 2 days in row and they weren’t open… ever. :(this had such good reviews we were so excited! But they must need more employees, they had a help wanted sign outside and never opened ;( Disappointed.

If it’s a sandwich you’re craving, this is the place to be! Hands down, best sandwich in Long Beach. You won’t find better bread or fresher ingredients. The owner is friendly and his little helper is just the best. Top-notch service! :)

Very good sandwiches. They claim to have authentic Philly cheesesteaks but being from PA I couldn’t really believe it so I went for a cold sandwich. The bread was really good and after being on vacation for a few days it was nice to eat something quick and familiar. It’s right on the corner so we were able to bike there from our hotel on a side street without being on the main rd.

We really do love this place. The cheesesteak is as close to a Philly suburb cheesesteak as you’ll find. I say that b/c Philly proper it’s a different deal with Pat and Gino’s and the wonder of cheez whiz. However you hit a suburb deli and it’s a great thinly sliced chip steak, gooey melted white cheese, minced onion and soft fresh baked hoagie roll. These guys do a great job as well as making the bread themselves. They are really nice and seem to have their system down. We’ve had a number of other sandwiches as well as the fruit smoothies. All tasty. Warning: they don’t always open on time and they close when they’re done. I’ve come right at open, had to wait and didn’t get a really fresh roll. I suggest waiting until they are in the swing of it and popping around.

Had the Big Kahuna cheesesteak. Not enough insides and not enough cheese. Needed salt and pepper to the meat. Bread was good. Service was friendly. Not worth the $ 8 for one large.

Small subs, but, if you’re looking for an East Coast quality sandwich, this place is definitely on the right track. Certainly not amazing, but, by Long Beach Peninsula standards, it’s the bee’s knees. They bake the hoagies in-house.

Wow!!! Interesting and delicious multiple options for the vegetarian and vegan folks. Our 7-year old son had his first steak sandwich, though there are also plenty if other options for kids as well. So delicious and satisfying, we will definitely be back!

My wife and I are staying on the coast for a few weeks. We read the Unilocal reviews and thought I would give it a try. We are very glad we did. This is one of the great roadside experiences of days gone by. The owner is on the other side of the counter taking orders and making sandwiches. Ingredients are incredibly fresh and tasty. Bring your big appetite and cash they don’t accept credit cards
