Saw some surfboards through the window after stopping by The Academy for my selvedge denim repair. Nice stocks on boards and casual shoes. I’m not much of a surfer, but my buddies are, so I’ll be back for sure with company! I like what y’all done to the place, keep it up!

This place has been a long time staple in long beach. I didn’t catch his name but he was super helpful and made us aware of the sales going on which made it a little more appealing to buy. I mean, who doesn’t like a sale? I hadn’t been In a while but I will be back for sure.

I went in here looking for proper, which it turns out is now closed on Sundays. Luckily I found this interesting little shop, which carries a nice selection of stussy, stussy deluxe, Levi’s vintage… oh yeah, nike SB as well. A couple other brands, including Patagonia, diamond supply, and a local brand, livevil. Kevin, the associate while I was in, was helpful and talkative. The only negative I can think of is the limited selection of women’s clothing.

3.5STARS For all the sneakerheads who love high-end urban clothing. Seams is in between Proper and their clothing store. Seams(est. 2003) is not only a clothing boutique in the Downtown Long Beach(DTLB) Artsy District Area, but they also cater and supports a couple of the artworks and murals as well. It’s nice to come in «oooohhh & ahhhhh» at the displayed artwork. From the other Unilocal reviews, I don’t know why other people have had bad experiences here, but the customer service here is decent and the people here are pretty chill. I’ve been coming to Seams since 2007 and the people working the area always seem to help me or my boyfriend out on sizes or whatever they have in stock. No complaints here! Yes the prices can be a bit pricey, but then again that’s what you’re paying for the«brand» and the fact that it’s an URBAN clothing boutique. Apparently a lot of tourists frequent this venue(and Proper) just to purchase the illest urban wear. They also have shoes, sunglasses, travel bags and wallets here. This store mostly caters to guys, but they do have a couple items for women as well. But I mostly find that they have Stussy and Nike items for women. BRANDS you can find here: Stussy, Levis, Crooks & Castles, Pendleton, Nike, Nixon, Patagonia, Barbour, Ray Bans, Canada Goose, Penfield, Clarks, Oakley You can shop online, but the items that they show online are quite limited to what you can find in the store. If you do shop here, keep in mind that parking is metered(coins only) and some slots have a maximum of 30 mins. I wouldn’t mind coming back to Seams to peruse the goods or to purchase a gift for a friend.

Gotta check this place out while walking in-between Proper shops… that being said good luck trying to find a time when there isn’t a «back in 20» sign up, a working credit card machine to buy products, or salesman who actually gives a crap about customers in the store. I gotta give it to them though, they DO carry old school re-issue boards. They had a couple I liked but were easily $ 5 – 10 bux overpriced. Selection in clothes were alright, just didn’t cop any. There’s potential in this store but the lazy attitude might not keep this store around long enough. Hopefully it’s still around the next time I’m in Long Beach

Awkward. Not the best boutique I’ve ever been to but it was alright. No much selection for girls.
