Been here twice, loved it both times. Awesome food, with some fairly original dishes and great ambience. Great for large groups if you can get the table in the side room, as it seats something like 20 people.

This place was a lot of fun. Just a warning. If you are looking for an intimate place to eat, this ain’t it. Very open with a few rows of picnic tables to encourage strangers to take a moment to say«Hi.» Our waiter/bartender was super friendly. He gave my wife some samples of beers to try as she only likes a limited type. She found one she loved(Kors Hefe I think). I opted for their hard cider which as awesome. Short and sweet, everyone loved loved loved the food. Garlic fries, awesome. Onion rings, awesome but not typical. Spaghetti awesome. Half pound burger awesome. Pizza awesome. PGPG sandwich awesome. BBQ Korean pork Sandwich awesome. You just can’t go wrong here. This would be a place I would bring a lot of people to have a good time. We came because my son chose it for his birthday. We will be back. Please eat here a lot to keep this place going until our next trip to Long Beach.

Okay the food was really good but the service sucked. Our waiter was really weird. He was lame dude who tried cracking jokes which weren’t funny at all. And he made us feel like he was doing us a favor by waiting our table but that’s his job so… Yeah

Chef Alex and the rest of the staff served up some of the best grub I’ve had. We started with the jalapeño poppers that seriously didn’t need to be dipped. Caryn got the Karl B. Marx melt it was delicious, I got the bacon 3 cheese burger, also delicious. To top it off the home made tirimizu was just right to end this dive food binge

If I had to describe it in two words it would be: Cheat Meal This place specializes in gastro-pub quality junk grub(oxymoron!). Love the open atmosphere and seating. Also an outdoor patio for people watching! What we ordered: –Karl Marx Melt– Korean beef, cheese, on grilled buttered bread. Well done, Rebel Bite. Comfort food to the extreme. My friend loved it, but I thought it was a bit on the heavy side. And greasy. So, so greasy. If you’re looking for greasy eats, that’s the best bet for you. I’m glad we shared it or else I would have had to been rolled out of the restaurant. –Coffee Ribs– winner of the night! So much flavor packed in these teeny ribs! I could have eaten a whole rack! I liked the garlic fries it came with, too. Same with the coleslaw. I would probably ask to see if I could get a different side with it. Maybe bread and a regular side salad? –Sausage pizza– And the pizza. Meh. We ordered a sausage pizza, and it just looked and tasted like a kiddie freezer pizza. I think the issue was the dough. I think a pizza can be a winner with toppings, but it can easily flounder with bad dough. I think it was a dough issue, maybe add some spices to it or something? I don’t know, I’m an eater, not a chef: P Happy hour specials are amazing!!! Definitely come here if just for that! Also, this is not a bad rap to the staff, but to the management. They just need to hire more people! The poor servers were working themselves into the ground: taking orders, refilling waters, getting beers, running food over and cleaning up. For a full restaurant they only had 2 servers. Food service took forever. But I would never get mad at the waiters because it’s pretty obvious that they’re just way understaffed. Hire some more peeps, tweak the pizza and you have a 5 star in DTLBC!

Food was solid,(I had a pepperoni pizza and my friend had the meatball parmesan sandwich. We ordered pigpen fries to split too, but never got them, more on that later.) the beer selection was very good. Conveniently located, cool interior, but for some reason 90s alt rock was the musical choice the evening we stopped in. The chief issue for me was the lack of service. We came in at 5:30pm during happy hour. There was one table of like 6 or 7 people and a pair of two tops upon arriving. Nothing crazy going on. We grabbed menus and sat ourselves and it appeared that one man only was in charge of the entire FOH operation for the evening; He bartended, served, bussed, and ran his own food and drinks. Bizarre. There is no way this should be the case ever, especially during what could potentially be peak hours. I’m not sure if this is how things are done here all the time, or if they are in the midst of staffing issues, but if it is the case, then the operation ought to be changed to counter style service by having guests order at the bar, and people can seat themselves, and the person behind the bar can take orders and pour drinks. In any case, the server was completely overwhelmed by having to do everything. We got the pizza and sandwich and never received the fries, we assumed they were on their way because maybe he was unable to carry all three items, but no, they never came. He never put the order for those in. He didn’t return to the table after initially dropping off the food at all until we were almost finished. I had wanted another beer, but that desire came and went. My friend wanted a side of ranch to finish his meal, and we asked for it, he didn’t bring any. A woman sat at our table next to us(the seating is mostly picnic style) and must have sat there for well over ten minutes and she was completely ignored before she had to get up and go to the bar to get his attention for service. It also took us forever and a day to close out. Long story short, the food and drink was worth returning for, but the service was dreadful.

Monday open mic night, a variety of beers, great service and food! Need I say more?! Must try: pigpen fries, buffalo wings, any pie, and dirty sketti. Don’t forget the jenga churros! Compliments to chef Alex!

To set the scene, it was a Monday, I was alone in Long Beach, and needed a place to grub after working. What was going to be Pizza and a Beer, turned into four hours of entertainment! Here’s the low-down. The menu was awesome! They have pulled pork sandwhiches, pizza, and other GastroPub-esque dishes. I got an IPA to start, and that was not a light decision to make since they have roughly 30 beers on tap! Just as I finish my pizza, and my beer, a young hipster girl started setting up some mic stands. I asked the bartender, and indeed there was an Open Mic Night here! Well, that’s enough reason to stay for one more beer! I enjoyed the sometimes not so good singing and very rough and offensive comedy sharply contrasted by some amazing vocalists and laugh out loud funny people. The night started slipping away, and I ended up staying until the very last performer. The guests and staff were accepting and friendly, and the comedians made sure to comment on the fact I was the only party of one in the building.(But I have a sense of humor, so it made me laugh too!) I’ll be back some day soon! Hopefully on another Monday night!

This place has an exceptional beer list and the staff is very knowledgeable about it. Our server was very friendly and chatted with us for a bit about the place. He had several good recommendations, one of which I tried: the Karl Marx sandwich. I went with a friend and they were happy to make culinary accommodations for his much more adventurous palette. The server was also able to recommend a good beer pairing with both of our meals(and let us try tasters of ones we wanted). The ambience is good with communal tables. I’d totally recommend this for a weekend lunch spot or a casual date setting. Prices were about on par with other spots that serve the same items, if not slightly higher. Overall it was a good time and I’ll definitely be returning.

Been here a few times. Good beer list, but the food is just ok. Several things bother me about the food, starting with that they do not have mustard. The last time, I ordered a triple cheese bacon burger medium rare and it came out medium well. And the bacon was just so so. Come for the beer and maybe order some snack food, but don’t count on it for a meal. Out.

Pizza is SOOOOO good… not what you would expect from a gastropub. This is almost like a pizza parlor/gastropub instead. My husband, his brother, and his brother’s gf ordered beer and were pleased with their selection. Service was great, food came out quickly, beer was brought quickly, and serves was very attentive to when refills or another round was needed. He even almost had me sold on a deep fried oreo for dessert but my better judgement kept me from ordering a heart attack disguised as deliciousness. Can’t wait to come back here next time we are in the LB area.

Wanted to try a different pizza place so my wife and I came to Rebel Bite. First off, they have a solid tap beer selection, over twenty. We started off with the Dirt Wolf Imperial Double IPA and an order of their curry fries. The Dirt Wolf was delicious, highly recommended. The curry fries had a nice level of hot, went well with the beer. I ordered another Dirt Wolf and my wife got the Stone Red IPA which she liked a lot. A house band showed up to play which really added to the ambiance. Still hungry we ordered the Karl B. Marx pizza with marinated beef, caramelized onions, and basil leaves. Very delicious. The meat was so tender. Elizabeth was our server and the service was good. Apparently they have music every Wednesday so we will definitely be back!

BESTPIZZA in Long Beach! One of the best places to eat in Long Beach hands down. My friends and I came here on Sunday. We like to walk here after a couple Old Fashioneds at The Blind Donkey. All we knew is we wanted the Lemongrad Pizza because it is eggplant, tomatillo, green chili pepper HEAVEN on a crust. Anyway we wanted to try another pizza as well and Jeff(our waiter) recommended the Gorgonzola Caramelized Pear Pie. We ordered it, we started to have second thoughts and almost asked if we could get something else instead but we thought«eh, it’ll be good.» And that’s what you are probably thinking, «it’ll be good.» BUTNO. Its not just good. ITSONEOFTHEBESTEXPLOSIONSOFFLAVOR you will ever set your mouth on. GET the Gorgonzola Caramelized Pie. Do it. You came to Unilocal for food recs right? Well here you go. This is it. Do it. I’m usually underwhelmed by the food here in Long Beach. Keep seeing«trendy/progressive» restaurants that feign as «good food» with a huge price tag slapped on it. Rebel Bite ACTUALLY has amazing food. The kind that you eat one day and can’t stop thinking about how much you want to go back the next. They actually pay attention to the mixture of flavors on their pizza and it’s damn good. Now, as if that wasn’t enough they have a huge selection of craft beers on tap that they rotate periodically. And during Happy Hour they are all $ 4 bucks. FOUR dollars. Most gastropubs you will pay twice that much for a good beer. The service here is always great. Jeff our server on this particular night was awesome. Super friendly and engaging. He apologized for taking so long once he got to our table. I thought it was unnecessary because we really hadn’t been waiting long! My only wish is they would deliver! That would just be the cherry on top!

Great spot. I normally get their Spicy Wings with an order of Garlic Fries. The Spicy Wings are a bit sweeter than spicy. Don’t think buffalo sauce, its more of a Honey-Habanero with a kick. Besides the wings every month they come out with a new beer list. The staff is always welcoming and extremely knowledge when it comes to the beers on tap. The Grill Cheese and Tomato soup is also an excellent choice. When I decided to explore more of the menu, I’ll update this review. All and all a great place that makes good comfort food.

Worst food I’ve had in Long Beach. I ordered a bacon cheese burger. The bacon was raw, the bun was very soggy and fell apart. I returned it and the waitress brought it back to the cook and I could hear the cook laughing. It was the worst dining experience I think I have ever had. You can tell whoever was cooking had no formal training and really didn’t care. It’s so sad to see someone dump their money into a business and have it ruined by staff who just doesn’t care. The waitress was very sweet and was SO embarrassed by this. I told them I didn’t not want the food to be discounted and I would pay in full price but I did receive a discount. I wouldn’t return

The hubby and I have been here a couple of times, and we haven’t been disappointed. The tomato soup is quite yummy. The last time we were here, I had a grilled cheese with caramelized onions and an egg, and it was oh sooooo good! I honestly don’t remember what the hubby had, but who cares when I had such a yummy grilled cheese!

My husband and I decided to try this place while we were out bike riding. Craft beer selection was excellent and the $ 4 a pint price can’t be beat. We had the chilighetti and Karl B. Marx sandwich. Both were delicious. I never would have thought of pairing chili and spaghetti. This is a chill little café with a unique menu. Service was excellent — our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about their beer and food offerings. I’m so excited to find a fun place to go in Long Beach that isn’t super crowded and expensive. I recommend giving Rebel Bite a try.

Better than your above average pizza joint. They make tasty artisan pizzas however, even the basics(that pizza sauce) has a fresh flavor that makes my tummy happy. I have ventured and tried their sandwhich which are a nice hefty treat. Loads of cheese and meat to fill your tummy right up.

Now this is my kind of place! Casual atmosphere, good pizza, extensive beer list, large portions, great prices and great service. $ 4 for any beer on tap, with lots of top-notch breweries to choose from, and you can get a personal pizza for $ 3 plus 25-cent toppings. You really can’t beat that these days! The rest of the menu is really good too. My wife got the Hoity Toity Melt, which is probably the most awesome vegetarian option I can ever recall tasting. Masses of cheese along with a bit of tomatoes and caramelized onions grilled on some damn good sourdough bread. I ate half of it. On top of my own pizza, some jalapeño poppers, a bit of garlic fries, a beer float(vanilla ice cream in a vanilla porter), and some deep fried oreos. Gluttony at its finest. No doubt I’ll be back here the next time I find myself in the area.

We ate here when the place first opened a couple years ago and hadn’t been back because both the melts and the garlic fries were oozing with grease. However we decided to give it another shot this week to try the burgers, and boy are we glad! The burgers were both seasoned to perfection and were served on some sort of delicious artisanal-looking bread with cheese baked on top. The onion rings were delish and the regular fries were devoured. Our only complaint was the atmosphere. The room is small and two amps were set up as their sound system. Sit by the amps only if you were forced to have dinner with someone and don’t want to talk to them. We moved tables 3 times(obnoxious) and finally settled on a table with the AC blowing on is even though it was 50 degrees outside. The wait staff was super nice and friendly, but I think I would take my food to go in the future due to the configuration of the room. But a delicious to go meal it shall be.

Good place to come for some comfort artery clogger foods. I like the way the place looks and the service was good and friendly. My only gripe would be the fries were a little crispy and hard for my liking,(we had the pigpen fries) and they could do with offering the specialty pizzas in all sizes. I’m not quite sure why they don’t actually offer the pizzas they have listed in anything other than the one size listed. I’m pretty sure they’re making it all fresh, so why not offer them in other sizes? Anyways, this is a pretty cool fun spot in the LBC.

KILLER craft beer selection. Good food but maybe a tad pricey. Cute, eclectic environment with live music at night. Service was cool, but probably could have been a bit more on top of it. The biggest downsides are parking, and how loud the music is at night. If you’re looking for a cute first date or a chill hangout, this place is perfect.

This time, I came during happy hour on Sunday & had a better experience. A server actually came to our table, took our order & helped us decide on good craft beers. We got the jalapeño poppers(meh), balsamic arugula salad(heavy on balsamic dressing) & the best dish was the pizza with pear, Gorgonzola cheese & almonds. There were also some cool musicians playing some nice blues today.

This place never disappoints me. Yeah sometimes things are a little shotty, but they always make up for it. Today we couldn’t decide where we wanted to eat for lunch even though it was getting too late for brunch and it was too early for happy hour anywhere. We decided to suck it up and head to Rebel Bite even though we’re quite accustomed to their appetizing happy hour prices and felt spoiled. We ordered two beers and a Papablanca with only half with prusciotto. He erroneously brought us a full prusciotto and then noticed it right as we did. They more than eradicated the issue with a round of their $ 4 special beers and fixing the pizza. Needless to say, we demolished that pizza and it beyond met our expectations. The pizza had crispy kale, thin slices of potato, roasted garlic, and toasted almonds. I’m sorry I never tried it sooner!

Came in for happy hour and on their open mic night Tuesday. Ordered two bowls of wings spicey and traditional, Hawaiian style pizza, and their poutine chili cheese bacon garlic fries along with a smog city coffee Porter and a knee deep brewing breaking bud IPA. They have a good selection of mostly stout, Porters, and IPA. Decent selection for all you craft beer lovers out there. All in all the food and craft beer were great and customer service was excellent. Since happy hour was very close to ending the chef gave us the last bowl of hot wings for free. Their wings are also huge in size and about twice the size of hooters wings. Orders of food only took 15 mns. Ambience is pretty laid back with a huge hipster crowd and folks waiting to get their open mic session on. Their local and regular customers seemed laid back and friendly and their band was playing a mix of reggae and alternative. My only complaint is that the parking sucks but we did get lucky on park half a block away in a non metered space! There’s no private parking for this joint.

Pretty hip and unique pizza joint. Laid back vibe and cool music to get your drink and grub on. Came on a Monday night around 8:30pm and it was mostly empty with one server. Considering there is only one server, he was pretty efficient and got our drinks and food promptly. Papablanca pizza($ 15.50) — scalloped potatoes, prosciutto, kale and sliced almond on top of white pizza. Tasted ok. When I was ordering this I guess I imagined it tasted differently. I felt like the pizza tasted really dry and the kale tasted burnt. The kale overpowered the prosciutto and the potatoes. I don’t know if I’d ordered it again. Fried zucchini($ 5) — good. Came out fresh and piping hot. Breading and ranch dip was flavored with herbs. I tried the garlic fries too and I think I would get that next time. Overall, I think this is a cool place to meet up with friends. Menu has a decent variety and a huge drink selection. I’d just order another pizza next time.

It was warm today, and the inside of this place was hot. There were no doors or windows open, and there is obviously no airconditioning. Although our water was served cold, I wish that we had been given some ice. I was unfortunate enough to have forgotten a hair tie, so I was suffering indeed. Wanting to try something different, we ordered the Karl B. Marx and Lemongrad pizzas. The first looked nothing like the pictures on Unilocal.Instead of chunks of meat and whole basil leaves, it was almost ground meat(reminiscent of hamburger) and small flakes of basil. Our pizza wa much less attractive, and the oil and juice from the meat was pooled at the top of the pie. Picking up a slice caused this liquid to run down my hand, making things quite messy. The flavor was alright — sweet, savory, and cheesy. The Lemongrad pizza was interesting. I like the aim at something different with the lemon peel on top. However, some of the veggies seemed undercooked(and there were blue potatoes instead of sweet potatoes). Also, I wanted a sauce of some sort to bring it all together. The food was okay, but expensive($ 16.50 for each pie), and my mom chimed in that she’d rather go to CPK.

3.5 stars Ended up at Rebel Bite on a Friday night after work with colleagues. Parking absolutely stinks in this area. You’ll have to get lucky to find a close spot or there will be a bit of walk. Once you enter, there is a beer menu & food menu you grab yourself. Great ambiance for a hangout with friends! We didn’t make a reservation for our party of 10 but it was pretty much empty when we arrived so they put two tables together for us. Food and drinks came out within a decent amount of time. Happy hour specials are pretttttty awesome! Beer + personal pizza w/1 topping for $ 6, beer + any burger for $ 13. The personal pizza was meh but i didn’t expect much out of it. Pig Pen fries were almost drool-worthy. I’m not a huge fan of wasabi so I tried to avoid the sauce drizzled on top as much as I could. Hefty amount of fries & meat! Overall, we had great service. Went up to the counter to pay and they had our receipts separated. SCORE. Definitely will be back for happy hour 5−7pm!

I came for happy hour and honestly didn’t find anything that I wanted so I got the Karl B Marx(marinated beef in grilled cheese). The server came out with a regular grilled cheese because they mixed up or didn’t remember my order, but luckily, I let it pass because I was trying to kill time anyway. I got the melt and it definitely wasn’t what I was expecting. The beef was good(although there wasn’t that much), but it was sweet! I guess it would have been pretty good if I was in the mood for it, but I was craving something more savory and salty. There wasn’t much cheese which I was hoping for either, but they did kill it on stuffing the sandwich with a ton of meat! The garlic fries were pretty good, but nothing super special.
