Long Beach Memorial Medical Center Memorial Healthtech Lab

Love this place! I am a hard stick and am extremely nervous about going to any lab outside of my PCP as the only working vein I have left is in my hand — small veins. I was pleasantly surprised. Quiet, empty waiting room, quick and professional staff. I explained to the tech that they needed to warm up my hand and if she could not find a vein, do not ‘try.’ I definitely did not want to leave looking like a black and blue mummy. She re-​assured me of that, had me take a seat in the back, found the vein in my hand and the procedure was quick and basically painless. I was very, very happy and will definitely visit here again. Need to in fact as they are right next to two of my doctors. Two thumbs up!

Parking was a bit confusing but after I parked, I was in and out of the lab in 7 minutes for some blood work. The technician had to «dig around» a little to hit the vein and left a pretty big bruise, which is why this review is not 5 stars.

Since having blood drawn kinda sucks, I like going somewhere simple and easy, and of course as painless as possible. This lab fulfilled all of those. Empty waiting room, quick process. (There is a QUEST inside the hospital across the street, but I hate the wait that is typical of that terrible franchise.)
It’s so much nicer to run in and run out…
There is paid parking behind the building, so that’s not ideal, but is nice that it was so easy to park. You pay inside at the front desk for the parking before leaving the parking lot.
Warning: Can be a little confusing to find the building since the sign on the building does not mention the memorial center, but it is located directly opposite the Memorial Care hospital on the other side of Atlantic Ave.
I also love that this hospital has many locations around Long Beach… and 1 of the other locations for this care group/​hospital was just as good as this. Clean too!
