I can honestly say it doesn’t get any better than LivJits Long Beach Jiu Jitsu Academy. Whether you are a person who was never taken a class in your life or a professional MMA fighter, LivJits is the place for everyone. It offers a clean, safe family environment and head instructor professor Marcelo Meleiro teaching style is top notch. He teaches precise, clean technique on the ground in Jiu-​Jitsu His talent, is exceptional! He is a phenomenal coach and the kids classes are always packed. If you live in LA and are thinking about taking martial arts classes, LivJits is the place you need to visit. Just go train!

I have been involved in multiple styles of self defense and martial arts for most of my life. Learning from Professor Marcelo I found a place to call home, and have seen my progress travel by leaps and bounds. He is a man of strength and character; extremely patient and knowledgable. One of his many characteristics that stood out most to me is his style of teaching. Professor Marcelo will demonstrate technique to the class as a whole and then individually teach each student; communicating to each individual student in a way that he/​she will best understand. His ability to teach on a personal level (students ranging in age from children to seniors, from rudimentary level to vast experience) and make champions is truly something to behold!
When he tells his students, «It is my goal to make each of you so good, that when I roll on the mats with you, I will be the one to tap out,» you see the truth of it in his eyes and his sincere dedication to this art. On his mats you will not feel like just a student, you will feel like you are part of a family!
