I have stopped for donuts a dozen or more times over the last couple of years, Since it is on my way to work, it is very tempting to stop by more often. Sometimes I pick up 2 or 3 dozens donuts for work. Other times I will just come in to get a cup of coffee and a donut and sit at a table to enjoy for a couple of minutes before resuming my commute, The people working here(mainly a family) are polite, courteous and friendly, They interact with their customers like you would with a good friend. You quickly notice that they know what their regulars usually order. And, it does look like they have quite a few regulars. The donuts are very good. Usually I will have maple bar or an iced donut topped with chopped nuts. When I have taken Lina’s Donuts to work, they were well received, I like supporting family businesses, If you have a few minutes on your way to work, stop by and give them a try.

I have been coming to this donut shop for well over a year now. At least once every two weeks. I always get the same thing: a round iced donut with chopped peanuts on it. I just like peanuts on my donuts, what can I say? I have no interest in other types of donuts. I want my peanut donut, my chocolate milk, and maybe a donut or two for co-workers, and then I want out. My regularity is so immutable that when I walk into this place the ladies go, «Oh, we have peanut for you today!» Or they say, «Oh no, we are out of peanut!» and I am disappointed but still get a donut. At least, until one day, a couple months ago, when I saw they didn’t have any peanut donuts, I turned to leave the store. «You don’t want anything?» «No, I only really care about peanut donuts,» and I walked out of the store and went to Jamba Juice. The next time I came into the store, maybe a week later, they excitedly said, «We have peanut for you!» and as one lady went to pull a peanut donut off the fresh donut shelves, another lady started to pull another peanut donut out from under the counter. «No no,» one lady stopped the other, «That one is from yesterday.» Yes, they’d actually begun stashing peanut donuts away under the counter just in case I came into the store. Now that’s customer service! These donuts are pretty good, I grew up eating Winchell’s and these are of that same classic donut shop donut variety. Nothing fancy, just familiar donuts. I like the TrueMoo chocolate milk even though I am sure it’s bad for me. Really, eating here at all is bad for me and I don’t know why I do it. I guess at this point I am just proud to be supporting the economy/local businesses even if it is at the expense of my health.

blah blah blah that’s all i hear when people start their rants and raves about designer donuts. cronuts schmonuts. all you designers stick to purses, jeans and shoes when you are talking about designer this and that. what gets my mouth watering and my heart to pitter patter is a really good glazed old fashioned and i don’t mean«hey i’ll have a glazed old fashioned» i mean i want a glazed old fashioned that has been fried to a delicate crispness on the outside while the inside has a lightness of density that only science can explain. then it is given its crowning glory of sweet sugary sauce that most donuteers get wrong but not here the master of the glaze knows just when to say when as the delicious gooey glaze meets its destiny of its warm fried doughy bed. now…i’ll have one of those glazed old fashioned donuts paleazzze!!!

My buttermilk donut was RAW in the middle. Also, the donuts look like they’ve been sitting there for days. The lady working behind the counter is a bit impatient and pushy.

Soul food for a wonderful community My last husband and I would buy doughnuts for our church here when we lived in Long Beach. I stopped by out of the blue while in the area and was surprised the owner remembered me – he asked me if I still lived in Monterey and showed me his perfect doughnuts were as lovely as him and his wife. What was even nicer, was the way people are still coming here to share their lives over doughnuts and coffee an how I could see people caring about each other. While I have no desire to ever move back to So. Calif. this place made me realize Gilory’s sense of community also exists in this special place. Glad to see this wonderful local business still going strong.

Been coming here for more than a dozen years and they’ve always been consistently good! I’ve never had a stale donut or one that tastes of old oil. I’m very sensitive to that smell and flavor and I’ve never experienced that here. The apple fritter is amazing and so is the old fashion. Super crisp and cakey at the same time! Masterpiece! Nice family too!

Good donuts. They have a good honey wheat donut. The ladies who tend to business are patient and very nice.(because it always takes me a few minutes to decide on which sinus to get!) I like when people appreciate your business! They accept credit cards too(50 extra fee). And they sell lottery tickets! Could it be your lucky day??? ;)

My wife and I just stopped by to us a bathroom, upon entering the smell of delicious goodness penetrated our nostrils, melting our hearts, and before we knew it, were bewitched by the trance of sugary delights. That being said, this place was sooo good! I was surprised at their quality and affordability. I couldn’t wait to get home and eat mine, so I didn’t. It was gone before I got back to the car. I would highly recommend this places if you’re around to get a quick fix, or if you want a cheap treat for the kiddos. It’s open pretty late so you can get some for that late night craving and/or breakfast the next morning.

We always buy our weekly lottery tickets here. Everyone is very nice and friendly. When we do get a craving for something sweet my family does have some favorites things to eat. My daughter and son love the apple fritters here. My husband and I prefer the orange donuts and their plain croissants. The croissants are a nice size and make a delicious sandwich come lunch time.

All donut shops are not created the same. The donuts are better than most. No signature donuts, or unusal fair. Just good donuts, great service, and a pleasant clientele that makes it comfortable to come in. You can pay more, you can pay less, but you’ll never find a nicer group of people serving you at a fair price.

This is a small, adorable, neighborhood donut shop. When my family & I walked in on a nice Sunday morning, it looked like a few locals who probably frequent the shop were already enjoying their morning donuts & coffee. They have a nice assortment of donuts, muffins, croissants, & simple bagel & cream cheese. My children love the donut holes. And I love their Cream Cheese Croissant. It was moist & didn’t fall apart, which I find to be the norm at other donut or bake shops. The service is also adequately friendly. They also participate in the CA Lotto Program & apparently have won quite big prizes, so if you’re into that sort of thing, it might be to your«luck» to purchase your tickets here.

OMG sooo good! I always miss those classic donuts that parents, teachers and sometimes students used to bring in for their morning breakfast in k-12. I had been looking for a good place here in long beach, and definitely have found it @ Lina’s. I’m usually in their bright and early at 6:30 in the morning… so much now that they know my order when I walk in,. And aside from the donuts, the croissants are also super good! Huge and fluffy and just a little bit crispy! YUM!!! So please please please, go in and support them. Its a great local treat! =)
