So, Happy Liquor and I have a love/hate relationship. I love them because they’re stumbling distance from my house. I hate them because they’re so close to being amazing, but they just wont follow through. Their beer selection is hit or miss. They’ve got all the basic domestics, but they’re expensive. I guess that’s the price I pay for not having to get in the car and drive somewhere for beer. Occasionally they’ll have something really interesting, a cool microbrew. but it’s never consistent. They do have kind of an interesting selection of grocery items. Lots of cereal and candy and canned food and random snack. Seven different varieties of margerine, but only one stick of butter that came in a 1lb block and looked like it was churned in someones bathtub. Overall, I’ll keep coming here for my coors light and gummy bears. Maybe the occasional lotto ticket. It’s no trader joes, but if you’re in the ‘hood and know about Happy Liquor, you already knew that. They do take credit cards, but have a $ 25 minimum. Otherwise, cash or atm for a seventy-five cent fee.
