I lived in Gondolier Apartments for about two years and I entirely enjoyed my stay there. If I had any question or concern, the manager, Christian was always available to help. He has been extremely helpful in terms of answering all of our questions and helping us out whenever we came across an issue. The maintenance employee? Roberto, is always on site and as helpful as the manager. He would make sure to fix the problem within 48 hours. I would highly recommend it to CSULB students, you can literally walk to the school.

I’ve been living here for a little over three years and I love it. Yes, the space is teeny-tiny small, but I have always enjoyed the«motel» ambiance and appeal. Hiring the new manager, Christian, was honestly one of the best decisions the owners have made to improve the business and the property. I disliked the old manager so much that I forgot her name. Christian is beyond personable and helpful, and I think it’s really beneficial to us that he lives in one of the units too. Christian really makes the effort to get to know the tenants and makes it a priority to problem-solve and promptly attend to our concerns. Roberto, the maintenance/repair man, is also the best! Roberto is always available when I need him. On more than one occasion, I have locked myself out of my apartment, or broken something, and Roberto was always sweet enough to help me even when he was on his breaks or in the middle of completing another job! I appreciate how these two work as a solid team to get the jobs done and keep the tenants happy. As long as these two remain on the property, I have no complaints! Well, I take that last part back. I wish there was a solution to the parking situation. Parking is «first come, first serve» and street parking is always scary due to the fact that PCH is a very busy street. Street sweeping on Friday mornings also prevented me from going out late night on Thursdays during my college years! My only regret is that I didn’t get to move in after Christian was hired and they decided to renovate each unit and change the color scheme of the interior. And, I wish the owners would invest in better quality windows, rugs and tiles, and sinks and bathtubs that weren’t repainted with sucky paint. But I guess you can’t expect much from living in a cozy motel! Lol!

Excellent place for Students, walking distance to CSULB, the property grounds is very well kept, CLEAN. Manager lives on site and I believe so does the maintenance man Roberto who is always very helpful. The pool is georgeus, nice laundry rooom and gym. The rent is very affordable, $ 900 with all utilities paid, I tried renting at other places around here and while the apartments were bigger and nicer I had to pay for all utilities so if you want to save up some cash I would recomend this place.

Call this place the Roach Motel… There are roaches everywhere around and in side the building. Dont try applying to rent here because The manager, if thats what you want to call her, makes the rules as she goes. When I first rented there, I was told of a no pet policy. However the longer I stayed there I began to notice that more than half the building owned pets. Then the parking is a joke. There is no assigned parking and anyone from the CSULB will take up your parking space and leave you on the street to park and walk a mile just to get back home. The neighbor hood is a bit shy from being full on ghetto. There are no good restaurants to eat and everything is too far away. It is a high traffic area because there are 3 major freeway entrances on PCH/7th street. Also dont display too much fun because the fake manager will come knocking on your door to see what’s going on. You are 1 block away from a University… what did you expect, the serenity of the retired like in Palm Springs? The place use to be a motel and it shows from the poor painting job inside, it peels it the bathroom if you take a lot of hot showers. And forget about privacy, the walls are so thin you can hear everyone’s conversations. The workers there do not speak any English and the manager never answers her phone(caller ID). This would not be an ideal spot even for the rent they charge, the manager prowls areound late at night to spy and smoke, even though there is no smoking allowed on the premises. The fact of the matter is, it is not the place to live especially if you want privacy. The roaches even know your business. Peace out and stay away from this God awful mess of an apartment, you were forewarned.
