There is currently a chain link fence around this place… closed for good? Dang, just when I was going to try it!

Chicken and price is good. Other than that it was a quick food fix nothing that you’ll crave.

Horrible! Worst meal I’ve ever eaten out here in 20 yrs. just bland and bad dark meat chicken. Nasty. Took 3 bites and left entire plate.

Wake me up before you GO-GO… Don’t leave me hanging on like a YO-YO! After reading the reviews and looking at the pictures, I bookmarked this placed and finally got a chance to head over. This place was empty, so that was a good sign for me. No crowds and the crew get to take their time and focus on my order. There are not many options when it comes to their menu. I prefer white meat chicken(breast and wing) with a variety of sides but my options were limited to a half of a chicken and Spanish sides. I ordered the Half Chicken with Potato Salad and Spanish Rice. I was a little disappointed in the flavor of the rotisserie chicken. I like my chicken to have some type of seasoning(salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne, etc.) My chicken was bland, my rice was nothing to write home about, but the potato salad was pretty good. My usual confidant didn’t really care for a half chicken so he opted for the BYOB(Build Your Own Burrito). He chose the Beef with Beans, Tomatoes, Cheese, Onions, & Cilantro for the toppings(sorry no pictures). I actually ate more of the burrito than I did my own food. Albeit, the portions and price were awesome, I don’t think I will be returning to this establishment. Side Note: Cash Only & No Free Refills

Great value for a good meal is the headline. Upon entering I was a little concerned as the place was empty(6−630pm on a Tuesday)…but the family was glad I went! You get a full chicken, rice, beans, coleslaw, tortillas and salsa for $ 11. The rotisserie chicken was JUICY and the accompaniments were standard fare. Overall good meal for a fantastic price! Beyond the rotisserie chicken dinner, they have a build it yourself burrito/taco bar which I found intriguing. All individual ingredients on the burrito bar looked fresh. I built a burrito bowl with rice, a mix of the 3 meat choices, grilled onions, loads of salsa and lettuce! It was yum-o and there was left over(it easily feeds two people). In short– better nutrition and value than fast food… now if only they had a drive thru!

If you’re a fan of chains like El Pollo Loco, you’ll surely enjoy the food here at GOGO Pollo. The chicken was very moist and succulent. The meat fell off the bones with just a shake. The skin(my favorite part) had a feint crisp but wasn’t burnt. Highly enjoyed my meal.

Ok so the five stars is not for how good the chicken is. Do not get me wrong the chicken here is very solid. I, however, have had REALLY amazing rotisserie chicken.(See my reviews for the Kikiriki chain on the east coast.) The food here is very good. The place is kept immaculately clean. The service is fairly fast considering its only 2 – 3 people working. The best thing about this spot is the VALUE! $ 5 for a decent filling lunch WITH a drink. The options are cool too. I usually do either the ¼ chicken or the burrito lunch special. (Any one who frequents King’s chicken, please switch to this place immediately!) Bottom line: GOGO Pollo is a GO!

Go Go Pollo is my weekly go-to for delicious roasted chicken. It is tasty, tender chicken served to you with great customer service and good portions. The facility is very clean, bright and welcoming which is an important factor when dining out. My little guilty pleasure is the flavorful chicken skin! Keeps me going back for more and more. I do wish that they made a spicy avocado sauce to go with their chicken like Pio Pio does because that would take their chicken to a whole other level. But since we can’t have everything we want at least we can have good chicken so check this place out. How about some Unilocal check-in specials? Hmmm ;) You know you want to do it :)

My dad bought 2 whole chickens with tortillas and for $ 14.99 and got 2 free sodas! Not only is their chicken delicious, it is fresh and soo cheap! I have always been a fan of El Pollo Loco but they are too expensive for their tiny portions! Gogo Pollo gives you plenty of tortillas and salsa for your meal.

This place was a disappointment. Food had no flavor. The salsa was weak and tasteless and the rice is poor quality with no flavor.

This is food your Mama would make. Delicious. We had classic chicken, rice and beans. The salsas were great. I’ll definitely be back.

Stopped by here this late morning today in this neck of the woods. I would recommend this place to people from out of town looking for a place to try, this would be one of them. Friendly customer service! Super Friendly! This is probably because they are not tired from working all day long and it’s right when they just opened. I’m not sure if the experience would be the same if I came to this place at 8pm. Had to try this place since I was in the area. Got the beef burrito combo and it was alright! The large soda drink that came with the meal is like a small drink at other fast food places. Refills are 50 cents??? LOL That’s not good, because soda is cheap to begin with. Sure soda causes diabetes, but I don’t care when I’m drinking it. Got the whole chicken to go, not too shabby. It is better than El Pollo Loco. That’s damn true. CASHONLY. NORECEIPT. Make sure they give u you back the exact change. I would come back here when I’m in the area if they start having free refills on the drinks. Nuff Said.

Stopped by Gogo Pollo today and found it a fresh alternative to Pollo Loco. It’s more authentic and the place is nice to dine in. Their chicken is amazing and their family combos are hard to beat. Best deal in town for chicken that you wish you could cook yourself but can’t. The restaurant is large, clean, and the staff is very nice. I look forward to seeing how this place will continue to grow. Right now it’s a little piece of chicken heaven in the LBC.

Went to check out this chicken joint for lunch and ordered two chickens with tortilla, salsa, rice and beans. The restaurant was kind of hoppin’, but we got our order right away. The chicken was so juicy and flavorful(especially the skin part!), I purposefully dropped my diet. I think I even ate more than my friends(who are dudes!). Let’s just say, I went gaga for Gogo Pollo. Will def come back.

So, I was on my way to El Pollo Loco around 7:30 pm yesterday, but I went for GoGo Pollo since it opened a couple of weeks ago. My toddler and I were the only people there the whole time. The guys in the bright red shirts were nice and politely asked for my order. They were not over zealous(thank God). The last thing I wanted to hear was someone shouting at me, «Welcome to GoGo Pollo(followed by a crazy slogan)» *A note for places like that: I know it’s for brand recognition, but 9 times out of 10 the patron knows the name of the establishment and is NOTLOST! I picked the #8 quesadilla and the #9 half chicken with a couple of Jarritos. They said no lunch items at night. I wanted to say, «You are not allowed to make a quesadilla in the night? I can pay a night price.» Instead, I decided to pair the chicken with the three tacos choice. I ordered asada to shake things up, but they said there was only enough meat for two asada tacos. The third would have to be chicken. Fair enough. After all, it is «GoGo Pollo» and not«Dale Dale Carne.» [Dale is pronounced Dah-lay.] I looked at the register … BOOM! Cash only. I told the guys that I just had a card. They courteously showed me the ATM. Cool. It was only a $ 1.50 fee. The total, minus the fee, was $ 18.05. Before I came back from the ATM, the guy was kind enough to open the bottles and place them on the counter for immediate consumption. I didn’t quite want that, but I let it go … sort of. Here is where the trouble starts. Once I started toward the cash register for my drinks, an older, slightly out of place looking, gentleman behind the counter carelessly let his outside work jacket sleeve sweep the tops of my open bottles. Gross. He pointed to the tip jar with his dirty work gloves telling the cashier to, «Tape the tip jar down.» That left an uneasy feeling, no matter how good the food smelled. Additionally, I don’t want to patronize a place that openly shows no trust for customers … I’d rather spend my money at a place that keeps those feelings private. Once the older my-germs-are-your-germs gentleman walked away, I had to ask, «Was he the proprietor?» The nice guy behind the counter affirmed and added that it is a family owned business. All I could imagine is a pleasant little older lady to match the age of the guy I saw, and a couple of adult children who are USC or UCLA alums. There’s nothing wrong with that. In fact, that thought soothed the situation for me. The idea of a family business is okay. I may come back one day for the quesadilla … or not. Either way this place gets only two stars from me. Food: 4 stars No night quesadillas: 2 stars Proprietor pubic attitude: 0 stars … He could have asked the traditional, «Is there anything else we can do,» question. Instead he ignored the one customer who was present. Shame.

Watch out Charo Chicken and El Pollo Loco… there’s a NEW kid on the block! I noticed this new place as I drove past it on my way to work yesterday morning and figured, being the good Unilocaler that I am(pat self on back), I had better check it out! So with camera in hand, I stopped by on my way home today. They’re on the corner of PCH and Pine Ave and parking isn’t a problem with their private lot in back. As I walked through the parking lot around the building, my nose picks up this WONDERFUL aroma… oooh that smells SO good! I walk in the door to bright colors and a large menu They also offer asada(beef), but the chicken is the main deal. SERVICE: This is one of those, order at the counter and pick it up at the counter when they call your number, type of places. Jose and David were friendly and trying make sure everything went smoothly. You see they just opened 6 days ago, on Jan 11. Also it’s CASHONLY. While standing at the counter was able to see where all the magic happens. FOOD: after looking over the menu I decided to get a chicken quesadilla(with salad and a drink — $ 5) to eat there
and a half chicken(with rice, beans and corn tortillas — $ 6.99) to take home. They use real queso oaxaca from Mexico in their quesadillas. The flavor was mild, but was stringy and tasty, especially with the chicken. The salad was simple romaine lettuce, but it was very fresh! I couldn’t wait to get home to try the other chicken so I plucked the drumstick out of the container and chomped it right there! Hot, tender, good flavor, «maybe» a little salty to those overly sensitive to salt, but I thought it was very good! OVERALL: Looks like this new kid on the block will probably cater mostly to the Hispanic community, but it’s worth going(back) to, if you like this type of food, especially since the prices are VERY reasonable!
