Used to be our favorite place several years ago. Wings are great, best blue cheese in town. They(had) best fish and chips that used to come with a great salad. Then they went through a menu/management change which increased all of their prices, dropped the awesome salad that came with meals and replaced it with coleslaw(yuck.) The fish(in the fish and chips) are now half the portion and costs more. They do fill the basket(former dinner plate) with lots of fries to make it feel like you still get the same amount of fish, but you don’t. Maybe they think we as customers don’t notice all of the cut backs and poor decisions and think it’s acceptable? Well it’s not. We stopped going there. Service have changed not for the better(except Christina who is a delight, and bartender Javi.) Disappointed guys. …We found a new go-to place.

We sat at the bar and it was very difficult to get another drink(not that busy). The gorganzola fries are not worth the extra $$$ doesn’t taste like cheese at all. The bar bar chairs are way too high for the bar. Menu was interesting and food was tasty.

Omg!!! They have stepped up their breakfast game. I stopped going years ago because it was the same old tired food. Not any more. I can’t believe all the fabulous breakfast choices. I had the abc omelette(avocado, bacon, cheese, spinach and added onions. Delicious! Has Browns were fabulous. Substituted biscuits and gravy(beyond fab) that didn’t last long enough to take a pic. I’m coming back to try the French toast, sliders, deep fried bacon and about 6 other things. Now I know why it’s soooo busy on the weekends. Good job!

Love this place. I usually come here after work with friends, drinks are reasonably priced. We usually go with their pitchers of beer but their drinks are really good as well. Their food is sooo good, my favorites include their chili, the chicken fingers and their burgers are so amazing. The chili is my absolute favorite, highly recommend it. The bartenders are also great and very attentive.

We’ve been coming here for some time on our date nights/alone time, and I finally called to ask if children are allowed. I was delighted to find out that yes, kids are allowed as long as the kitchen is open. Fun place to watch football and other sports though the crowd can get a little rowdy like most other pubs. Just keep this in mind if you do bring your family or little ones. We love the wings here, everything else is decent. Bar tenders are generous on most of their pours.

Went here after a meeting. I ordered the beef dip with there famous fries(can’t remember the name of them but there is a picture posted. Everything was awesome! The dip was just the right amount of crispy so that when I dipped it in the juice it was perfection in my mouth! My taste buds were in love with me that night! I also ordered a side salad and I was pretty impressed with the serving amount and the freshness that was on that plate. The service was great as well, but then again we were literally the only group of people there. I guess I can’t really rate them too much based on service, but they were friendly. This spot is a sports bar/grill kind of spot. It’s in Bixby Knolls area too. If you’re in the area, give it a try

Great choices, service a little slow/off but the food exceeded pub expectations. Corned beef a little dry but mashed potatoes beyond perfect. Bbq salad also a standout. I guess ppl w money come here bc an old guy at the bar was sipping a martini with his bank statement hanging out of his pocket. And by bank statement I mean just that haha. More good stuff in the LB. Who knew?

Cross cut French fries with cheese is what I was craving and we found them here. Stopped by for lunch on Saturday. Maybe lunch portions are a little smaller, but they were good. I wanted more. Chicken wings medium spicy were good too. Nothing extraordinary but good. Total 27.00 for two dishes one which was kinda small for the price.

Today we’re were two. I had the french dip on the new to the menu, Frisco roll. The same Frisco roll they use at Philippe’s in downtown LA. Unfortunately, that wonderful roll is completely lost to the fact that they grill it here and don’t dip it before piling the meat in it. Freshly seasoned, tender, roasted ROASTBEEF, is all that should be in a french dip. This one was put to death with the dry, over smoky tri tip. The jack cheese was shredded and tasted as though it had been in the refrigerator too long. Probably not a good thing. Hope I’m not I’ll tonight. Since I’m finishing this review at 10:58PM, and in all fairness, I never did get ill. The coleslaw, is fresh out of the bag but at least, it was great! I like the addition of the green apple Chunks although, they could be much smaller. The Philly cheese steak sandwich had good flavor. That was, until my lunch mate bit into the heavy salt crystals. Thankfully, he’s not as big eater and it was in the last third of the sandwich. !!! EJ’s HASREVAMPEDTHEIRMENU !!! I’m glad they’ve rid themselves of that odd and not so great, cubed tri tip sandwich. While glancing this IRISHPUB’S new menu, I’m seeing things like, ITALIAN meatball pasta… Spicy ITALIAN sausage and baked beans skillet… Drunken shepherd’s pie WHICHHASNOLAMB, thus making this a cottage pie. . Grilled ITALIAN sausage sandwich… Chicken philly sandwich. Why? ITALIAN meatball sliders… What next? Pizza and antipasto salads? How about some IRISHPUBFOOD??? Might I suggest, Plump and juicy breaded and deep fried oysters. Perhaps with a trio of aioli dipping sauce. cocktail sauce and tartar sauce. A more traditional shepherds pie with LAMB. No need to get inventive, This dish, when done correctly, has managed to do very well all by itself since about 1877. A traditional cottage pie with beef. Has also held its own since 1791. Done well, either of these would be great additions to any Irish pub’s menu. Irish bangers(sausages.) Why not? After all, this is an Irish Pub! Bangers and mash(mashed potatoes) with onion gravy. A french dip sandwich piled high the way it should be, with ROASTBEEF. Pre dipped. Do not ever use shredded cheese in a french dip. DONOTGRILLTHISROLL! Especially after telling your customers, you’re using the same rolls as Philippe’s the original. Even though your customers aren’t expecting the same sandwich as Philippe’s, they are expecting the same great roll. A french dip sandwich of fresh, well seasoned and wonderfully roasted, hand carved LAMBSHANK served pre dipped. DONOTGRILLTHISROLL! A wonderfully seasoned ribeye sandwich. Cooked to perfection with mayo and some butter or romaine lettuce on that wonderful Frisco bread roll. GRILLTHISROLL! You may even want to run this piece of meat through a butter dip then hit the grill for a second or two each side before serving. A pub style ribeye dinner complete with mashed potatoes or rice pilaf, gravy, and steamed vegetables. Try this dish over at Gallaghers on Broadway for starters. Perhaps a lamb or beef stew. Again, a good reference is Gallaghers pub version. Perhaps add a Sous Vide to your equipment line. It can tastefully(pun intended) add to your bottom line when operated correctly! Now I’m going to get really ridiculous! How about a one night a week or month, well seasoned, cooked to perfection, prime rib night? Served with steamed veggies and mashed potatoes, rice pilaf or baked potato with sour cream, chives and butter, all on the side??? I don’t know if you have a good Irish coffee. Perhaps I’ll find out next visit. A great way to bring crowds in the evening especially on California winter nights. I’m not sure if EJ’s still has the same potato salad but it was always great! The sliced pickles and pepperoncinis served with most dishes are also a plus! We’ll definitely be back for our favorite drinks and dishes however, I have to say, This new Italian menu, just isn’t sitting well.

Have been coming here for years. Cool place, decent bar food & always comfortable for the locals. As of the beginning of June they have re done their menu and I absolutely love it! They just upgraded everything, the taste of everything is better & love the new menu. I definitely recommended coming here again if you have in the past and thought it was mediocre because it’s great now! Only thing that a little ehh is it’s slightly over priced for certain things but atleast the taste is worth it now ! & service is great too!

I’ve been to 23 places claiming to have the best but I now have a winner in my search for the Best Fish and chips in the Los Angeles area hands down! They use halibut, cut into strips, perfect for dipping into the awesome(house made) tartar sauce by hand! Malted vinegar already at the table waiting. Portions are the perfect size. Should you decide to take leftovers, they are simple to reheat in the oven. I will return here to watch football on one of the many televisions and have fish n chip instead of the wings! The platinum blonde server is wonderful and give the best service I’ve has in a long time.

The 3.5 star avg kind of scared me but I’d give this place a 4. The food is delicious and it’s not a long wait after you order. Which is why it’s 4 … Servers were nice but took them a while to get to us. We ordered the Gorgonzola fries which was yummy. But you gotta eat them fast or they’re get soggy from the delicious sauce. Also got the meatloaf melt. Not usually a fan of meatloaf but this was awesome!

So good! We are regulars here and they just up’d it even more with the new food menu. All delicious, so happy! Pictures are of Irish egg rolls, rib poutine and pork belly skewers! All to die for! And of course we had to get the wings(my favorite)!

EJ Malloy’s is nothing special but it’s not a negative experience. I went in with a group of friends on a Friday night when it was a bit busy. We wanted patio seating because inside was so loud we couldn’t hear each other. The staff was no help in getting extra seats for outside. We were all seated seven minutes later, which wasn’t too bad. It took longer than expected to get a menu(around 10 minutes) but once a waiter realized we existed, we were served quite quickly. My friends and I just ordered drinks and some chips. We got kettle chips and tortilla chips with cheese dip, guacamole, and salsa. It was all very tasty! The total for two appetizers and four drinks was $ 45.44. The atmosphere is bustling, lively, and not good for kids. It’s a pub that would be great to watch games at with friends. There’s street parking and bike parking available. Bottom Line: It’s a great place to have a drink and catch up in a very casual way. Not good for serious discussions or first dates at all.

Every time I’m having a bad weekend I walk down the street to EJ Malloys and order something different off the breakfast menu and just enjoy myself. It’s one place my book, iPad and I can come and sit alone and not feel like that awkward person sitting alone in the corner with no one to eat with lol. I pop myself right up on a barstool and refresh myself like a slap on the face(the good 50 shades type) with their excellent customer service. Mimosas are no longer unlimited on weekend during breakfast hours, but are at an amazing price point of $ 2.50 each. I asked if they had anything other than OJ and they had cranberry juice. Omg THAT alone makes me happy. I LOVECRAN-MOSAS !! I cant complain about that, as it still is about the same price for me. Besides that, with the bartender’s expertise I found myself sipping on a bacon infused bloody Mary with the most amazing savory piece of bacon as a garnish I almost fell off the stool lol. Which would have been bad because I would’ve broken my glass lol … or saved it with the arms up doing the wave… who knows lol. Well today I went out of my zone and got the poached eggs on top of soy chorizo on top of English muffin and had them add in jalapeños and top the hollandaise sauce with sliced avocado. Oh… my… BALLS. LOLTHATSHYTTTTT was so GOOOOOOOOD. It came with a side of roasted potatoes that had a hint of rosemary in them. Oh my. The music is always at that perfect noise level so you can hear it, bob the head and still hear what your date or ahem iPad is saying lol. Michael has been my host today and was also on my last visit. His cool stache and knowledge of the drinks and food make for an all around amazing experience. He just made me a basil cucumber bloody mary. Omggggggg. Trust his recommendations. Last time I came with the family and we had the sampler. I’ve never had potato skins so large and so flavorful. I highly recommend you take your sexy butt and your hot date or family here for a good breakfast, lunch or dinner any day !!! U will thank me. And I will say … you’re welcome now lol.

In the immortal words of Gary Coleman, «Whatcho talking about Willis?» February 23, 2015. 4:39pm PST. Supposedly Happy Hour, according to their menu. Order the Cajun chicken philly and a side of wings. My server informed me «the wings are no longer on happy hour.» I brush it off as no big deal(but they were a HH item on my last visit). The HH menu does say $ 3 off«select appetizers»; better would be off«the following appetizers». Precision is key in my book. It stands to reason that if their wings are no longer a HH item, what else is exempt? Posted HH is Monday — Friday 3 — 6pm and later on Wednesday and Friday until close. Really torn about this place; the food is fine and portions are good for the price point. Parking is wonky(welcome to Atlantic Avenue), service is on the moderate/slow side(kitchen, servers and bartenders are spot-on) but it a nice cozy spot. Find EJs under«The Thrill is Gone» list. PS: As of this writing, its 4:52pm…wings(usually a quick order) aren’t out yet.

Came in for a lunch meeting and tried the quesadilla and gorgonzola fries. Both good. Quesadilla came with a bunch of guacamole which was great and the gorgonzola fries really are a delicious comfort food. Overall ok spot with good service but nothing really healthy or refreshing to eat, after all it is a bar.

Ooh this place is mediocre to say the least. Came for happy hour(3pm), and it was just ‘whatever’. The restaurant is on the small size, but luckily for me, there were only about 4 other people. There is outside seating. So if you are feeling a bit claustrophobic, you can go outside. My food was ok, pretty standard as far as taste. I ordered a western bacon cheeseburger but of course, vegetarian style: veggie patty and minus the bacon, and the gorgonzola fries. I did not care for the sauce at all. Happy hour wouldnt be complete with the adult beverage. I really didnt want any strong liquor, so I decided on beer(I’m not a beer drinker so only half was consumed). If I were into sports, I could find myself coming back. However, since I am not, this foodie won’t be back. Nothing against EJ. It’s just not an «I just have to come back here» type of place.
