Dr. Chao delivered my baby girl about a week ago. I am a first time mom, she made me feel very comfortable during my pregnancy & ensured the safety of my child. During my doctor’s visits, yes there was a wait time but that is typical in any office especially when you have a doctor that takes her time when she is with you. When issues did arise she took the time to address them and get them corrected. I would recommend her to anyone. She is excellent and I look forward to her delivering my children in the near future.

I am due any day now, and I wanted to write a review before I have zero time to do so. Dr. Chao was referred to by my General Practitioner, and I am so happy she was. It can be nerve wrecking trying to find an OB that you are going to trust with your pregnancy as well as labor and delivery– Especially since I want to deliver naturally, without any medicinal intervention. Dr. Chao not only is in full support for this, but suggested that we look into Bradley Method classes, which promotes teaching about natural labor.
Dr. Chao takes her time with you when you are there, is straight forward, keeps things relaxed, and is easy to talk to.
If you are considering an OBGYN, I highly recommend her.

Dr Chao was really helpful to me with my first pregnancy. She seemed to truly care about my baby and put up with me bringing different family members to appointments. It was very comforting to have her when it was time to deliver. She was extremely calm and collected, which I needed. I would recommend her!

Don’t go here! Incompetent and rude medical assistants and nurses. They gossip about patients and are very unprofessional. Oh and dr. is even worse. Rude and and does not care about your overall health and act like she knows everything. Gave me a diagnosis and did not want to treat me. I’ve never been treated like this ever by a doctor! This woman is professional and precise. She takes care of me and all my needs. Her staff are incredible and have taken care of me every time. The place is clean and I feel comfortable. My experience has always been nothing but the best. Thank you for taking care of me.

The most unprofessional doctor’s office. The staff are rude and the offices are Grimey. Then you pay the co-​pay, but try to bill you for it in addition. I don’t know how this woman is still functioning. Definitely avoid at all costs. Would be zero stars if possible. Update 3÷23÷16 — I have been trying to get a hold of their billing person «Ana» since November so I call ³⁄₂₁ and these damn people have the nerve to tell me that I need to call the finance people because it would be a burden off of them!!! Fk them and this office. Seriously, how do I get it shut down and where can I file a complaint? If I find out I’ll definitely post the link here. Fk this damn no customer service having WORTHLESS practice.

Doctor Chao. If you can call this person a Doctor almost kill my wife!!! She diagnosed my wife whit thickening of the uterus and had her, on hormones treatment for approximately eight months no result, I had complete trust on this person we expressed our concerns she said not to worry treatment will work, my wife ended up becoming anemic from severe hemorrhages until she got very sick I call the doctors office for emergency appointment which the staff denied and offered a week apart appointment I look for a different doctor and found Doctor MACKOVIC
, she examined her and right away scheduled her for emergency surgery the next day and found two tumors the size of a light bulb, that where killing her WARNING DOCTOR CHAO AND STAFF!!! Don’t care your we

I’ve been here twice and I am currently in the process of switching to a new doctor. The first visit/​procedure was okay but the second time was not. I waited for over an hour and then once I was in the patient room I waited almost another half hour. Mind you that was partially undressed (in preparation for the procedure) and the A/​C was on full blast. During my time in the waiting room the front staff seemed oblivious to everyone in there and one even had her friend come in and bring a bunch of food and act like they were at home. Definitely not professional.
After this time I had to call and ask for my results and when the front staff finally got back to me they recommended a follow-​up procedure I needed to have done. I asked for more details but they simply responded with a patronizing answer. I asked to speak to the doctor and they said they would have her get back to me but she never did. The professionalism and respectfulness for a doctor’s office is lacking. I do not feel comfortable going back here so that is why I have decided to find someone new.

Where do I start. I don’t ever post reviews, but felt I needed too. I never had the opportunity to met Dr. Chao because her awful front office staff was enough to make you want to find another doctor.
I called in early January to set an appointment. Long story short, I couldn’t get an appointment until February 15. Fast forward to February 15, I woke up and realized I didn’t get a confirmation call for my appointment, So I decided to call to confirm myself. Whoever I spoke with had no recollection of me as a patient or even the appointment. I waited WELL OVER a month and was blown off. When I called back a few minutes later, I was hung up on several times. When someone finally answered they put me on hold for 10 minutes. So I hung up.
Judging by these reviews, I’m glad I wasn’t seen there. Don’t waist your time or money, Go to an new doctor.

So. This is my second time seeing this doctor. I come once a year for a well woman exam. My appointment was 9:30. I was here at 9:20. 10:20 I was still sitting there in a paper gown. I got dressed and walked out, at which time the desk staff said the doctor was just about to come see me. I said I would just find another OBGYN and thanked her for wasting my time. Take heed to all these horrible Unilocal reviews. Apparently they are all true. How was she already 45 mins behind when the office barely opened at 9am?

Purgatory! This waiting room is purgatory. Like the seen from BeetleJuice with the horrible music piped into the small cramped waiting room with terrible mix matched furniture that was designed for discomfort. There should be a sign on the door that just says… STAY AWAY.

Dr is very good but unfortunately her office staff is the most disorganized and incompetent I have ever witnessed. They have made so many mistakes that I feel they could endanger my life. They rarely pick up the phone and I have literally just come in instead of calling them because they are so incompetent. For instance, I have been trying to return a call for the past 30 min (because they called me a few months after I did a certain test), one person picked up the phone and accidentally hung up on me. Now they won’t answer at all. I have tried so many times. There is no message machine either. I’m over here thinking my test was positive and I’m dying of cancer or something. Please fire everyone in your office and start over! They are ruining your business Dr Chow and your reputation.
By the way, wait time was 2 hours for me last time so take heed of the reviews. Oh… and also the staff once told me to get an ultrasound at a place that was not approved by my insurance and then also booked me to do the same test elsewhere. It was such a mess and every time I called to straighten it out they messed things up further… so finally I just came in to speak with someone in person. Such a clusterf$&k.

Please take into consideration all of the other reviews posted. They are accurate. Having read the reviews prior to my appointment, I tried to find another Dr. on my own but couldn’t and reluctantly decided to give it a try anyway. WRONG! My fiancé and I went to our 1^st appt. yesterday and waited for 1.5 hrs to even be seen. No one ever said sorry for the wait prior to that nor were they considerate enough to tell us how much longer we had to wait. I work! When I finally did get called it was only for my vitals and then BACK to another 30 minute wait.
The Dr. Is very sweet but the front desk staff (there was only one this day) was a disgrace. She phoned in nausea medication that wasn’t covered by my insurance so I called to tell her and she asked me if I checked to see if they offered a replacement. Well who wouldn’t ask that? Yes I asked and no they didn’t so that’s why I called you. Then she said started asking me if I knew of other medications. No I’m not a nurse/​Doctor so that’s why I called you to check in on it. She even asked me what the medication I was prescribed was for! I said I don’t know but let me google it for you (she called it in btw but now I’m doing her job). She then said she would call over a new prescription… at this point I can’t eat and am missing work because of my morning sickness, and she didn’t call my pharmacy. I called her back 2 hours later and she said «well we’re short handed (insert my name) and busy so I can’t just call right now.» I hung up. I called back today and they are closed so another day with no prescription.
Needless to say, I called me general prac and got a referral to an amazing place. Good luck if you have to spend your pregnancy here. I’m not.

Dr Chao is the best ! She has delivered both of my daughters and will deliver the one on the way. She has been my OBGYN for over 4 years and it has been a lovely encounter each time I go to see her. She has nothing but my best intentions in mind. She is so loving with my daughters too, they get excited when I say we are going to see her. Yes there is a wait but I do not mind waiting to see her. She actually spends time with her patients instead of rushing out. I recommend her to everyone I know !

HORRIBLE. Save yourself time, money, and pain — go anywhere else! I ignored the negative reviews and went anyway. I’ll never return. The office was gross, the staff was rude, the doctor was inconsiderate and not helpful. Pretty much the worst visit to a doctor that I’ve ever had.

I have been with Dr. Chao for about 9 yrs now. She has taken good care of me and I have a beautiful girl that will be 8yrs old soon. She always helps me with my options for whatever I need and gives me the information to ensure I make the best decision

The only reason I’m here is because it is walking distance from work, other than that I’m changing my dr. And don’t come on time, even if u have an appy or call ahead to find out if they are running on time., because you will still wait more than 30 mins.
Dr. Chao is nice and upfront but at the same time I find her unprofessional esp the staff. They won’t go out of their way to assist you or atleast makes you feel comfortable. Their chair (seen on pic) have a cloth cover very disgusting. The urine container is stock in the bathroom.
Sigh!

I love dr Chao, she is up front about everything and always has her patients health and care as a first priority. Her staff are friendly and always welcoming. I’ve delivered one baby with her and am currently pregnant with another. I couldn’t ask for a more caring dr.

Timely, compassionate, evidence-​based care, client-​/​family-​centered, 100% supportive … that is Dr. Chao.
From the very beginning Dr. Chao and her staff have been an incredible team who’ve offered great, personable, professional, medical care. I started going to Dr. Chao in early 2013 and unfortunately suffered a miscarriage in June 2013. I revisited Dr. Chao when I became pregnant again in November 2013 and am thrilled to announce the recent birth of my baby girl on 8÷12÷2014. I cannot reiterate what a constant source of comfort Dr. Chao and her staff have been throughout my journey from maternity to motherhood.
She has been THE BEST obgyn I have ever had. At 33 yrs of age, I’ve seen a number of different obgyns, but did not stick with any of them until I was referred to Dr. Chao. Her offices (both Los Al and Long Beach) are CLEAN, her staff is hard working and friendly, & Dr. Chao genuinely CARES about your health and in turn your babies’.
I can’t seem to decide what’s cooler… her streak of red dye hair or her offbeat sense of humor. Either/​or, she is a Dr. who I can confide in, relate to, and feel confident about when it comes to my health.

DISGUSTING!!! UNHYGIENIC and they broke HIPAA!!! Simply put… I waited 2 months for the appointment AND THEN 1hr 15 minutes before the doctor even saw me AND while I was waiting in the exam room I decided to leave without treatment! I was rapidly freaking out at the site of her medical equipment just laying there in a basket with no protection at all. Please see pictures!!! Speculums, swabs etc all piled openly in dirty looking buckets in this basket… there is no possible way that this can be cleaned! I AM AN RN — this is not ok! This is the stuff that goes in your lady parts girls! Horrified. The whole thing was out of a 3^rd world country or something. The exam chair was cloth – not vinyl or something that can be sanitized. Utterly sickening! What did the DR have to say when I asked her what her sanitation process was??? «Get out». Guess what Dr Chao, I can’t wait to leave!
Ps, my bad experience started in the parking lot where a homeless guy was urinating (next to the sidewalk) and he wasn’t even the scariest one out there. You really can do better. I know I can!
