Back Country Horse Rides

We loved our horseback ride and will return again!
Kids can ride their own horse starting at 5 years old and the horses are all mellow and easy to ride. The guide was sure to keep everyone together and give tips along the way to make our ride a wonderful experience. Young kids can ride with parents for free and we were able to make reservations the day before for 6 people with no problem. They do one or two hour rides and the majority of that is on the beach since they are very close to it.

I just went for the 3^rd time and it was my 9 year old daughters 4^th time. Love this! They seem like awesome people who take good are of their animals. There was a baby mule there the day we went oh my god so cute!

When it was time to get on the horses they matched up a horse to the person riding. They found a great bigger horse named bee. She was a great horse. They explained everything we needed to know about riding them. They were always close by in case we needed them. It was a amazing ride down the beach. Wish i would have done this before on our trips to lkng beach. I think we have a new must do every trip.
Oh the best part was they only charge $ 25 a hour. Money well spent.

What a great group of people, nice horses, and a beautiful ride on a gorgeous beach.
They squeezed us in at the last minute and my daughter and her BFF loved it!
The wranglers are nice and super friendly and I can’t recommend these people more highly.

I took my 10 and 14 year old here and we all loved it. The guides were very helpful, personable and professional. The horses are very well trained and know exactly what to do and when to do it. We had a great time. Both my kids want to make this an annual tradition.

We went there for a short pony ride. They were super nice and made our kids feel special. The horse’s looked like they were well taken care of. The two horse’s that my girls rode were nice. Their rates are super affordable compared to other places down the coast. The stable area was very nicely kept. I would like to go back when my girls are older and take at least the hour long ride if not the two hour ride.

My husband and I drove 5+ hours round trip just for this experience and we plan on making that trip again… We are both very experienced riders, but I would feel VERY comfortable taking my young neice and nephew! we’ve gone riding with this company 4x now, and are planning on our 5^th trip next week!
Last year We went there to celebrate our 4 year anniversary… when we arrived, because it is no longer the summer season; there was only one wrangler and he was sick that day… needless to say they were closed for the day… my husband told to the gal who was working about our long drive, what we were celebrating and how disappointed we were… after hearing this… she went WAY out of her way to make our day special. Her husband Jr. offered to be our wrangler, which was just so sweet and he did an outstanding job… all that said, our trip was well worth it and these people did everything they could to make our day special… I have recommended them in the past and I will continue to do so!!! thanks Back Country Wilderness Outfitters for a memorable day! we will be back, with MORE people! ;)
