I thought every aspect was great. Fast friendly service, food was very good, and served very quickly. Will return again.

Cares nothing about patrons. Rewards program is a scam! You could spend a billion dollars here and they erase all your«rewards» every May. Clearly intended to keep money in their own pockets and not actually reward their guests.

Our quest continues for great Mexican food. This is the first restaurant that I’ve said id come back here — the salsa is yummy and the margaritas are even yummier. I started with a classic rio margarita — a true margarita and not from a bottle mix. I moved on to a frozen mango margarita — would definitely order again. The man got a triple margarita in the souvenir glass — I was a little dissapointed I didn’t order one of these — it was very good and had a great taste of lime & tequila. The chips are okay and the salsa is even better. The atomic salsa has a great kick at the end. We shared the steak nachos — we weren’t that hungry — the steak had great flavor. My only recommendation would be to make your chips fresh. The customer service was excellent. Friendly & fun! They kept our drinks full and our chips & salsa coming. Our server answered our questions and made us feel at home. The atmosphere is great. We sat at an indoor/outdoor prior table. Love the modern/Mexican décor and warm atmosphere. We look forward to returning and trying the shrimp tacos and homemade corn tortillas.

The only reason I come here is for their margaritas, they are absolutely delicious. The frozen mango is my favorite. The food is ok… But like I said, I only go because of how delicious the margs are.

These margaritas will knock your socks off. Proceed with caution. They try and cut you off after 3 for a reason.

My corn tortillas were not cooked. Bland food. No spice. No heat. Head to chipotle for tastier and less expensive Mexican American food.

I completely understand the mixed reviews. They had excellent guac and salsa. Terrible(hard without flavor) homemade corn tortillas. I prefer authentic to texmex and this is texmex. The chips were in tiny pieces — like what’s left at the bottom of a bag. Poor presentation also included wilted tomatoes, lettuce and cilantro. Nice ingredients just not freshly cut or at least stored properly. It seemed too run down for me to return. If I do it will only be for drinks.

Meh. The tortilla soup was absolutely disgusting. Tomato soup with chunks of avocado and strips of tortilla with no good flavor. I sent it back. My quesadilla with chicken was decent, but nothing is spicy! Sad. This is such boring food. They have lost their magic. Only came here because food was free tonight.

It took about 15 minutes to get drinks… The queso was basically melted Velveeta. Will not return

Was in the mood for Mexican and the Rio Grande was fairly near work so I was off to get some Rio Grande tex mex. I ordered 2 tacos. 1 pork and 1 beef. The tacos were very good and both tacos had great flavor. They also served homemade chips for free which were pretty good as well. The salsa I had with the chips was hot and I enjoy a hot salsa but this one definitely got my nose running! Meal was 12.00 bucks so a bit on the high side but the food was actually pretty darn good.

I love this place for the margaritas, which are STRONG and the ambiance is nice and relaxing. They have a great happy hour menu and a super friendly staff. I’ve been coming here for a couple years when I’m in the area and I love it. The fajitas are delicious as well as their enchiladas, deep fried jalapeño slices and the shrimp tacos. It’s a great hang out spot and the patio is nice during the summer as well.

Everyone loves the Rio for their margs, and I agree that they are some of the best in town. I love the margs too, but I have to give them credit for some pretty delicious Mexican food, too. The steak fajitas are my favorite, but every meal I’ve had here has been great. And that’s not just the super-strong margarita’s talking. Love this place!

Fun atmosphere with ok food. We had a party of 16 and everyone seemed to enjoy what they ordered. I ordered the shrimp fajitas but with the special sauce, pretty spicy but tasty. Everyone pretty much reached their 3 margarita limit. After we closed the tab and tipped 20%… my uncle asked for a glass of wine to end his night and the server responded with, «I would, but you guys tipped like shit, so no.»

Very disappointed with this place. When we walked in as a party of two at about 4pm on a weekday, the hostess took about 5 – 7 minutes just to seat us «to find out what tables might be available». But ~ I’m patient, so no real problem. When we got to the table, it was filthy and so was the empty booth next to it. The hostess said she would go get something to clean the table with. She came back with a wet/dampened rag that was obviously dirty from already being used and she attempted to «clean» the table. She ended up just pushing the debris around. She left the table wet, placed the menus on the table and told us our server would be with us. We did ask her to dry the table, and she did come back with a few paper towels ~ but right away, I was turned off. Ordered the house margarita first and something was really«off» about it. My friend had a frozen house margarita and she complained of a similar problem. It could have been the type of tequila they used, so for our second we ordered a more expensive one and it was much better. The food was satisfactory ~ but overall, not a pleasant dining experience. Will not go back and will probably remember it as POOR.

I have been to Rio Grande on a number of occasions. I would say the main driver is they have the best Margaritas on the planet(this is just the basic one). With that in mind their food is average and a good compliment to the tasty treat(marg). I like their pork burrito with green chili. Their Tacos are pretty good too. The chips and salsa is very good and can be spicy but not too bad. I had the guacamole the other day and was excellent(fresh with some nice additions). I don’t remember having bad food there in my many trips. The two things I would say could be improved would be: — seasonal or additional menu items. If you go there a lot not a ton to choose even if you have a few go to choices. — the food prices. To put into context I now live in San Luis Obispo area of California and it is very expensive place. The prices for rio are on par with high end Mexican food restaurant on the cliff where you can watch the sunset and ocean crashing against the sea wall. My point is 11.50 for burrito is tad high. If they added a few more menu items and lowered the price abut could be 5 stars in my book. At least the planet saving Margs are still 7 $. Either way go for it and see for yourself. Just beware they are strong and need a driver or time to let body adjust(movie theatre 20 feet from there too!)

Every time I come to this restaurant I am more pleased than the time before. The service here is extraordinary in spite of the fact that it is a large restaurant that is usually packed. Our waiter Jeremy was awesome and made us feel as if he was only waiting on us in spite of the fact that the place was packed to the gills. The food was good as always and the margaritas amazing. Definitely coming back every time I visit Denver! It is my favorite local place

My review could be slightly swayed by my alcohol level at the time & my memory, but what I do remember was great. We had a late night snack & drinks with some friends. Spicy Margarita’s — Amazing! We had chips with Queso & Pork Taco’s to share which were both really yummy. Our server was a really friendly guy too.

Huge fan of their strong margs! Not a fan of their prices for food. I have been here for a couple birthday gatherings now. I love the chips and salsa and the margaritas here. I also love the giant guac, especially since they keep various ingredients on the side so you can choose how much you want on your bite. The service and atmosphere of this place is very good. The thing that is lacking is the entrees. Everything hovers around $ 13 and the value just isn’t there. I had a veggie burrito which was about $ 11. I would have so much rather have gone to Los Dos Potrillos a few miles west on County Line to get a burrito smothered in much better green chili for a much more reasonable price and better flavor. Tacos are also just meh for the price you are paying. Fajitas are absolutely tiny for the $ 15 you are shoveling out. Overall the food is completely generic and overpriced by about $ 5 per entrée. Come here for margs and chips and salsa then go somewhere else for dinner. If you are going to get an an entrée, the chili rellenos are very good here(and big!) an a la carte relleno is the way to go.

The food at The Rio is okayyy… My steak burrito was too salty. and I had to keep eating off of my friend’s rice and beans just to get something not salty in my mouth. But I did like their spicy chili that smothered my burrito! It was the perfect level of spice :) Their portion size is pretty big. I couldn’t finish my burrito and had to take half home… This always happens at Mexican restaurants b/c I end up eating too much chips and salsa while waiting for the food hehehe. The strawberry margarita was delicious and refreshing! I would definitely order that again. The staff was super nice and quick. I don’t think I would go out of my way to come back here… but I had a fun experience nonetheless!
