I received a Soft Surroundings robe for Christmas and I loved it! However, it was the wrong size so I had to return it at the store. I found the salespeople at the store pretty helpful, so I have no complaints there, which is why my review has 2 starts and not 1. While exchanging the item, the sales rep told me that they would have to order it online since they didn’t have it in the store, and have it shipped to my house — no big deal at all. I received an email that night with the confirmation — perfect. The next morning I got an email saying that the item I ordered could not be shipped, here’s 10 bucks, sorry for the inconvenience. Bummer, but again, no big deal… I thought that I would just go ahead and go online and see what else I liked, so I picked out the same robe, different color, status said«in stock». I called customer service to see if I could have the other color shipped instead, and they said«nope». I asked why, and the woman told me that it wasn’t available. I asked how I could tell what was available, and she said that the system doesn’t update right away. Apparently the sales associates don’t have accurate data either since it was available when they placed the order the night before, gone the next day, and now I can’t get the robe that I was so happy about. I didn’t like how I was treated by customer service, as they did not try and help me at all find something else that WAS available. Now I have a Soft Surroundings gift card that I’ll have to use on something I don’t really want. Soft Surroundings — you will get the $ 125 that I have to spend there, but you will never have my repeat business. Go back to school and remind yourselves what the retail business and customer service is all about.

OUCH! I have been to this store, as well as the one in Kansas City. I have also been an online and catalogue shopper with Soft Surroundings for over ten years. First of all, their merchandise is very high quality so I just don’t get the reference to poor quality. Granted, in ever«batch» there is bound to be a couple of lemons but those have been few and far between. In fact, their skirts are my favorite. I always get compliments whenever and wherever I wear them. Second, the comment about the help. I remember being treated respectfully. I have never had a bad experience with this company. I’m just baffled by the other two reviews. It almost seems they are rival Companies trying to persuade you not to go through the doors because they know you will love it there! Please, give the place a shot. I think you will find my review much closer to the truth.

I have step inside this store on several occasions and have been assisted with sales help only once. The one time I was she was rude and very put out. Now did I come dressed nicely to try on clothing. No, I was in jeans, sneakers, and a comfortable shirt. Now I review the catalogue and dare I step inside the store to review the item. I use to buy some items from the catalogue, but lately have not found much. Must be the experience has turned me off. Oh well, there are other store to shop at.

Horrid in store customer service. I will just buy online and never go into the store. Unfortunate, because they are close. The sales staff seem very inconvenienced by customers.
