I am giving this business a one star as their dental hygienist is great so at least was happy with that part of my visits there. I wish I could rave about Dr. Leins, but my experience with his work was anything but pleasant. I had been going to get my teeth cleaned for 4 years and had no other issues until one of my very old fillings from another dentist I had used 15 years before finally gave way and I had to go get what I thought was a simple filling. After I got the filling I had pain that night and asked to come back in as I had never had pain from a filling before, so was told that most likely my bite needed adjusting. I went back in and they readjusted my bite, but after chewing and using it for another couple of days it was still painful and just didn’t feel right, but I felt like a baby going to get it readjusted but my hubby encouraged me and so I made another appt. to get it readjusted. This went on for over a month where I would complain it was painful and also they gave me some pain pills to help, and finally after 5 trips in and 5 weeks later the pain finally subsided. During all this time I was told«I think you must just be very sensitive as this usually doesn’t go on» and I sensed he felt frustrated with me. Again, I felt like a baby that I was having pain and it sounded like it was me just complaining. I was pretty upset after all this and wrote Dr. Leins a letter that outlined my frustration and asked for him to reply with his thoughts. He never called or wrote back and I decided that was the end of my relationship with his practice. Flash forward as I recently decided to go to another dentist near to where I reside to get my teeth cleaned and they took x-rays and told me that I will need a root canal on the tooth that I had Dr. Leins work on. They said it was infected down in the root and had been that way most likely for some time. All the pain that I was having before was my root was dying in that tooth and they were very surprised he wouldn’t have addressed this as it was obvious to them what was going on. Normally one doesn’t go 5 weeks with pain for a simple filling. This was a real eye opener and so am hoping this posting will help others, as if you have pain it’s a signal something is wrong and you should definitely get a second opinion.
