Cheeburger Cheeburger is my personal favorite for hamburgers in the Denver area. I’ve tried many of the other names, some national, some local, and I feel that Cheeburger makes the best hamburger /cheeseburger around. A juicy, delicious hamburger, with some of the best shakes & malts in the greater Denver area. A rock solid product, a family-friendly place, and owners that care about their customers. Some of the other reviews make me wonder if they’ve been to the same place I have, but then everyone has their own opinion of what makes a good hamburger. My opinion is that Cheeburger is king.

Hey forget about it! No, really, please do … I guess there is a reason it’s called cheeburger because the thing that the kitchen puts out can’t be called a cheeseburger. The meat is bland, the buns are cold and not tasty … I can go on and on and on and on but by now hopefully you get the drift! The soda(Pepsi) was wet and the ice cubes were cold and the glass was clean(had to get the positives out of the way). Don’t waste your money! You can get a better burger for a better price. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the 50’s are over … so the décor might need to have a bit of an update, but then again, what do I know about décor. I do know food thought and this place, well, it ain’t it!

Good burger joint for tastiness and shakes and gluten free buns. However, they cook their fries in the same oil as the onion rings and chicken tenders so fries are not gluten free. Would go up to 5 stars for me if they offered gluten free fries and I would probably eat there like once a week. If you are non celiac and don’t care about the gluten, rating would be 5 stars for good menu, tasty burgers and shakes.

I think the caption for the two-star rating sums it up: «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» There are too many great tavern burgers nearby to warrant coming here to pay a premium price for slow service and mediocre food.

Ugh. Don’t waste your money! You can get a better burger for a better price, faster and without the tacky décor at Five Guys! Two thumbs down!

Quick Review: Mediocre(not bad, but very forgettable) hamburger. Very overpriced. I don’t live very close to a Cheeburger Cheeburger, so when i was in the neighborhood i decided to check it out. I was expecting sort of a 5 Guys deal or maybe a little better(and a little pricier). What i recieved was probably on par with 5 Guys, maybe a tad better, but not by much. However, 7 oz burger with fries/onion rings and a pop ran me $ 15 by the time i left. Definitely not worth $ 15. For that much money, we could have hit up Cherry Cricket or Providence Tavern(or some other place that actually serves what i would consider a top notch burger) and probably spent the same amount, or maybe even a little less. 2 stars for alright service and food that wasn’t horrid, just really, really overpriced. If i’m going to have a forgetable burger, it had better be cheap. Diner atmosphere at nice restaurant prices. Will not be returning. If you’re thinking about going here, go to a place like Smash Burger, they will give you a similar burger but at ½ the price.

Solid 3 star establishment if you ask me. I have read some of the reviews and can agree with some and disagree with others. This place was recommended by a friend as a decent burger joint. If you have read my reviews you know I love burgers. I was down! We were seated immediately and the host explained the whole menu very nicely to me since it was my first time. I will admit it did take our waiter quite a while to even greet us and take our drink orders. This wasn’t as obvious this visit since I was reviewing the menu and shake selections so much. Once we were greeted he was very nice! I decided on the Berry Berry milkshake and my guest enjoyed the Chocolate Peanut butter one. I have to admit I liked his more, the combo was amazing and super tasty. We both ordered burgers — DUH! Mine had pepper jack cheese, Worcestershire, sauteed onions, lettuce and chopped garlic. It was really tasty! The bread wasn’t great, it was just okay. Kind of like previous reviews. The fries and onion rings were pretty yummy. I would come back for the milkshakes!!!

Short Review: Their burgers are mediocre(although not gross), greasier than average, and very expensive for what you get! I like my burgers with blue cheese, sauteed onions, sauteed mushrooms, bacon, and A1 sauce — cost me about $ 15 — definitely not justified. And considering you can get the same set-up with a vastly superior burger at 5 Guys for $ 6.50, I would say there is pretty much no reason to ever go back to Cheeburger Cheeburger again.

Amazing malts, great milkshakes, awesome burgers. It’s one of my favorite places to eat. I don’t come here as often as I’d like because burgers and malts aren’t very kind on the waistline, but whenever I can, I try to make space for their malts. A half malt can last me an entire day. ETA October 2012: Closed! T_T I’m sad. Hubby and I drove up one day wanting some Cheeburger, only to find they’d closed the week before. Boo… another one bites the dust.

We’ve been here three times, always with a coupon(they’ve run deals with all of the popular websites). It’s a trashy place, with greazy food and it’s overpriced. The fries are better at Good Times. The onion rings are just nasty. Last time in, we had a hair in our milkshake, and then a different hair in our burger! YUCK! The whole place is run by a bunch of kids. We’ll never be back.

The place is fun for kids and people like me who love to take lomo pictures with my iPhone. It kind of reminds one of Gunther Toody’s. Our waiter, besides being patient(he had to do a lot of explanations because there are so many possibilities on the menu), was not very good. Not once did he come and check on us to see if the food was OK. Before we were ready to go, he kind of threw our to-gos to our table without even greeting us!!! None of the food was as raving as their menu suggests except for the milk shake which was fantastic! You can get as many flavors as possible, we got three: The Brownie Batter(recommended by the waiter as one of the most popular) + The Frozen Hot Chocolate + Macademia Nuts. The shake was so smooth and flavorful, just dreamy! As far as the food, we got the Angus Burger platter with the bun. The patty was tasteless yet the bun tasted funny. It came with a side of onion rings which would’ve tasted better if still hot, and it was visibly greasy! Got a side of fries too as we wanted to try one of their specialty dip sauces — ordered the Garden Veggie one, it was terrible, just sour! The fries were just OK too. The platter also came with a side salad which didn’t look or taste appetizing. Probably wouldn’t go again, not for the food anyway, for the shake maybe. Went there because of the Living Social deal…

The burger was cooked as ordered and the toppings were all pretty decent. The diced green chile was nice and large chunks, not the typical tiny diced stuff I was expecting. It was still out of a can. The décor is a little like a 50’s diner on LSD. Which isn’t entirely bad I suppose, and there are trivia cards at your table to make the wait go by seamlessly. The onion rings were gree-see! A little bit gross. But the fries were fine and the dipping sauce was pretty ok. Lots of flavors of malts and shakes. I think I’ll go back and have one some time.

Pretty good but pricey. Got 5 burgers, 4 shakes, Lg fry & Lg onion ring & it came out to about $ 80. I will say they dont skimp on the meat, burger as cooked beautifully & tasted great. Sauteed onion & mushroms cost more to add, but worth it. Shakes were $ 5…a little pricy for a LG. but you cant deny the selection Great family environment & friendly staff. The cheese & veggie sauces were a bit of a disapointment, but the creamy jalepano was great. Over all I will go back because i’ve tried other burger places in Parker/Lone Tree/Littleton & they dont stack up.

I hate to say it, but I really couldn’t find an excuse to go higher on this rating. Now I had never heard of this place until I bought a $ 25 coupon off of Living Social a while back. I finally had some time to check it out, so I took my mom, as we really love a good lunch of burgers and beer. When we got here, I realized that wasn’t going to happen. It’s a Malt Shoppe for kids. No beer. Horribly obnoxious pink and neon décor, very uninviting. I thought about scrapping the place, but we were hungry and figured we’d just get a burger and go. It took the server almost 10 minutes to come to the table. By this time we had decided, and ordered a basket of fries and onion rings to go with the burgers. They had a quatro of dipping sauces that weren’t much to speak of. One was cheez wiz, the other three were mayo with little to distinguish them. The fries were bland. The burgers weren’t much better than fast food, and the buns were stale and way too big. I finally ended up just eating the patty. I ordered blue cheese on mine, and there was way too much! I love blue cheese, but a little goes a long way. The onion rings were decent, but frankly not good enough to offset the rest of the experience. A couple of other things to mention: the drinks are served in mason jars! I don’t know if that’s considered quaint, but those simply aren’t comfortable to drink from. On the table was a jar of their own brand of seasoning, which is truly nothing but salt and pepper. If I had known what kind of a place this was I would never have bought the coupon, but after having been there once, I truly consider it a waste of a lunch. Extremely overpriced, bland meat, stale bread, and nothing was really prepared, just thrown together and heated up, I wouldn’t even call it cooked.

Can’t say I was terribly impressed by Cheeburger Cheeburger. The 1950’s atmosphere in the place was almost too cutesy and the Trivia cards at each table helped pass the time. The burger itself was just all right, altho $ 8 for a burger with no sides seemed a little much. I got the half pound, well done with cheese and bacon on it. I promptly took the bun off(no gluten here) and the flavor of the meat was pretty good. There were 6 of us at the table and we split a couple baskets of fries/onion rings that were honestly nothing to write home about. The service was good but didn’t blow me away and at the end of the day I felt like my $ 15 lunch would’ve been better somewhere else.

Since Lone Tree is quite a ways from me, I rarely get down there, and when I AM in the general vicinity, I head to Bud’s Bar for the best hamburger in Denver. This time, however, I remembered Cheeburger, and having been a long-time fan(25 years) of its’ original location on Captiva Island, Florida, decided to head in with some anticipation and nostalgia on my mind. We arrived just before noon on a Saturday. There were plenty of empty tables, and we were behind a patron who had apparently went looking for other options and ‘settled’ for Cheeburger. That should have been our first clue. We were taken to a table in the middle of the room, which was dirty.(The Hostess even ‘brushed’ something off the seat of one of the chairs) Nonetheless, she slapped down our menus, and said«Enjoy!» At this point, my hopes were still high. We perused the list of ice cream shakes. For $ 5. For one Shake. So much for value. Also asked(thankfully) and came to find out that the shakes are all Vanilla-based, with the«flavor» provided by a squirt or two of «Syrup.» For $ 5. No thank you. We ordered a water and a Mountain Dew. When the waiter brought the Mountain Dew, we had to wait for him to take another table’s order(6 people) and ignore us to put their order in to the kitchen, before we could be rewarded with his grunt when we asked for a replacement Mountain Dew, this time without the mysterious swirling ‘things’ throughout the glass. He brought it and left it. 5 minutes later, he asked if «That Mountain Dew was better?»… Well, Yes. This one only had ONE mysterious swirling thing. Sigh. Our order: 1 Semi-Serious(1⁄3 lb) Burger with Cheddar, 2 Onion Rings, BBQ Sauce, and a side of Ranch. $ 6 1 Semi-Serious(1⁄3 lb) Burger with Swiss, Coleslaw, Mayo, and Grey Poupon. $ 6 1 Small Onion Rings $ 3.50 The Food Arrives: The first burger had about a quarter-sized shmear of BBQ Sauce on it. We flagged down the waiter and asked for more, which he begrudgingly brought. Both Burgers: The buns were crumbly and dry, but I don’t know if that is due to staleness or improper or cheap baking techniques.(I left my bun in the basket.) The second burger was much smaller than the first, although they were ordered(and charged for) the same size. The mayonnaise was missing entirely, the swiss cheese had that overly«sour» flavor of poor-quality swiss(Rather than nutty, musky GOOD quality swiss.) The«Coleslaw» was chopped cabbage dripping in loose white goo, and sparsely applied(as the BBQ sauce was). They did remember the Dijon Mustard, although it really looked as if they had simply poured an entire jar of it over the entire burger. Literally. I had to scrape it off. The meat on both burgers was dry and cake-ey. The extra BBQ Sauce was required just to lubricate the throat in order to choke the burger down. I can’t imagine what it would have been like with that dry, crumbly bun. And the Onion Rings: These are gems I remember from my childhood at Cheeburger in Captiva. Bigger than your hand, golden fried, thick slices of sweet onion… Yeah, these were SO not it. These were thin, greasy to a fault(The extra grease pooled up in the basket) and had no real ONION flavor. Sadness in my heart. In closing, I’d obviously recommend that you steer clear of this place. Within 5 miles, for the same cost(Or LESS), you have the options of FatBurger, SmashBurger, and even The Cheesecake Factory. And if you want to experience a Real Burger, for Burger Purists, take a 15 minute drive south on Highway 85 to Sedalia, and hit Bud’s Bar. But by all means, even if you’re NOT a fan of the Original Cheeburger, Cheeburger, your money and taste buds are best saved and spent elsewhere.

GET rid of the waiter concept! Chee Chee should be a order @ the front, get a number and wait for your food to come kind of a joint. There is no reason a burger and shake place needs waiters! Totally ridic. Had to get a portobello burger b/c the veggie burger has cheese. Ugh. Gross. The fries were good. At least all the ones that seemed to be cooked. Completely disappointed by this place. Bleh. Wasted way more money than I wanted!

I stopped in here for lunch today with some people I used to work with. They make a nice burger and it was perfectly medium. The family approach to ordering fries /onion rings is nice, and the burger was huge while the bun was even bigger. The one thing I don’t like about the ordering format is that you have to pick every possible topping for the burger from a long list. It would be nice for simplicity if you could order a popular combination, like BBQ bacon cheeseburger with Jalapeños. But instead you have to itemize all those things. Oh well. I like drinking out of Mason jars. It’s a little ghetto, but I do it at home sometimes too.

What can you say about a burger joint from some time in the past? I went for the burger and they made it just like I wanted it. There are 2 items from my order that stood out: Cherry Coke Fries In my heart of hearts, I am an olé skool kinda guy. I remember my grandmother giving me Coke with a splash or 2 of cherry juice(concentrated of course) and the homemade thick cut french fries. Ohh how I miss you momma!!! This combination brought back great memories for me and this place will hold a special place… Only if they had RUM!!!
