We were here last night and had a great time. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They were very attentive and everyone tended to our table even though it was only two of us. I happened to be wearing a USC sweater and the waitress even served my beer in a USC beer glass. Not a big deal, but I did feel special. The food orders came out quick. I had the baked lobster roll and it was very flavorful and a bang for your buck! For dessert we shared the tempura cheesecake and that was amazing. It had berries on it along with chocolate sauce, you must save room for this. Overall very pleasant experience.

You’re still my favorite place for lunch. Well hell, dinner too. Have been other places and still prefer yours. Thank you.

I am from the S.F. Bay Area, have been on a job/project in Lompoc for 6 weeks, and have been eating out most every night. Been going down the Unilocal list of reviews for food choices and so far I am not impressed with anything in Lompoc. I decided to give Umami Ya Sushi a try, not expecting much from a strip mall type sushi place in Lompoc. Ordered the Chirashi Bowl and a house salad. Wow, looks like I will be eating sushi for the rest of my stay. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I ordered take out so I don’t know how the inside service is.

Great service clean place. I don’t eat soup but it was a cold night and I got the tofu ramen it was bomb. Wife ate the Hawaiian cooler she loved it. Seared pepper tuna wrap was great. And the Japanese checahrones were better than I expected. Trust me I eat out 7 times a week and I would come back.

Delicious. Beautiful. Fresh. What more can be said? Awesome sushi, good service. We had garlic edamame, two rolls, and two spicy tuna hand rolls. Everything was very flavorful and fresh. Would definitely come again.

Being spoiled by sushi in major cities(Dallas, DC area) it is not a surprise that the sushi here did not really seem that special. I ordered the Hawaiian poke, aloha roll, and salmon roe(ikura). I sat at the sushi bar, and I received my food promptly. The wasabi and ginger came out with pickled and sliced Japanese cucumber(alright tasting). The Hawaiian poke was decent. The sushi roll — something about the sushi rice was off putting. Just didn’t taste as good as it could taste. The salmon roe tasted sticky and different then the normal exuberant-burst-in-your-mouth wonderful that it typically is. As for sushi places go, I wouldn’t go back unless I had no other options. Pricing was expensive.

I stopped by here for a quick supper one night. The menu had typical sushi fare, and as a vegan my options were somewhat limited. I opted for the fresh tofu salad and an avocado roll. The salad was nice, nothing spectacular but not bad. The best part was the salad dressing. The roll was pretty standard too – you really can’t go wrong with an avocado roll! Prices were reasonable, staff were friendly and courteous, and the place was well kept and cute inside. I’d go back if I happened to be in the area again.

Our family *loves* this place! The food is fantastic and the staff are great. We’ve had nothing but good experiences here and it’s our favorite restaurant in town. All the sushi we’ve had has been top notch and it’s even won over my girlfriend, who isn’t overly fond of fish. Start with the monkey balls and plan to enjoy everything that shows up. I very strongly recommend the Cloud 9. It starts with spicy tuna rolls and adds just the right amount of amazing for it to be a culinary delight. It’s a blend of flavors and it’s going to be a regular purchase for us. The coconut shrimp are fantastic and I recommend those as well. If you’re looking for great food with great staff, this is a great place to go. With three greats in one sentence, it’s a trifecta! Enjoy your meal… 8-)

A great amount of food and good service. Some dishes are unique and interesting to me! They do create some dishes that add a unique take on sushi such as the bomb dish. This place is worth trying at least once.
