One of the most unfriendly, no customer service friendly nail salons I have ever been to. I made an appointment for 12 Noon and was there 10 minutes early. When I arrived, I was asked what do you want? Explained that I had an appointment and was told to pick a color which I did. I waited almost 25 minutes while two technicians worked on one customer and there were no other technicians. Neither one of them acknowledged that one of them would do my manicure within a specific period of time. I walked out. The whole experience was bizarre! If you are from out of town– Do Not Go Here!

I’ll start out this review by admitting that I’m a nail snob. (Seriously, check my other reviews.) I was pretty bummed out by the fact that I would have to move back to my hometown and away from all of the AMAZING nail artists in OC, honestly. I didn’t really think that there was anyone in town that could match their finesse.
And for the most part, I was right! I visited quite a few nail salons in town that were straight up run down, dirty, and unsanitary and was always disappointed. Nailcessity was probably the fifth I tried in town, but I’m happy I did! Van and Linda are absolutely amazing. Not only are they super good at what they do, but entertaining as well. :-) I haven’t asked them for anything too crazy/​outlandish just yet, but from their sample nails and menu they seem quite talented!
I get a gel mani every time, which is always super quick and incredibly affordable. They usually last me about three weeks. My nails are paper thin though, so your mileage may vary.
The place is very large, and clean. They get booked pretty quickly though, so don’t always count on just walking in. I always make an appointment a day in advance, no problem.
All in all, as long as I’m in town, I’ll keep patronizing Nailcessity!

Called at 10 and made an appt for 11:15 to start soaking and start the appt at 11:30. I arrived at 11:05 and was ignored until 11:20. I then was told to pick a color and sit and soak. First off, low and bad color choices for gel nails. Second, I had gel from another salon and my nail tech couldn’t get it off, it took her 30mins easy and still didn’t get it all off. She didn’t talk to me, charged $ 35 because «it was difficult to get the previous polish off,» and I was very unhappy. I had heard good things about this place but, I’ll stick to the places I know.

My first time at this nail Salon I was so pleased I’ve already booked my second appointment for tomorrow! Van is a genius and she is very attentive to requests! This was my first gel set and I could not have been happier with the look and overall quality of the paint!

I love these ladies! They are always open, have stayed late, and go the extra mile working around mine and my mother’s crazy schedules. We’ve been going since they first opened and have never had a bad experience. Linda does my gels and they are seriously always perfect. I have gone other places when I’m away on business and other gels never seem to last more than 5 or 6 days. At Nailcessity I almost always get 2 weeks out of them. Not to mention they are super friendly and very funny! Love love!

First time here and I had an overall good experience. I called to make an appointment and did not have to wait very long. I had a gel mani/​pedi and was very pleased with my nails. I will come again and update my review in a couple of weeks.

I am new to the area and spent some time getting recommendations from the locals before walking into this highly recommended establishment. I was not greeted warmly and professionally and once greeted was treated as though i was an inconvenience. After I picked my nail color, I was blatantly ignored as I stood in front of the woman who had just instructed me to pick the color, as she continued to work on painting a display nail. After about a full minute of her not looking up at me, I’d decided I’d subjected myself to enough indifference and proceeded to sit the polish down in front of her and advise her that I would not be needing their services and then walked out. (Found another provider down the street).

Made an appointment at 430 for 530 and was seated in the chair by 545. Had a gel mani and a pedi. Wen (sp) took her time and made sure each nail was perfect. Love my nails! Thanks… I will be back.

From the outside, one might bypass this joint, but I was extremely happy with the staff and quality of work. Van did my nails (full set) & was fun to talk with. She listened to all my requests and executed. I’m always weary of going somewhere new, but I’m glad I gave this shop a chance. I will DEFINITELY be going back. Their prices are fair, too. The only thing to companion about, really, is the strong nail-​salon smell. It was a bit overwhelming in the beginning. Could use some ventilation.

Still loving the care and attention from Linda, Van and «mom»!! Beautiful nail work… and Linda does an AMAZING mani/​pedi massage. I love Nailcessity!

Never go to this place my wife had an apt at 3PM and waited 30 mins because they had only 2 girls working with 5 people in the salon. They didn’t even acknowledge her until she went to walk out and got mad at her and started yelling at her…
NEVER GO HERE and prices are horrible

I for the most part always go to Nailcessity. Out of curiosity I have tried other places. I will be going back to Nailcessity from now on. Clean and friendly. Work is always nice. Sometimes it feels as if they rush when they are busy, but I will take that over dirty and rude anytime. I recommend appointments because they are busy.

Best nail salon ever! Use to do my own for 8 years b/​c no one measured up to my standards. Not the case here. In fact, both Linda and Van are fantastic! Not to mention that they couldn’t be nicer! Great part of my day when I’m there!

I have been going to Nailcessity for over 5 years, and frankly, I don’t get the other reviews on Unilocal.The nail tech that I go to there is Van, and she is amazing; her pink and whites are perfect, as are her pedicures. I am a spa owner in Santa Barbara and have had these same services from Goleta to Montecito, and she is the best I have found. The nail salon is not dirty in the least, but apparently it attracts some not very nice patrons???

Went to treat myself for a mani/​pedi and had heard good things about this salon, so thought I’d give this place a try. I called to check their hours and was told they would be closing early, 3pm, because there were no appointments on the books. I said I would be right in and asked if the salon was «kid friendly» and met with a rude remark, but it was at my discretion. Upon my arrival 15 minutes later, on a Tuesday afternoon, I was 4^th in line and rudely looked over before told it would be a 30 minute wait. Even at that I decided to sit down and decide if I wanted to wait. I ultimately left when a patron exited after a pedicure and the woman openly made negative remarks about the woman’s feet! I immediately left and will not be back, as nail salons are a luxury for this busy gal.

This is the only place I will go to. I love Linda and Van, they both do great acrylics, mani & pedi. I usually call and make an appt now because this place has gotten really busy in the last couple of years but they do take walk ins… you might have to wait a while though on busy days.
I also got my first gel/​shellac manicure the other day and even though it’s fairly pricy for a manicure ($ 25) it’s so awesome. There is no drying time, my nails feel stronger, and the polish is suppose to last for 2 weeks!!!

After leaving Allure because they don’t do pink and white fills. This was the next rated salon on Unilocal.When I walked in they looked at the clock and said we don’t do pink and white. I think it was close to closing time so they made up that excuse. I would not have stayed any way because the salon looked dirty and run down. Stay away from this place.

This place does a great job! One of the best in Lompoc! It’s best to call and make an appointment but they can usually cater to walk-​ins.
