Used them to install some recessed lighting and switches in two rooms and install a ceiling fan. Called to ask if they could come out and give me a quote but Bill the owner said he would estimate it was going to be $ 500-$ 600. Also said that labor is $ 85 an hour which was in that $ 500-$ 600. He asked with that in mind would you like to set a day up to get it done. I said yes. Two guys came out to do the install and were good, no major issues with them. However, they did hit a nail which pushed through the drywall and just spackled it. I am fine with that not a large hole. I told them where I wanted the switch and he put it somewhere else because he thought it was a better location, okay. Ended up being harder/more work for them, but I am okay with the placement. One thing that did kinda piss me off was they asked if we wanted them to clean up the mess, all the dust, drywall and insulation on the floor. Adding that if we did it would mean more time which means more money basically. So my wife said she would just clean it. They wrote up the bill and it came out to $ 945! I said hold on a minute. Bill said it would be between $ 500-$ 600. I would of honestly been okay payjng more if it would have been explained it better. I told them to stand by while I called their boss. Got him on the line and explained the situation. He kinda came across as sarcastic and not very professional. I told him I was not trying to get out of a bill or be an ass. It was just not what we had talked about. Since two guys came out one got an hourly rate of $ 85 an hour and the other one said he lowered his to $ 65 an hour for us, thanks. Didn’t know I was paying them each hourly rates. Told Bill all of this needs to be explained to the customer a little better. Not everyone knows how electricians or you charge. Anyways we came to an agreement of $ 700 and I may have given the two guys a little extra because it really wasn’t their fault. Really not sure if I would use them again or not. Like I said the workers are good, just the lack of communication or breakdown of what to expect.
