I bit into an aquarium gravel sized rock. 0⁄10 would not return. Food was also rather bland.

I give 3 star because of their service is kind of ok compare to other dim sum restaurant. However their food is just ok. Some menus are not even good. If it’s only food I would give them 2 star. Tips. Avoid Xiaolongbao, Turnip cake and egg tart. There are many places that are better than this place but this one is the close to my house.

Went here for a funeral reception and was pleasantly surprised. The food here is tasty. House special noodles(crispy), honey walnut shrimp, fried fish, steamed fish, green beans were all delish. Our waiter was funny and attentive. I’ll definitely be back.

Dimsum is decent. But I prefer the chicken feet in Ocean Seafood.

Would agree with other reviewers that the service is spotty and its not the most well kept place, but it’s not the first time these types of issues have been associated with a Chinese restaurant. The dim sum wasn’t bad and saved a drive to the San Gabriel valley. I will return.

Where should I start? Should I talk about how horrible the service is or talk about how disgusting it is inside? I guess I’ll start with the decrepit décor of the so called Restaurant. Everything inside looks old like it was from the early 90’s. The tiles on the floor going towards the kitchen is dirtier than a sleeping bag on «skid row.» The tanks that house the lobster and crab are filthy. If you like mildew lobster stir fry with a side of lime and calcium deposit then be my guest. As for the service, haha what service?! There is absolutely no service whatsoever, the guy that wears the long sleeve button up with a tie is rude and does not care about any customer. I ordered 2 items and he said that the wait was 10 minutes. I called in my order(mind you) gave them 10 extra minutes just in case and I still had to wait 15 minutes for my food. The place wasn’t even busy. I sat there and watched people come in, sit down and eat while I was waiting for my sui mai and pork bun. How hard is it to put the food that is already made into a to go box? If you like mediocre food and horrible service in a dirty restaurant then please visit PV Palace.

Food– was pretty good. We had the per person lunch special i was with my mother and father they thought the food was good too. We had orange peel chicken, kung pao shrimp, beef with black bean sauce and I also ordered 1 pork siomai and the shrimp and scallop har gow now that you have to try. The pricing was alright not that expensive because we had the lunch special. O yeah and it also came with fried rice and egg drop soup. Hot house Tea was good also. Service– was really good given that it was an old guy that was serving us. Water and hot tea was always refilled. Cleanliness– well it’s a chinese retaurant, So what do u expect. But not as bad as other chinese restos. Restroom was alright. But only one toilet. All in all i think this place is a good place to eat at. Eating with friends, family or co-workers yes i think i would recommend thid place and i would eat here again if i’m in the neighborhood.

I absolutely adore this place. I try to come at least once a week for their dim sum. Every time I’ve come the food has been fantastic. I’m from New York and back there it’s so easy to find a great dim sum place, since I’ve been in California it’s been very difficult. I’m so glad I finally found a nice restaurant near my home that serves authentic Hong Kong style dim sum. The food quality never disappoints, as well as the service. Not a bad price for the amount of food either! I definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re ever in the South Bay. Oh, and ignore the ‘dirty’ reviews, people don’t seem to understand that aprons get food stains when you cook. It’s kinda what their made for.

Warning: This is not a Panda Express or Hong Kong Express. If that’s the kind of exposure you’ve had for Chinese cuisine, you may not grasp or appreciate this place. This is authentic Chinese cuisine — the kind that sophisticated foodies will appreciate. If you watch Antonio Bourdain, the places he goes to don’t have the whitest apron wearing servers either– based on someone’s review here. I actually like that the aprons are not pristine, it gets dirty when the user is busy serving good food dripping with mind blowing delicious sauces! I love that most of the staff and the cooks are Chinese-they know Chinese food! If I want Spago’s, I’ll go there, but I know what I want and what to expect per restaurant. You know it’s the real deal when all the Chinese go there. Sunday dim sum is awesome. If you haven’t tried it, you’ve got to!

It was disgusting experience… Went there today for lunch with coworker. Waitresses, who serve dim sum, were dressed in white uniform with white apron which was extremely dirty and looks like they did some cleaning job awhile ago, but did not bother to laundry uniform after that… Then the floor manager(I assume) comes by to take a separate order for soup. He was wearing also white shirt with rolled up sleeves. The sleeves from inside and collar were also very dirty! I almost through up… Never saw such dirty dressed people served people in restaurant! Avoid this«restaurant» as a plague!

This place used to be great… like 10 years ago. The service is pretty good still. Friendly and somewhat attentive. But sometimes you’ll find yourself looking for the dim sum cart ladies only to find no one serving food. The food used to be very good but has definitely changed. There’s not a very big selection to choose from either. It’s not terrible, just not that good unfortunately.

Dim Sum was pretty good! I would rate the dim sum at a 4 but bumped it up because the service here is amazing. Hands down the BESTSERVICE I have EVER received in a Chinese restaurant. The thin man that one other reviewer mentioned is super friendly, happy, and a jokester! He asked what our ethnicity was and we replied«Korean» and my grandpa jokingly back asked«what are you» and he replied«Mexican» LOL. The lady that pushes the cart is also pretty funny and friendly but man does she really try to push her product at you haha. And the water boy always made sure our waters were full! I usually have to beg to get my water refilled at Chinese restaurants. Definitely get the egg tarts. The filling was the right custard consistency and the crust was buttery and flakey. Sticky rice was also very good. Love places that offer Dim Sum everyday and not just on the weekends. We went during a weekday and it wasn’t too crowded.

This review is for the servers. The lone woman working the entire dim sum floor and the old thin man who was so nice when I’m typically used to people of my ethnicity being the complete opposite. We were waiting to find the egg tarts to finish our mediocre dim sum experience and he was rushing around, flustered telling us that he was extremely busy. When I apologized, he said«no no! It’s my fault!» So here’s my 5 star review. Because the servers deserve it. And the egg tarts were amazing.

Don’t let the dated outdoor sign, older furniture and smaller size fool you. Dim sum here is definitely good! Not sure whether they take reservations, thankfully arrived here at 10’ish on a SUnday morning. We were the only ones in the restaurant and got two tables for our party of 13(total). Am glad we got there early because it quickly filled up with large parties of 4 and more within minutes. Due to the smaller venue, there was quite a wait for others as those already seated(lucky us!) got their grub on. Menu items are not available until kitchen«opens» at 11am.(Fried rice, chow mein are not dim sum offerings). The dim sum menu is really tops. It is definitely better than my other favorite place(which is local to me), and they carry a larger and more interesting variety. Pork siu mai — yes, Chicken feet — double yes, Shrimp har gow and cilantro shrimp — yes, please. Soup dumpling — don’t even bother waiting for this at DIn Tai Fung. At least they have it here(served 4 apiece per order). Sweet tofu, mango pudding, egg custard tarts, custard roll(ooey-gooey filling inside a soft sweet bun, looked like a super inflated puff of dough). I’ve not seen that last item any place else. The waitresses were so frazzled and YET: kept their smiling faces. Even with all the bustle, one of them remembered a dim sum item we wanted(Fried smelt) and brought it out to our table as soon as the kitchen had some. Also really good: flat noodle with shrimp, Chinese broccoli, Spicy salted shrimp(whole, with head), and crispy calamari(squid tentacles and body).

Solid dim sum place, I always get the same thing when I come for lunch. Staff is friendly and service is efficient, lunch hours aren’t too busy. Variety of dim sum steamed, baked, fried and desserts! from har gow, siu mai, char siu bao, cheong fun, lo mai gai, tau zi fung zao(chicken feet), lo bak gou. & you know that’s just to get you started

Cheap, not too packed, and compact environment. Maybe it’s just the AC, but the food gets cold fairly quickly, so eat and then order more! My personal favorite were the shrimp dishes. Service: Great service! the ladies would come by, smile at us(okay this rarely happens at dim sum places, at least for me), and show us each one of the dishes.

Decent dim sum is hard to come by in the Torrance/South Bay area, especially if you’re not Chinese. This one has a special place in my heart as my family and I come here all the time for occasional splurges in this cuisine. They have a large variety of dishes in dim sum, and I love the fact that they open every day of the week for dim sum. Most Chinese restaurants exclusively serve dim sum only on Sundays. And even though there is more limited options on non-Sunday days, the servers always ask guests if there’s something off the menu they would like-still willing to serve these options. My favorites are the pork shu mai, shrimp noodle, and mango pudding. The pork shu mai are fairly large for its size and are very fresh. The shrimp noodle is really yummy as well as the rice noodle part is made so well. I love the soy sauce/sweet sauce the noodle comes with it. And lastly, the mango pudding-I don’t know where they get this, but this(with the condensed milk) is amazing! Light and almost jello-like, the mango pudding is definitely my favorite and treat. As for off-menu dishes, I love the orange peel chicken and the shrimp chow fun. The orange peel chicken is not your everyday Panda Express orange chicken. The chicken is still deep fried, but the sauce is so much better. More fresh, and I love the fact that actual orange peels are being used in this sauce. As for the shrimp chow fun, there is a great balance of grilled shrimp, flat noodles, and crunchy bean sprouts. These dishes are all $ 6.95 for the lunch special price and all come with soup and rice. A great price! Service is pretty decent here as waiters/waitresses are pretty fast with requests. I do wish parking was a little better as being a huge restaurant, there isn’t much equivalent space. A recommendation for a good local!

Okay dim sum. I came in right after they opened this morning and they were surprisingly crowded. AMBIANCE: Nothing special. The restaurant itself is huge. They can take huge parties absolutely. FOOD: They had so much food coming up to me I really can’t remember the names of all the items I tried… The xiao long bao was pretty bad. It was served cold and had a very chewy texture(not in a good way) 1⁄5 The scallop dumpling 3⁄5 sweet scallop. Served warm. Went very well with their mustard and hot sauce. The shrimp dumpling was my absolute favorite of the meal. The shrimp was juicy and sweet. The texture of the dumpling wasn’t as chewy or thick compared to all of the other dumplings. Another dish I liked was their porridge 4⁄5. The porridge was rich and silky and was very savory. This is definitely a comfort food and it was absolutely yummy! I would eat this if I was sick. SERVICE: Okay. All of the servers aren’t very hospitable but they are very quick and efficient with bringing out the food. Sadly, I do not think they are aware of the fact that some of the food is cold… They should probably do something about that.

I came here for dim sum at lunch time because the other dim sum place across the street of it is closed for remodeling. I did not enjoy it at all. We started off with their calamari which I think was the only good food I ate there. Other than that, everything else we ordered was no good in my opinion. Everything else just tasted very bland and not tasty. I guess I’m comparing it to Szechwan place across the street which is 100 times better than this place. Also, the service was kind Of weird. Mostly everyone was nice but a few of the bust boys were kind of rude. This woman asked for ice water and I guess they just heard«ice» so she said«oh no sorry Ice water» and then the bus boy yelled«YOUSAIDICE! ICE!» and I saw the look on the woman’s face and she seemed very stressed out. –overall probably won’t ever eat here again unless in getting the calamari to go.
