2nd time here. The food and service is good. If anyone goes here, I would recommend«The Mike Molina Omelette«. I would come to this place more often if they would refurbish the inside of their dinner. The booth and carpet is so worn out. On their counter, one of the stools is place with a regular chair. This does not make the place clean; even though the place is clean during my last two visits.

I live a few blocks away so I’ve been here a hand full. of times. The service is great! Friendly older lady always topping off my coffee like a ninja haha I’d visit more often if the food was better. Its really hit or miss. The food is reasonably priced/cheap but I wouldn’t mind paying a few dollars more for quality ingredients. I love the vintage coffee shop feel. Its a shame they don’t put more luv into the food. A little goes a long way I hope someone comes in and updates the menu and puts a little extra effort into making more edible dishes. Sorry Mr. G :(

Old school style diner, for me its in walking distance. The food is decent. Prices are reasonable. Staff is friendly. Unfortunately I am Jaded by my own strong flavorful gourmet French Press coffee with Cinnamon and Coconut milk every morning. Diner coffee looks like hot brown water to me but some people like it that way. I have rarely eaten anything but breakfast and a bowl of Chili here, maybe its time to try the Meatloaf. Do they serve Meatloaf? They gotta have Meatloaf. Maybe Meatloaf Monday? If they were open 24⁄7 I would go a lot more. Most diners should be open 24⁄7.

This is an above average breakfast place with a very friendly staff that serves classic American breakfast combinations. No thrills here but the price is hard to beat for what you get.

Delicious breakfast spot had the Denver omelette with avocado and I was not disappointed. Didn’t get to experience the dine-in experience, but is convenient that they offer carry out.

Been driving past this place for years now and finally had to try it. Best thing I can say about Mr G’s is that it isn’t terrible. The food was edible, but every thing had a weird flavoring to it, maybe its the seasoning or some thing I don’t know but I got some thing pretty simple, Bacon and Eggs and it tasted a little strange. Just didn’t care for it. The toast wasn’t really toasted, just kind of bread with some butter on it. How do you mess up toast? There were some regulars in there and that is pretty cool I like that kind of vibe, so obviously there are people that like this restaurant just not me.

Went here with my brother for breakfast. This rating is for breakfast only. Good solid eggs, sausage, pancakes, hash browns and coffee. Inexpensive and good service. Could probably use a few more customers. Check it put for breakfast on a Sunday instead of waiting in line at Coco’s, carrots, or IHOP.

Its a small vintage diner. The food was excellent. I had asked for Pepsi my favorite but they only had coke but the owner had some for personal use and offfered me a glass of his. Now thats service. My husband loved the chilli spaghetti and pork chops and eggs were excellent. Great Food for great prices. Very quiet and family oriented. Enjoyed my dining experience. thumbs up to mr G’s

I have driven by this place a number of times and today I finally stepped in. I ordered a beefeater sandwich. It was a dollar or two less than everyone else. The sandwich arrived cooked perfectly but the beef was a bit too thick. As I bit into it chunks of beef came out with every bite. That’s not bad, just not what I prefer. The french fries were excellent. The ketchup came in a Heinz 57 bottle(Perfect!) but it poured out in a runny mess and water started to separate from the ketchup. It seemed like they watered it down or poured a ghetto brand into the bottle. That is way I gave this only 2 stars. I won’t be back.

My stars…(5=epic«best of»)(4=really tasty and want to go again and again)(3=good and will go back once in a while)(2=fair, might return for a visit if there was some glimmer of hope)(1=avoid at all costs) Go or No? No Tease: Local diner in Lomita that isn’t special enough Why I went: It came off a recommendation for things to do in Lomita from AAA Westways magazine. It was labeled as a local greasy spoon that had charm, etc. When: March 2013 Food: Typical diner breakfast of eggs, bacon, pancakes and hash browns. The coffee was decent. The eggs and the rest were fine. However, the biscuits and gravy were just awful. The biscuits were passable, but the gravy was about the worst I’ve ever had. Bland and watery. To be avoided at all costs. Service: Very good. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Hints/Final thoughts: I really wanted to like this place. It had some charm, but the food just wasn’t as good as some other diners. It looks like the kind of place that if you’ve been going for years, it holds a special place in one’s heart. However, given that this was our first experience… I just can’t see going back.
