I took my old Singer Sewing machine(1975) here to get repaired and inspected. I was told that it would not be ready for a month. About 2 hours later I received a phone call telling me that I needed a new bobbin case and that the repair would cost around $ 140. The woman said, «it sounds like it is time for a new machine». She said they were having a sale that weekend and maybe it would be a good time for me to purchase a new machine. I said no thanks and do not repair it. I will come and pick the machine up. Long story short. I took it somewhere else and it DIDNOT need a new bobbin case. It just needed a tune up. Cost was $ 75.

Such a great little shop! I’m a beginner sewer… well let’s say pre-beginner…and I got a secondhand machine from a friend. I thought I was just missing a foot, but when I went to attach it, it seemed like I was missing something else! I called The Sewing Room and asked what I was missing. They said it was probably the ankle(which makes total sense!) and said to bring in my machine so they could fit the right one. Good thing I did because the piece that held the ankle was a little crooked! The repairman was in that day and fixed it right I the spot… no charge! Now I have a go-to place when I need some sewing help :)

Repaired and tuned up my older sewing machine for $ 79.00. They did exactly what they said they would do, on time and on budget. Nice people to deal with.
