Double Dragon Chinese & Japanese Restaurant

Great food and great customer service. The fact that they deliver (and rather quickly) is also a plus. Personal favorite is the Mongolian beef. The portions are huge, if I order the large it’s enough for my husband and I. Call in advance for a pickup. Easy in, easy out.

I’ve driven by this restaurant tons of times. There was never anything to pull me in. Today I read some Unilocal reviews and thought I would try it for a carry out. The food was excellent. I’m glad they have the lunch specials even on the weekends. I had the Mongolian Beef lunch special which came with an egg roll and fried rice. This food was wonderful. We also ordered crab rangoon and the chicken on a stick. My family loved it.
Their menu is huge. Looking at the take out menu, one side is the Chinese menu and the other side is the Japanese menu. Next visit we will try the grilled Teriyaki off of the Japanese menu side.

I have been in a chinese food drought since I moved to Glen Ellyn… until now. This spot is 10 min away and totally worth the drive. The food is fantastic, the quality of meat is fabulous, and they’re always friendly.

For the last 4 years, I’ve ordered take-​out from here on Christmas Day. It’s become my new favorite tradition and I always look forward to it!
I’ve tried the sweet and sour chicken, Mongolian beef (my go-​to favorite), egg rolls, crab rangoon and BBQ pork fried rice. Every time without fail, the food has been super fresh, hot very flavorful. It is packaged up nicely in plastic containers and always comes with the signature fortune cookie. They also have lunch specials during the week, which offer a «medium» sized portion and an egg roll for under $ 10.
They have an online ordering system, where you can select the items, pay online and pick it up. I have done this every time, as I hate phone ordering. In the past, I lived about 3 miles away, ordered online and left right away to pick it up. There was not one time that I «beat» them, they always have the food packed up and ready for me when I arrive! This time I thought, I’m only about a mile away… certainly I will beat them today. Nope. They still had it ready and I even got a free 2016 calendar with a menu on it.
The restaurant inside is small and very quiet, the employees are super polite, friendly and efficient. There is a small bar also with a TV. I can’t rave enough about this place, it is seriously awesome all around and I definitely recommend it!

Excellent service, great food great price. They were very flexible with menu options if you want something more specialized. Highly recommend!

Just ordered take out for the first time from here. Ordered the cashew chicken combo for myself and the orange chicken combo for my husband. It was fantastic! Probably the best chinese I have had in a long time. I will for sure be going back here again.

This is my first visit to Double Dragon and I’m already planning my next visit! The atmosphere is very calming, the décor is very pretty, the staff is extremely attentive and nice, and the Crab Rangoon is awesome! I can’t wait to come back!

I went on a double date here, mostly because me and the man from the other couple have fond memories of playing Double Dragon on Nintendo as kids. The food didn’t disappoint! Whether it was sushi, a General Tso’s Chicken meal, a teriyaki chicken Dinner Box or fried rice, everyone loved their meal. We will definitely come back, and my friend and I are glad that this place is more than just a happy memories invoking name.

Food was awesome. Excellent customer service, so efficient and well-​mannered. The restaurant is cute too, so sitting in was worth it as opposed to doing take out.
I tried their California roll, shrimp with vegetables, and sesame chicken. I recommended them all

The place is pretty tasty (as with all chinese take-​outs). We had the Empress Shrimp, which I highly recommend.
However, the egg foo young had so much watery gravy. It was like eating soup.
Besides that, the service was great, and they even gave me a phone call to let me know that the order was ready to pick up.

OK I been here many times in the years living here. Now that LU Chinese food is moved we our stuck with this crap called food.
First anytime you don’t want an ingredient in the dish they will take it out, but not replace with same cost veggie like LU Chinese did for us.
The food here is not fresh at all .but the prices sure are. I gave it my last try and they failed big time. Pricing on there web site page are all wrong. Most of all the food was horrific. Good By Double Dragon your Fire is out!

My husband and I had been looking for a go-​to Chinese take-​out place for a while and some of the restaurants that are closest to us just weren’t cutting it — either too salty, too oniony, or not fresh tasting enough. Then we found Double Dragon. They have been consistently good.
My husband orders the sweet and sour chicken every time — and every time it is well made with all white chicken meat and not too much breading. We also enjoy their crab rangoons, though I would say these aren’t anything too special, just good. And as for me, I like to try a different dish every time. There are some that I’ve loved and some that are just okay, but I would chalk that up to preference rather than if the food was actually good or not.
We’ll continue to order from Double Dragon whenever the Chinese food craving hits!

The food here was decent and the wait time wasn’t horrible. Seemed like a typical Chinese restaurant to me.

So disappointed had the chicken with vegetables tasted like it came out of a can — ate two bites and walked away — too bad was really in the mood for good Chinese.

The food just keeps getting better and better every time I order from here. The food is top quality and is always fresh and hot, with great flavors.
I recommend people to try it once and they will be hooked.
There customer service is fantastic, they told me 45 min for a delivery but it arrived within 25 minutes.
I had previously ordered a great size catering prefer awhile back. The service was fantastic and they delivered it as promised at the time I wanted. The food was fabulous in a large quantity as a single served order.
Every time I go there to dine in with the wife and kids, the place is spotless with great service.

Looking a decent Chinese restaurant on our way to Yorktown and read the Unilocal reviews so we thought we would try it. We just shared some pan fried noodle, fried rice, and we each got an egg roll. The egg rolls were little too fishy for us. They were crisp and served hot and fresh just not what we liked. The chicken fried rice was delicious BIG pieces of chicken, large amount of egg which I we love! The pan friend noodles were crisp and hot! The restaurant is quiet and very clean! The atmosphere is very inviting. They offer fresh sushi but we didn’t have any. Menu is large and had something for everyone, they do have $ 6 lunch specials with fried rice an entrée and an egg roll. We will be back to try more.

A friend who is a regular patron invited to join him at the Double Dragon recently. The staff greeted us and called my friend by name as we were seated. On this warm night, I ordered a cooling mango smoothie. We ordered an appetizer of their staples which was filling. I ordered the Shrimp Cashew which was delicious and half was taken home in a box. The ambiance is soft, quiet and welcoming. The owners, wait staff and everyone are personable and very kind. The location was perfect for a quiet Saturday night with a friend.

This is probably one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve been to. The staff are so kind and very attentive.
When you first walk in, you’ll notice they’re very clean and vintage asian and classy décor. It’s appealing and did I mention CLEAN.
They have an extensive menu. Everything I have tried is great. And of course, I gotta brag about their beef chow fun. Every Chinese restaurant has their take on it but this one is BY FAR THE BEST BEEF CHOW FUN. The rice noodles are always cooked well and have a bit of a pan fried char that I love! And the beef… yuuummmmm. The beef is cooked so tender it literally melts in your mouth. Another dish that I love is their lemon chicken. It’s breaded chicken with a nice lemon glazed sauce served with streamed broccoli and rice. So so good! I also recommend their sweet and sour chicken and their fish and steamed veggies with white sauce. As I said earlier, GREAT food!
Also, give their fruit smoothies a go! Loved the watermelon smoothie.
Great place whether dining in or carrying out! No doubt one of my favorite little gems around Lombard!

This is my coworkers and my favorite Chinese lunch spot. We work in Lombard and it’s been difficult to find an amazing Chinese restaurant. When we finally stumbled across this place, we were so happy because the other places were only decent or just ok. They have an extensive menu and offer lunch specials. The service is friendly and relatively fast (sometimes they’re very busy between carry out orders and dine in). We honestly haven’t had anything we haven’t enjoyed. Also, they don’t give you a hard time about splitting the bill. Every time we’re craving Chinese, we don’t even have to think about it!
They are located in a plaza with ample parking.

I’m typically skeptical of Chinese restaurants that do not have Chinese writing in menu, but there are not a whole lot of options in the area. Needless to say, it being the Lunar (Chinese) New Year, and reading the positive reviews, I thought this place would do fine. I was not disappointed. We ordered carry out and picked up the Beef Chow Mein, Beef with Snow Peas, Pot Stickers, Chicken and Corn Egg Drop Soup, and 4 FREE Crab Rangoon (coupon on the menu cover). I’ve had a lot of good Chinese food growing up and this was not far from it. Great size portions, will be eating well for a few days. Small portions are fairly generous too. The workers were very nice, speak both Mandarin and Cantonese, something I appreciate. Looking forward to trying more! Smile when your order!
