Very good food at a reasonable price. Everything is very well seasoned. Highly recommend the chicken. Their other location is in Darien. Restaurant has been around for a while.

This is absolutely the best chicken ever! Wow! Just wow! It’s been about 15 years since I’ve been able to enjoy great juicy chicken. Flavor, flavor, flavor!!! Juicy, juicy, juicy!!!
We enjoyed the Texas toast, mash taters, baked beans, rice n’broccoli. We devoured every piece of chicken to the marrow. Lol.
I highly recommend Broosters chicken if your tired of Fried chicken come and take a gander and enjoy some great chicken at BROOSTERS CHICKEN!

The food is A-​OK top quality. The customer service is awesome. I think the prices are fair. I only get take-​out as a single diner. I love the garlic toast, the sides and the chicken and steak are perfectly cooked. The place is large and clean and good for families. I think I’m heading there today for a late lunch cause I am craving their food!

The food is always tasty. Bonus! It’s prepared fresh and quickly! Much healthier option than grabbing lunch at a fast food place. When I worked in the area I often introduced coworkers to the restaurant and they always appreciated discovering a new, affordable option for a quick lunch.

This is my favorite broosters restaurant and this broiled chicken hasn’t been duplicated so an easy 5 of 5. Between the spacious location, sweet interior, seating choices, tasty sides, inexpensive prices, and healthy chicken ill b coming back for a lifetime of awesome meals.

Good stake for a money and chicken the chicken is also good there they also have all you can eat chicken on Saturday and Sunday

Just about every vegan/​vegetarian/​ovopescetarian I’ve met — including myself — falls off the bandwagon at one time or another.
So, I’ve been contending with some serious meat cravings. Shameful? Maybe. Weak? Probably. Remorseful? Not yet.
I stopped in tonight and ordered the ½ Chicken Meal with chicken soup and a baked potato for my sides (comes with 1 slice of Texas toast). Total = less than $ 11.
The good:
+ Nice, quick service: I was in and out in 5 minutes.
+ Good portion sizes! I’m getting 2.5 meals out of this.
+ Nice crisp to much of the skin and juicy dark meat!
+ Every little detail was attended to: fork, knife, AND soup spoon. 2 packages of Saltines (the brand, no knockoffs here!). 2 containers of whipped butter. 1 generous packet of sour cream. Everything was foil-​covered and fit nicely inside the takeout box.
The «meh»:
— The chicken was obviously (re-​) heated, and the breast meat was dry. I hate to say it, but a $ 5 roasted grocery store chicken has juicer breast meat.
— I was expecting it to be herbier. I swearrrr they had a distinctive herby rub/​flavor before! The flavor was OK, but nothing that stood out.
I’d like to think that the dryness could be attributed to ordering after peak dining hours (i.e. 7:30 pm), so I’ll have to give them another try. Y’know, for wholly scientific reasons completely unrelated to chicken cravings.

The best chicken you’ll ever have ! The food is always hot and fresh. The owner and staff could not be nicer!

Always a great chicken meal for me and steak for my husband. The prices are so reasonable. And the atmosphere is funky and retro. Give it a try you’ll be glad you did.

Workers were nice. Food was über bland. I got the chicken burrito. The chicken had literally no flavor. The rice/​broccoli side was just as flavorless. I most certainly won’t be returning.

Love the chicken burrito with creamy parmesan!!! I have to admit, I will even get the kids grilled chicken strip meal as well because it comes with a side and garlic bread and a drink for $ 6. Very fair prices for some great food!!! I will pick broosters food over any other over priced place in the area.
I eat lunch here at least once-​twice a week. Super friendly staff.
Try this place! Plus they have all you can eat chicken on Saturday and sundays!

I’m so disappointed, I stopped here to get some food before heading back home to Schaumburg and I completely wasted my money and my time first the best thing was the garlic bread and that’s it. I love baked beans these beans lacked flavor they tasted like someone just poured them out of a VANCAMP can and added onions. Broosters please add some brown sugar, mustard, green peppers onions a little bit of sugar to your baked beans add barbecue sauce and bake them for about an hour. The broccoli rice was tasteless but it tasted like broccoli and rice I guess that’s what it should taste like. the ribs were completely flavorless, I smelled no char and no grill when it came to the ribs they tasted like they were boiled or baked in an oven and then thrown on a grill no flavor at all truly disappointed. The chicken had a little bit of flavor like it had been marinated but still no Char flavor and no grill flavor. I really don’t see myself trying this place again, I always like to give a restaurant to try and then that is it but I’m not sure so very disappointed this was a complete waste of $ 17.00 and I still have to go buy dinner :(

I grew up in Downers Grove and there was a Broosters in the area we use to get dinner from pretty often. I haven’t had it in over 10 years. I was so excited to be driving through Lombard looking for a place to eat and my husband was looking at Unilocal and mentioned there was a Broosters. He had no idea what it was, but I got super excited.
We were on a time crunch, so I was a little concerned with how long it would take. It was about 1 o’clock on a Saturday and we walked in with no line. We both ordered 2 piece chicken special. One dark meat and one white meat. We both got mashed potatoes as our side. They have RC which also brought back great childhood memories. Such a great deal for $ 5.99. This is way cheaper and I would like to think healthier then fast food would have been.
We both hit the bathroom, which were very clean. As soon as got out our food arrived. Insanely fast! The yellow gravy was everything I remembered it to be, rich and flavorful and totally different from other gravies you have had. The mashed potatoes soft and smooth. The chicken is very flavorful with the chargrilled flavor, juicy meat and crunchy skin. We both inhaled our food, leaving very full and satisfied and without a time crunch at all. I can’t wait to go back on my next visit in Chicago, so many other things on the menu look great, just don’t know if I’ll ever be able to pass up the mashed potatoes, chicken and gravy.

Was going to give a 4 star rating because chicken was really good, but not the best ever.
Sides were good. (rice & broccoli, and mashed potatoes), Texas toast was the best side there.
Reason for the 5 star is because I went back to the register to get 1 more piece of Texas garlic toast. (It was so good). The cashier gave it to me at no charge.
This saved me a mere $ 1.00, but the hospitality was so nice and authentic that I’ll be back for sure because of that.

Pretty surprised how good the steak was. I used a coupon and they were super nice about it which I really appreciate.

We enjoyed the sirloin steak and baked potatoes. I had the 8oz, my husband had the 12 oz which was huge. Didn’t care for the over seasoned green beans. Overall, It was ok, not great

I alway stop by once a month for their 2 steaks for $ 14.95 with local coupon. (Now up to $ 16.95 in 2015)
Comes with 2 sides and garlic toast.
Recommended for a very good steak for the cash!

So happy with this place! Great food. Happy service. I got a ½ slab for lunch, even the garlic bread taste great. It’s a little pricy for lunch but there is free wifi.

Broosters is one of those rare finds that would remain tucked away unless you did some wide-​eyed searching. I have to admit, even if I had seen the Lombard location, I don’t think I would have given it a try; its THAT inconspicuous. BUT, I’m seriously happy I did.
Even if you had decided to walk into the joint, I don’t think you’d feel like it was going to produce some b-​o-​m-​b chicken. Its appearance is THAT modest. BUT, the chicken is not.
I think the first thing you should do at Broosters is order the whole or half chicken… whatever you feel like you can put away. The flavor is absolutely amazing. Add that charbroiled essence to the mix to seal the deal. What we have in the end is an incredibly moist piece of chicken that hits the spot where it counts.
The mashed potato and coleslaw side dishes parallel that of KFC. Texas toast is included with everything! **They have this salsa thats hidden in a white container that you MUST use… it changes everything!!**
