18/8 Fine Men’s Salons – Lombard

It has been a very long time since I had been to a men’s salon that was as high a caliber as this one. Biloxi Ms, San Antonio Tx, St Louis Il, and the last time I’ve been to a place this good was in Albany NY. High quality cut, very relaxing, outstanding product recommendations, absolutely fantastic service. I don’t normally write reviews, however this place absolutely deserves all the kudos.

Definitely don’t recommend. Firstly, they refused to honor my groupon which they stated can only be used at the Glenview location. Secondly, their website states they offer pedicures, which is a lie because they said they don’t offer that service and also it’s technically False Advertising which I could sue for. Thirdly and worst of all, they overcharged me. I came in just wanting a haircut which they said would cost $ 35 for just a cut. Then they said because I’m a new customer, they were going to upgrade me to the Executive Haircut. So, I said fine. HOWEVER! What they failed to explain is that you still get charged the Executive Haircut at $ 40. So it was a cute little bait and switch scenario. Lastly, the haircut was very average considering the hype about this place. I could have easily gotten the same haircut at a variety of cheaper places and I will from now on. This was a terrible, terrible, terrible idea to go here. Never recommend ever.

Was looking for a new place since my move and just wanted to try it ou. Simply the best haircut I’ve ever had. Awesome place and having a cold craft beer while getting the cut didn’t hurt.

This place is great, Jillian did a fantastic job. I’ve had a lot of difficulty finding a good place for a haircut, finally found the right place. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth the price in my opinion (if you care about your hair)

Finally… a place for a modern man to get a haircut. This place is like no other salon /​barbershop. Definitely designed to cater to today’s successful man. Equipped with leather chairs, free beverages, very friendly staff and great services.
There is a changing room where you are given a special robe so you don’t leave with hair on your shirt. Normally, I would have to go directly home for a shower. No longer! I was able to go directly back to work.
Jillian was my stylist. She was very friendly and really new her stuff. She made some great recommendation. She washed my hair and then gave me a hand crafted haircut. ¹⁸⁄₈ stylist are specifically trained to use high end shears and clippers. Clipper guards are not allowed. You can definitely tell the difference between a hand crafted cut vs. clipper guard cut.
Left feeling like a new man!
When I got home my wife said that this was the best haircut that I ever had. She said that I am no longer «allowed» to go anywhere else to get a cut. Thanks Jillian!

Walked in and had the pleasure of getting my hair cut here. Crystal cut my hair and did a great job… the wife might give it up because the hair cut was so good!

I went to ¹⁸⁄₈ for a wax job on my back. Decided shaving wasn’t working anymore. I was a bit nervous because I’d never waxed the back before. The ladies at ¹⁸⁄₈ were awesome! Very knowledgeable and professional. Everyone made me feel at ease, and the wax went great. It doesn’t hurt as bad as I’d imagined.
The salon itself is very decorated/​styled really well. You know you’re in a much nicer spot than where guys normally go for cuts/​grooming. They have private, comfortable rooms for all services.
¹⁸⁄₈ also has a ton of cool products for hair, beards, etc.
I couldn’t be happier with my experience at ¹⁸⁄₈. Highly recommend for any manscaping procedure. Oh, and my back looks and feels amazing after my wax. I’ll be back for sure. Thanks!

This visit was a refreshing and relaxing alternative to Sports Clips and well worth the price! Individual attention in the hands of a talented stylist is the greatest. The neck, shoulder, and scalp massage with heated, scented towels was very welcome and relaxing. Found a great place, great haircut and I’ll certainly be back!
