While heading north from Indy, we stopped at France Park and we were glad we did! The park is beautiful and we plan to come back and camp. The first thing that we saw was the beautiful little waterfall, and then we hiked a bit. There are two large bodies of water and one of them(if not both?) is a old rock quarry. The water is crystal clear and pristine. There is an awesome zip line going across one of the bodies of water off of a cliff. It was very windy today so due to safety they couldn’t run it. The paths in the woods along the water were awesome. There are points where you’re probably 300 feet straight up a cliff. Awesome! You can also rent discs for disc golf and there’s a small, free putt putt course. Oh and, you can also either learn to scuba dive, or if you have a certification, you can go dive in the quarry and see all the cool stuff they have sunken and see the 6 foot long paddlefish!

We came to France Park for the first time today. We were hoping to do the zip line(which was the main reason that we came). Unfortunately, we were informed that they don’t have enough staff to keep it open. :( But we decided to stay for the trails and the clear water beach. I was very much impressed with the trails for this place. All trails were very well kept. Lawns were well groomed and they had a couple of nice waterfalls to check out. They even have a well kept frisbee golf field, a fishing lake(that is separate from the beach). Lots of private primitive camping and a modern camp ground. They only take cash. No checks or credit cards. The camp store also has a nice variety of ice cream. Yum yum. Trails are for hiking and some for biking. No ATVs allowed. The place is dog friendly, except for the beach. The beach was awesome, crystal clear water and you could see down to 5 – 6 feet. They do have scuba diving through Indy Scuba I believe. We for sure will be back. Spent the entire day and didn’t have enough time to do much of the trails.
