Eat Moore Cakes

We originally weren’t going to go with a cake for our wedding, but my [now] mother-​in-​law talked us into it last minute, 4 weeks before the wedding. We were trying to stick with all local vendors relative to our venue, the Patrick Haley Mansion, in Joliet. My fiancé found them and reached out to Trecia. I was excited to hear she does fake cakes for weddings. He mentioned how professional she was on the phone and how quick she was to respond call us back. She was also very quick and professional when I talked to her via email. I asked to change the color of the fondant for the fake wedding cake and flavors of the real cakes and she made the changes no problem, even though we were so close to the wedding. Prices were outstanding for a 4 tier cake (3 fake, 1 real) and 3 additional sheet cakes. The cake was beautiful. The color fondant I requested was a little off and the ribbon was different than we requested but I think it was still beautiful and tied into the vintage décor of the venue very well. She made one of the tiers real so we can have the cake cutting photo. We got lots of compliments on our cake flavors too — peach cobbler, dark chocolate raspberry, and lemon! Yum! Thanks, Trecia!

I have now ordered twice from Eat Moore Cakes and both times, the cupcakes and cookies were delicious. My first order was for a child’s 1^st birthday party. Cupcakes were decadent and extremely fresh. Guests were very excited to bring home extras. The second order was this past weekend for a birthday party. Both times I selected red velvet, vanilla and chocolate varieties. I have also tried the chocolate chips cookies and the pecan cookies. Both amazing. I have never had trouble ordering here. The first time, I made an appointment and came in for a tasting. The second time, I just emailed and received a prompt response. This is my go-​to bakery in my neighborhood. I already have a sampler platter on order for Thanksgiving dinner. Prices are hard to beat.

I tried to order cupcakes on their site and once I’d filled out the form and submitted it, the website redirected me to a survey taking website. I emailed them right after this happened, as I was unsure if my order went through. The owner emailed me back the next day and replied that they were looking into the issue and planned to rectify it, she also apologized and offered me a free dozen cupcakes with the design that I was looking for.
The cake was moist and delicious and the frosting was sweet and creamy, I really enjoyed them. I can’t wait to come back to try the other flavors, they’ve definitely secured a patron with me both with their outstanding customer service and delicious cakes. Thank you all!

I like the variety of flavors they offered, and prices are reasonable.

This place could not be more adorable. It’s a girly girls dream inside all pink and powder puffy and smells like heaven. Then from the back emerges as warm and friendly a person as I have ever met. But, wait, what’s missing? There are no cakes, no cookies, no treats of any kind to be seen. The shelves are all empty. Firstly because it is clearly stated that you need to pre-​order things on their site but also because everyone, including yours truly, had come in a last minute rush to use their Livingsocial vouchers (clearly stated there too).
But…but…but…there must be something back there you could sell me isn’t there? I certainly smell a most inviting aroma of cakeiferous deliciosity. I’m on my way to a gathering of hungry Browncoats and I’ve nothing to offer. They’ll turn reaver on me! Oh the humanity!
Oh, sorry, anyway the very nice lady whipped me up a batch of the most excellent sweet treats in two shakes of a lamb’s tail while I flipped through the very impressive pictures of their custom cakes.
So I came away with three different combinations. Just looking at them makes you smile. Completely adorable. The cake part of the cupcake was scrumptious. Very moist and light with actual vanilla and chocolate flavor. Imagine that! The luscious frostings were the real showstoppers however.
Please note that I am a serious chocoholic. Dark, milk, with or without nuts, bars, cakes, creams, dips, frozen, hot, room temperature and so on. I loves me some chocolate. So when I say I chose the strawberry cupcake over the perfectly yummy chocolate one it means something. It means that the strawberry frosting is divine. I’m writing this several weeks after the fact and can’t recall if the cake was also strawberry. The point is this — You NEED that strawberry frosting. I find myself craving it like a drug addict. Sadly (or luckily) I live an hour away. It is, however, on the way to my sister’s house so I can get a fix once a month or so. In fact I recently suggested me and my sisters combine our birthdays which are only a few days apart just so I could get something from here. It’s not wrong if I share, right?

I bought a Living Social deal to this place to get 24 cupcakes for $ 9. I ordered chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting and chocolate chips on top and strawberry cupcakes with chocolate frosting and strawberry glaze on top. The presentation was fanastic. The strawberry cupcakes each had a piece of candy on top. The cupcakes were very moist and the frosting was tasty.
They have some really cool looking cupcakes on their site. I would definitely order desserts from this place again.
