If you want cheap bread and pastry, this is your place! They didn’t have a great selection when we came here, probably not the best idea to come here on an afternoon on a weekend.

This place has been a hidden gem in Livonia for many years but recently it seems to be going down hill. It is still a great place to find a bargain for bread. It is not all day old things, as you can buy fresh products at a discount over the grocery stores. I find that the day old products still seem very fresh. My biggest disappointment is the selection of dessert items. Back in the day, there was always a large variety of cakes and coffee cakes, even strudels. Recently it seems like the variety of cakes has also been limited. Apparently changes in ownership have limited the availability/​selection of dessert products, although the bread/​buns selection is great. They do sell snack size cakes, like the kind you put in a kid’s lunch box. Strudel has been gone for years now. It seems like they are making mostly packaged donuts. Summing up, it is a safe bet to shop for bread, and buns here, but if you are coming here for a cake, know that it is not a sure thing. They also sell bagels and Thomas’ English muffins. It is also a good place to find Better Made chips at a good price. The employees have always been friendly.
Note that they have recently started closing on Sundays, although I was told this is just until Spring.

Cheap! For prepackaged junk food Entenmann’s fills a niche, slightly loftier than Little Debbie or Hostess. Spendier, but not here.
I love the chocolate doughnuts or mini bites muffins in a pinch, my parents are devotees of the cheese filled crumb coffee cake. My husband likes anything he can get his hot mitts on. I have also used a pound cake or two to fudge a shortcake creation, either the all butter or sour cream versions work nicely.
This kind of stuff just makes my husband very happy indeed, it’s easy to throw into his lunchbox. Items are hit or miss availability and freshness wise (check dates) but you will not spend much to find out.

This little outlet store is fantastic! I don’t eat a lot of sweets, but this store also carries Brownberry breads at very low prices. Of course, there’s plenty of the sweet stuff, too…

This is one of the best kept secrets of Livonia. This store is kind of camouflaged as part of a large factory-​like building, hence it’s relative obscurity. But the food here is so cheap and very delectable. I love their mini-​pies and cinnamon rolls!
