Roadrunner Transportation Systems

Roadrunner shipped some new vanities from Decorplanet where we purchased them online. They had damaged one of the vanity bases with a forklift and instead of notifying Decorplanet and fixing it, they repacked the pallet being careful to hide the damage on the innermost box and then wrapped it all in plastic wrap. We inspected the shipment when it came and saw no damage to the exterior of the shipment and signed off on it. It wasn’t until four months later when we were finally ready to install the new vanities (our tile installer was slow) that we noticed they had hidden the damaged vanity. When we notified Decorplanet they tried to work with Roadrunner and said it was too late to file a claim.

Worst possible service. A delivery for a client sat at their facility for a month. Promised a delivery date which never happened. When driver was out to deliver (finally), he didn’t know how to use the intercom system at the door and he drove away. Contacting dispatch is a futile exercise.

Roadrunner is a nationwide company which has no respect to their customers.
Maybe they think they are too big to fail.
Our company lost over $ 2,000.00 worth of products by failing of their delivery and we did not hear from them over 4 months after submitting the claim as they instructed.
Numerous contacts were made with no response.
This company is non American with no respect.
They do not care and they are on the road with no law biding.
Do not use them if you can. Use UPS or Fedex who cares their customers.

Ordered a product through Amazon with Free shipping. Freight company their vendor used was RoadRunner and when they called to schedule the delivery they said they would pull up in from of my house but would not remove the item from the truck unless I paid them $ 20. I’m not talking about them wheeling it to my house or anything. They said they’d just open the truck and I’d have to get it out myself. It’s 179 pounds, large and unwieldy. I expecting them to leave on the sidewalk and I’d open the box and carry the parts into the house but now I’m stuck. THEY SUCK!

Wish there was a zero or negative star option — These guys are so bad — when you contract with them to take a delivery somewhere, it ends up in limbo and they call you after the fact with ‘extra delivery fees’ to actually make the delivery. This is so wrong — they should not be in business.

I had a large crate shipped from Pennsylvania to California and picked it up at their distribution center as it was more economical. Unfortunately, the crate didn’t fit in my SUV. Two of their staff helped me unpack the crate and load it into my car. This was no easy task. They definitely didn’t have to help me, but it was great appreciated! Excellent customer service.

We purchased a bathroom vanity from a company in New Jersey. Roadrunner is the company they hired to transport the vanity to us in Santa Cruz, CA. It took two weeks to get here, which is 5 days longer than Roadrunner originally indicated. We were to receive a call to schedule delivery. We were never called. By coincidence, someone was home when they arrived. The box the vanity was delivered in had several big holes punched in it and the vanity itself was trashed. The marble top was broken into many pieces and the cabinet was badly damaged as well. The seller has promised to ship another vanity and will use a different carrier this time. This was such a waste of time and resources and reflects a real lack of professionalism. Based upon this experience I would not recommend using this company for shipping.

We hired Roadrunner to transport my car from Austin to Berkeley — they were a day late picking up the car but on time dropping it off. That’s fine. The issue came after we received the vehicle. The exhaust has been pulled out and damaged and made a terrible rattling sound. We called them to report the damages.
First we called Roadrunner, which did not return our phone call. Then we called the company with whom RR subcontracted the transportation, Kotermak. I cannot explain to you how incredibly rude they were. The guy laughed at me, told me I was ridiculous, and that my claim was not serious because — and get this — my car already had a damaged sideview mirror. What that has to do with the exhaust is beyond me. Then I called RR again and explained to them how rude the driver was, that the fact they had not got back to me was unacceptable, and that I deserved to speak with someone in their damage claims office. She, Nicole, finally calls my dad (who was on the phone) and leaves a message saying that the contract says they are not at all liable for any damages. Why they have a damage claims person is strange since it seems like their only response is «not our problem.»
I then read the reviews here and realized how fortunate I was that this was the only issue I experienced. So they damaged my car for a few hundred dollars worth but at least I got my car in a timely manner — unlike a lot of other people here with their deliveries. I have perused the internet and found much, much better services for car transportation. Find someone else and make sure they have a good reputation for getting things to their destinations undamaged.

When I looked at the reviews for this company, I was very worried about if or when I would receive my dining table. I called their customer service to be sure that it would arrive on time, and the man I talked to was very friendly and told me I would. I received a call later to schedule a drop off time before the projected delivery date! I received the item earlier than expected and it was not damaged. The driver was also nice enough to help me take the package into my house even though I only paid for curbside delivery. I’m glad everything worked out and will use them again!

Zero isn’t an option for stars. Worst in customer service by far. I’m an interior designer, and after almost 2 months of not receiving goods, we finally tracked them here, at the Hell Mouth. After fighting all day about storage fees we never should have accrued, my trucking team shows up and they won’t release goods because they don’t believe they are my trucking team — EVEN with the owner of my receiving on the phone giving them all the information about the drivers, I couldn’t get my products — which I’ve paid for.
NEVER use this company. EVER — if you want items you paid for.

Roadrunner was the company the shipper of my product chose to use. When I called to confirm the drop off for my product they informed me that it was to be delivered by the door and there would only be one driver the truck, so he would need help unloading the product off the truck. I arranged to have two of us there to get it off the truck. I was also told we needed additional help because the truck would NOT have a lift on it. Okay, no problem. The driver shows up today with the truck by himself as planned and informs me that we need to take it off the truck. I asked «wouldn’t it be easier if we used the lift on the truck» to get it lowered. He then informs me that if we use the lift, THE VERY LIFT THAT IS ALREADY ATTACHED TO THIS «MOVING TRUCK», and originally wasn’t supposed to be coming with; there would be an additional charge.
This made no sense to me at all considering the lift was on the truck, but he went on to explain to me how he would «get in a lot of trouble» if he used the lift. He also explained that the company that originally sent the product would get charged for additional services. I’m not blaming the driver, he was only doing his job. He did help us get it off the truck, but sadly enough, I didn’t feel the need to offer him a tip since I was originally told he would be helping get it off the truck to begin with.
In the end, this left a very bad taste in my mouth about the business practices of this organization. When a shipping company that has a truck with a lift on it tries to charge you more for the ease of getting a product of their truck, that’s shady. When it prevents its employees and their customers from removing products safely when there is a device in place to do so, that’s shady.

Since 0 stars is not possible. Dealing with this company is a nightmare. My parcel sat in a warehouse for 8 days before being moved. Every time you call the phone just rings. On the rare occasion someone answers you get a different explanation from every person you talk to. No one wants to help. They sub shipments out to other truckers and good luck finding out where your package is. Their PRO # tracking system is worse than the airlines baggage tracking system. Terrible attitudes on the phone with the customer service people (they’ve actually answered the phone with «yeah»). Absolutely horrible and stressful time getting my parcel moved. Use FedEx or UPS freight.

Road runner transportation is a joke! My Engine was supposed to be delivered on July 1, 2015 and now I’m being told that my delivery will not be delivered until Monday, July 6, 2015 this is due to a driver taking my package from Seattle where it needed to be delivered to Idaho and then Wenatchee they took it out of state when it was in the same state 20 minutes from its destination and added two additional states that it went through. I am very disappointed in the service I should’ve used a UPS or FedEx in. If you want your packages on time I would not go through the service

Wish I could give zero stars. They claim they are forward-​thinking, pro-​active, and offer supply chain management solutions. The more accurate business description would be: We send your shipment to the wrong address, then lose track of everything and don’t let you speak to supervisors. We also don’t talk to our drivers, so forget about a call before delivery! Horrible excuse for a business — steer clear or you’ll be very sorry!!!

We had no problem with this company for a while but when they mess up they are very defensive and drag their feet. We will not be using their services again. And FYI claims can take between 60 – 120 days to resolve. Very disappointing.

One star is to many. This trucking company Sumner branch tried to get more money from me after I had paid for curbside drop. They held my product for a extra week trying to get another 89 dollars from me and they were rude about it. It was like they were begging me for more money. Seems like they know you spent a lot of money they get it close to your house then ask for more money. It’s like extortion. Before they pick up a product for delivery they need to work out the details. This is a different world everyone is ordering online and they need to get with the program if they want more business.
I must say the truck driver was more than a five star its to bad the dispatchers had no customer service.

We’ve used this company a hand full of times and nearly every time we’ve had problems. They’ve damaged shipments numerous times and then use deceitful tactics to get unsuspecting receivers to sign off on packages to avoid liability. They recently «lost» a $ 30,000 shipment and lied to us for nearly 20 days regarding the status of our shipment. This company uses many smaller trucking companies to move shipments around. Due to the fact the shipments are moved through so many hands apparently (judging by other reviews and my own experience) damage & loss is pretty common. All this in addition to being constantly late. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY PERIOD!!!

This is the single worst carrier your can hire to make a delivery. A very sleazy business, I’m surprised their executive team is not in jail. Once in a while everything will be fine, but frequently they will damage items and try to hide it, they will trick the end user into accepting the item so as to avoid responsibility, and if a damage claim is attempted they will stonewall and string you along and try to drag it out for 6 months or longer, hoping to just wear you down.
Roadrunner si the worst. Do not hire them and ask any vendor you do busyness with not to hire them. Bad news!

In November I placed an order online with
for two bathroom sinks, and p-​traps. Faucetline used the nationwide shipping firm Roadrunner to ship the sinks from the Eastern U.S. to me in California. The shipper (Roadrunner) «attempted» to make a delivery to my house while my general contractor was on site, but the shipping driver did not complete the delivery, claiming that there was no one there to take receipt of the items. I was on the telephone around the time of the attempted delivery and the contractor was speaking to me *from my house*.
A Roadrunner representative called me approximately a hour later, and when I explained the situation, and how my general contractor was on site during the delivery window, after which I was informed by the rep. «not according to the driver».
I had to wait several weeks for Roadrunner to contact me again about re-​delivery. When they finally did, I again alerted my contractor (as I had the first occasion), and we made sure to have a representative at the house to take delivery of the sinks.
Last week the sinks were delivered, but one of the boxes appeared to be damaged. The driver unloaded several boxes and stacked them on top of each other despite no less than 4 bright orange stickers indicating that the contents were fragile and were not have been stacked on each other. How do I know this to be true? My representative took pictures documenting the delivery.
For the next step of this story, my representative is at fault. He signed for the delivery despite noting that it appeared to have been improperly stacked and may have had some damage.
When I arrived at the house later and opened the packing to inspect the contents, one of the two sinks had been cracked completely in half. As I see it, some of the blame resides with my representative for not more carefully inspecting the delivery contents.
However, this culpability does not change the way in which I was treated by both representatives of both the shipper, as well as the retailer. When I called Roadrunner, they indicated that they would take no responsibility and that I needed to follow-​up with Faucetline. When I spoke to the rep. at Faucetline, he informed me that he would accept no responsibility for the sink, or delivery.
The bottom line: caveat emptor! Lesson learned, based on the customer service, and lack of willingness to take some responsibility for a damaged delivery, I have no desire to do business with either Roadrunner Transportation Services, or

Are zero-​star reviews allowed? That’s too bad.
My wife and 6-​week-​old baby were home to accept a single-​palette shipment. The delivery driver was exceptionally rude to my wife and then refused to deliver the palette into the garage and instead, placed it in the driveway, 5 feet away. My wife then had to drag the palette, box-​by-​box into the garage because the delivery driver refused to place it an additional 5 feet farther. If I had spoken to my wife when the driver was there, I would have refused the shipment altogether and have advise the shipper to remove RR from they vendors list.
Shippers need to understand that they have control over the vendors they use and these vendors are a reflection of their company. Please avoid RR and choose a company who is professional, courteous and has competence at more than just operating a rental truck and a clipboard.
