Wanted to try a new tea place after discovering Quickly. I got almond milk tea and my sister got a green apple smoothie. Mine drink tasted like flowers and my sisters drink had no flavor at all. I also ordered egg rolls because someone wrote that they were good, worst egg rolls I had ever had. I literally wasn’t feeling well all day. The egg rolls were all mushy inside. It was gross. I talked to some of my friends about that place and they all told me it was bad too. One friend said she has tried to like it there but it’s just not good. I will never go back to this place again.

This is my new Boba place, the other one in town was too noisy and not as friendly. The woman who works here has helped me all the times I have come in and I don’t come in around lunch because i think being so close to the school it would be very crowded. It’s spacious and has plenty of seats/tables and it is also clean and not sticky. Plenty of parking, its not too easy to find since most people come into this area on the Stanley Side. I have ordered the Ice cream milk boba(slightly sweet flavor), the Cantaloupe slushie is a good one but my absolute favorite is the Avcocado Slushie with tapioca… YUM! Popcorn chicken is made to order and plentiful — spicy is too spicy for my taste but I have eaten the whole thing anyways. Ha ha

Pretty good overall. Came here on a weekday mid day so it was quiet. Shop looks cute, good parking. Ordered a mango shave ice w boba and a green tea one with red bean. It was simple. Small was a bit small, cost around $ 3.99. Overall, both were not bad for a shop in Livermore. If I’m in the area again I would come back and try out their boba tea.

Totally forgot to take a picture of my drink beforehand, but it was that good. Ordered a red bean milk tea with boba, quick service, friendly workers, and the place looked clean and cute!

One of the best milk tea place I have had in the Bay Area. Both their regular bubble milk tea and jasmine milk tea are yummy. Tapioca are fresh and chewy and unsweetened, I love it! Their smoothie are made of fresh fruit and also very yummy, better than places like T4 and ShareTea. Highly recommended to anyone that loves real authentic milk tea

Love this place! The owner is the sweetest person ever! My favorite is the coconut smoothie. Perfectly made always. The place is always clean and everyone is super friendly.

Small boba place in the area — there are not many«good» boba places in the Tri-Valley area — though more and more seem to be popping up! Our group decided to stop for boba after we went wine tasting in the area, needed some refreshing drinks! PARKING: Plenty! Located in a giant shopping mall plaza, take your pick! SEATING: Some seating indoors & outdoors. When we arrived, there were a bunch of parents and their kids sitting in all the tables/chairs indoors. The parents occupied two tables while the children occupied the other tables whilst watching TV. Two tables located outside as well as two benches. DRINKS: Delish! I love milk tea when it has that strong«tea» flavor and this place definitely had that. The grass jelly I always get with my drinks was also nice and soft! Sometimes grass jelly can be hard(bleh). Would def come back for drinks again in the area! WAITTIME: Given there was only one person making drinks(assuming she’s the owner), wait time wasn’t too bad. FOOD: Didn’t get to try any food this time around, but there are so many options! You have your typical popcorn chicken, but there were also belgian waffles, etc. Yum!

The avocado smoothie is made with real avocado, their tapioca balls are always warm and freshly made. The last time I went I had the Taro smoothie which was also great. I highly recommend their snow ice.

Absolutely, love this place! The owners are super friendly/nice! Came back the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th… time and she remembers what we order! The taro smoothie is on point! Definitely, our favorite drink on the menu! Very clean place!

first time here-I had the lunch special which was a regular sized tea + hot snack for 5.99. I had the grapefruit green tea which I didn’t like very much b/c it tasted like syrup .I’ve been too spoiled with fresh squeezed grapefruit with pulp in there from other boba shops! and the lobster balls were not what I expected. it was like imitation seafood, tasted nothing like lobster. then again I don’t know why I chose lobster balls. oh and I went into the restroom and there was pee all over the floor! It was just not my day to be there.

Seriously good milk tea and amazing tapioca. I really love bubble tea and have had it all over the U. S as well as in China(although not in Taiwan where, granted, it did originate from…) So I think I have a pretty good basis of comparison to rank this a 5 star bubble tea place. :) In particular, the key to good tapioca is freshness, and Fat Straw makes it often enough to always keep it chewy and delicious. Their snacks are also fabulous. I recently had their friend octopus and it was very well seasoned and not too greasy. Highly recommended for all your tea and bubble tea needs in Livermore!

Fat Straw is your typical after school hangout spot where you grab boba & chicken & chill with your friends as you enjoy a sunny afternoon! Once you walk in, you get a very cool atmosphere & it’s very modernized too! It’s very spacious with a few tables. There’s also a couch, ceiling fans & a TV. The cashier was very friendly! The menu ranged from all sorts of snacks & drinks. Smoothies, teas, milk teas, ice cream, snacks, Belgian waffles! Mmmm. Milk Tea: pretty good! Milk wasn’t overwhelming. Popcorn chicken: definitely yummy! You can also choose your level of spiciness. Overall, a good experience! Definitely wanna come back to try the Belgian Waffles! The pictures looked good! Loyalty card: purchase 8 drinks & get 1 free!

Just came here with my boyfriend. He got bubble milk tea and I got green apple tea, and we tried each other’s drinks. I have to say, the drinks have a lot more tea flavor than Quickly. Personally, I like it. The girl who took our orders was very nice and we got them super fast. Also, the prices are really good for what you get. The only not great thing was that a lot of the straws had been squished, so the bobba got stuck in both of our straws a lot. Also, the location isn’t great. But what can you do? It’s life. I can’t wait to come back to try the food!

Slightly disappointed tried it out for the first time because quickly was closed, their peach milk tea was way different than theirs since it a completely different place I wouldn’t have minded as much but mine actually lacked the milk part of it. If that wasn’t enough the girl taking my order and making it had a terrible attitude, very bad first impression all together, Quickly will definitely always have my business since it the only other bobba place in town.

I tried this one day when Quickly was closed, and found that this store is trying to be waaaaaay to many different things at the same time. –Drinks, food, ice-cream, candy, charms, trinkets, glass ornaments. Their drinks are alright, I just feel they are a bit watered down. I wish they would put more Tapioca in their drinks, I already finish it off after about a third of the way through the drink. They are also a bit more expensive.

Fat Straw Café is a typical boba shop in that they sell bobas, teas, waffles, hot snacks, shaved ice, milk teas, slush, belgian waffles, & smoothies. the difference is the cute ambience and the ample seating drink: taro milk tea(2.75)sm. –neither taro nor tea tasted –very sweet, little ice, taro probably powder or syrup 2ish stars. wouldn’t reorder boba tea. drips: –fast, friendly service.

I’ve been here several more times now and I have decided to give Fat Straw another star. I thought the jasmine tea base was interesting but black tea has always been my favorite, and now that I’ve tried their taro with a brown tea base I can easily say that it is superior to all the other boba places I have been to thus far. Their food is also really good. The deep fried tofu was great and today I had the deep fried octopus – SOGOOD. The portion size of the octopus is a lot smaller than the tofu(which is more meal sized) but since I had Vietnamese for dinner, the octo was the perfect size for an after dinner snack. Also, the staff is so friendly. The girl behind the register remembered me and how I like my tea! I love that all the food is made in-house so they can actually tell me what’s in the food, too. A lot chains have their food distributed to them pre-made from outside suppliers and have no idea. Not here! It’s offish. Fat Straw is better than Quickly’s. Why haven’t you gone here yet? GONOW! ^__^

Came here today for the first time! I was super stoked that Livermore finally had another bubble tea place open, because you can never go wrong with bubble tea. My friend and I walked in, and immediately marveled at how immaculate, yet cute the place is! The gentleman taking our orders was really nice and complied with our request for light ice, since we decided to share a large bubble tea. It’s pretty huge! So my recommendation is that if you’re not particularly hungry, you’d be better off getting a small, because even then, you are getting quite a bit of tea! They are generous with proportions, and the prices are fair. I would definitely say this is my go-to bubble tea place in the area. It’s definitely better than Quicklys. :-) Can’t wait to try other flavors, although I can certainly tell you TARO is always a great pick.
