I have known Cindy Gustafson, the owner of Comfort Keepers in the Livermore/​Oakland/​Berkeley area, for several years. Cindy is a trusted professional that I am happy to refer families to when they desire one-​on-​one care for their loved one. Cindy and her team have provided services to residents at Lakeside Park on several occasions. Cindy cares for the resident as well as supports the families in this journey. Cindy’s provides extensive dementia care training for her staff. She matches the caregiver to the client for a best fit. She is quick to jump in whenever needed and can be counted on with very short notice when necessary. She is one of the very best in the business and you can tell she has a passion for what she does.

She’s very knowledgable, approachable, and a great listener. What I like most about Cindy’s approach is that she cares about whole wellness. I’ve been working with Comfort Keepers for a little more than a month now. Cindy Gustafson and Janelle Monsanto have done a fantastic job working hard to find just the right person to provide my Dad with companion care. My Dad moved to an assisted living residence in Brentwood about a year ago and has Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). Within a month or so after moving in, my Mom passed away. With all the huge life changes my Dad is going through, he’s become very depressed and struggles with daily life. He used to be very social; however, he is experiencing increasing difficulty with his communication skills, which has caused him to withdraw from people and activities. I met Cindy at Westmont’s monthly Dementia support group and decided to try Comfort Keepers to provide companion care a few days a week for my Dad. Cindy and Janelle have been supportive and caring with my situation. Finding the right caregiver is a process and I appreciate their understanding, patience and flexibility.
