The food is Good. But some of the workers are rude and don’t take time to listen. They also take a while to service us.

Pretty good dang Mexican grub here at reasonable prices. I think this is heads and tails better than the ‘Big’ Mexican restaurant up the road in Gridley and down the road in Yuba City. In fact, I would say this is the best Mexican restaurant in the Yuba City area at least. I havent been to all of them I’m sure, but so far… My wife even got a shot of tequila when I asked why her margarita was so weak at no extra charge. Also worth mentioning; the waitress this last time was very good and brought tons of salsa and kept the chip bowl full at all times, even during dinner.

Our family of 6 ordered a variety from their menu: 1. Super burrito-consists of rice, beans, chicken, pork, and beef 2. Chile verde chimichanga(they were out of carnitas) …pork was dry and bland 3. 2 orders of steak ranchero… Omg this is one of the reasons for my 2 star rating. $ 15 each and al we got was a huge platter of onions & bell peppers in tomato sauce. The entire dinner we spent picking through looking for the beef in this steak dish. The sauce was tasty, however what little beef we could find were such small pieces(smaller than my pinky tip no exaggeration). I have never seen steak ranchero like this before. 4. The special– 2 enchiladas 5. Tamales, enchilada, and chile relleño combo… worse tamale we’ve had. Picture a 2″ diameter tamale and of that, 1 ¾″ was all masa! Staff was busy, probably due to Graduation night. This is a good place to stop at if you’re passing through and don’t want to eat fast food for for the value, you get a better meal for better value at fast food. If I’m going to spend $ 15 for a specialty dinner I expect more than bell peppers/onions as my entrée. Half of us left with more than half food left on our plates.

I went to this restaurant earlier. It was very good to say the least. The chicken burrito I ordered was good yet small. I think the difference with this kind of Mexican restaurant is that it doesn’t serve in huge portions, which is very much similar to what you’d have at any typical restaurant in Mexico. I will point out that some of the negative reviews here are a bit snobby and missing the mark. «I’ve had better food at Taco Bell?» First off, Taco Bell isn’t really Mexican food. This is real Mexican food.

Betty’s has been in Live oak for years! Betty’s is what I consider a hit and miss type of restaurant. Some days I’m like dang that was bomband some days I’m like what the heck was that my stomach hurts. Yea you get the picture but the only reason I put it as a 4is because lately the food has been on point with no regrets. So consider eating here if your in the mood for a sit down Relaxed atmosphere with some descent grub. Good luck amigos!

Upon entering the entire place didn’t smell too enticing but the parking lot is usually full so we decided to go on in. Kinda dark and dusty but the young woman who seated us was very sweet. Chips and salsa was good, so I’m thinking it’s going to be at least edible. Wrong!!! If you’re on a diet this is the place to go. I took one bite of each item on my plate and that’s all I could stomach. I do not understand how this establishment stays in business. The food didn’t even look appetizing let alone taste like human food. Very very disappointed since there’s not too many options in this area.

Betty’s has great service and good food. If you are a salt-a-holic, you will have to salt your food, but it was still amazing food. The flour tortilla chips were a little piece of heaven. Delicious! The location is old, but they have adorable decorations and a great atmosphere.

I am a Mexican food lover, but I wasn’t impressed. My fiancé wasn’t crazy about it either. The salsa wasn’t too bad, but the meals we got just didn’t taste as well as other places. It’s a little dingy too. The seats are worn and floors were dirty. The staff was nice. We were the only clients twice and it took a while for the food to be made. I would go back, just not my personal favorite.

If you are from out of town don’t bother. Extremely slow unattentive service supposedly due to a large group, but two tables who arrived after us were served before us. The food was mediocre to put it nicely. «Authentic Mexican food» would not include hard cold rice, dry enchiladas, or obviously canned ‘ranch style’ beans. Don’t waste your hard earned money.

People should know not to use Betty’s for groups. Otherwise, it is a good place to eat. They are inconsistent and unfair when it comes to groups. Lookoutfor surprise/hidden costs that will make the total bill overpriced.

Not the worst mexican I’ve ever had, but I wouldn’t use the word«authentic» in the title either, my grandmother would slap me if I did. Its dark, I prefer much more light when I’m dinning. Their building doesn’t allow for natural sunlight to come in either which kind of bothers me. It makes me feel like I’m in a mexican bomb shelter. The food isn’t bad, but it always tastes like it could be better, as if its missing something and I can’t put my finger on what it is. The rice needs more flavor and the beans seem watered down. I can’t really complain about the salsa. I like it, and they have a spicier one too, but you have to ask for it. They have a ridiculous extra fee for guacamole. On some meals, my feeling is that it should just be standard.

After reviewing all of the 4-star Unilocal reviews me and my girlfriend decided to stop at Betty’s for what we were reading as great mexican food-NOT!!! My girlfriend is of Mexican decent and knows how to make her own homemade tortillas as well as her homemade salsa’s and sauces. I am here to tell you that the food at Betty’s is pretty bland and comes nowhere near to what good mexican food is. The service was poor as well we were never asked as to how the food was or if we needed anything after the food was brought out ot us. We needed more salsa and water and a refill on the ice-tea…too bad sooo sad! It was a horrible experience and will not telling our friends about this place. Anyone that thought this was good food needs to know what good mexican food is and stop writing good reviews if they don’t know what they are talking about!!!

It is pretty amazing to find a truly authentic Mexican restaurant this far north of the border or not in the southwest. There was 5 of us and all dishes were very good. The Carnitas were excellent and I had a huevos ranchero that was unusually good. The meat was so tender and very tasty with a dabble of nice spicy brown sauce. The flour tortillas were some of the best and the chips and salsa were excellent. This place I’m told is very popular and folks travel from miles around just to come here to eat and I can see why. A very nice gem located in a very small farming community. Diners Dives & Drive-In Guy Fiery would definitely like this one.

I moved to Gridley nearly two years ago and drive by Betty’s on a regular basis, always saying to myself that I should try it out one of these days. The day finally came. I was headed home but craving chile rellenos so I pulled into Bettys to give them a try. It was mid-week and a bit late so there were just a few other diners in the place. I was quickly seated and received the complementary chips and salsa fresca. I ordered a combo plate including the rellenos I wanted so badly. Within minutes my server returned to tell me that they were out of rellenos. Just my luck! I selected a taco instead of the rellenos, along with a tamale and enchilada. While waiting for my food I was approached several times to make sure I had enough chips, salsa and soda. Every time an employee passed by they looked to be sure I was okay. The staff didn’t disturb me but I certainly felt well attended to. My dinner was delivered quickly and was well presented. The enchilada sauce is ‘different’ and took some getting used to for me. The other items were quite good although the taco got a bit soggy by the time I got to it. For me the biggest draw to Betty’s will be the service. It didn’t matter who my server was or whose area I was sitting in. Everyone working here seemed to really care about me as a customer. They took good care of me without being pushy or disruptive. Absolutely superb!
