Come on baby light my fire! I was having trouble with my gas fireplace, it would light and then go out, light then go out… you get the idea, so I called Quinlan on the recommendation of my home inspector(who is also a family friend). Here is where Quinlan gets points: — They returned my call within 24 hours — Due to the fact that they were booked solid for two months, they gave me a small discount for my patience — The woman that scheduled my appointment was very friendly Here is where Quinlan loses points: — No one called to confirm my appointment before they came over — They lost my phone number since I had booked so far out in advance — The gentleman who came to work on my fireplace was 35 minutes late because he got lost and couldn’t call me to get directions since they didn’t have my phone number — After the woman at the office finally dug through files and located my number, he called to let me know he was on his way, not to see if I needed to reschedule But, here is where they gain points back: — The guy working on my fireplace, Blaine, was very friendly and extremely helpful, he showed me some new things about my fireplace that I wish I would have known sooner — He was able to get the work done within an hour and a half, still giving me time to get to a meeting I am not sure what other fireplace inspectors charge, but I do feel that I was a bit overcharged. This is perhaps due to the fact that no one gave me any information on additional costs like rewiring– however this could very well be my fault for not doing my homework before writing the check. All in all, I would call them again if I have a fireplace problem, probably because I don’t know who else to call, however, should that happen, I would also be a bit upset that they didn’t fix it the first time.
