Great chicken curry and if you add the«$ 3.00,» extra chicken it’s about 3 meals worth!

Follow-up April 2009: The honeymoon is over. I’ve been here twice since writing the review posted below. The first time, they overdid the sauce to the point where the food was drowning in it. The second time last week), the food was average and the service was below average. Everytime I put my chopsticks down to take a breather, the waitress asked if I wanted a box. The place was far from crowded so there was no excuse for her constant pestering. The soup at every visit remains lukewarm and always has to be sent back to the kitchen to heat up. I’ll still go to this restaurant, but it’ll no longer be my first choice. — — — — — — — — — — — - I was prepared to dislike this restaurant because I’ve been searching for decent Chinese food in the Denver area for several decades, yes decades and have always been disappointed. This is a restaurant that I will visit again! The décor wasn’t obnoxious and the wait staff was professional and tended to our needs on a regular basis without suffocating us. I had the won ton soup, which had to be returned to the kitchen twice because it wasn’t hot. But it was very tasty. That was my only complaint about the restaurant and the meal. The menu was extensive(with a dozen or so soups alone!) but we ordered our standbys — in my case, sesame beef and sesame shrimp for my friend. The meals came with rice(steamed or fried). The portions were absolutely huge(we both took home doggie bags) and the food was fresh. I had never tasted sesame shrimp before and it was a very very pleasant surprise. Because we told the wait staff this was our first visit, they gave us dessert at no charge. We each had half a fresh orange, a fortune cookie and an almond cookie. We walked out, each with a bill of less than $ 15.

This place is now called«Asian Chef’s Chinese». The food was pretty average. The wonton soup was really good and came with fried wontons on the side for you to add to your liking. My Cashew Shrimp was good, very hearty, didn’t really even need the white rice on the side. The restaurant itself was really nice, nicely decorated, modern furniture, very cool little bar area(although I didn’t see anyone sitting at the bar). Although every person who worked there was Asian, I didn’t see a single asian patron. So, maybe they’re not such an authentic place. But, the food was pretty good, the price was fairly reasonable(my soup & entrée were under $ 18). I’m not sure that I would go there again, but it wasn’t an unpleasant experience.
