Edie’s is our favorite go-to spot for a hearty breakfast or lunch! They make great omelettes(I like mine with pork roll and american cheese) and pancakes for breakfast. For lunch, I love their tomato soup, grilled cheese or turkey club. It’s simple and easy.

Breakfast is not hard. But if you stop to think about it– you probably can name more spots than not, that just don’t do it right. Such is the fate of Edie’s Luncheonette in Little Silver. First time ever that tater tots didn’t excite… probably freezer burn, or old deep fry oil. Home fries were also old/greasy/inedible. Vegetable omelette resembled a super paper thin crêpe with fresh veggies thrown in last minute. My toast was good however :) A dead vibe, bland service, drafty room, bad food, and high prices… Sad to say — Edie’s falls way below the Mendoza line. Never goin’ back…

Breakfast was awesome ! Had a western omelet with English muffin, my husband had #2 breakfast special. Both were tasty and fresh, good portions and fast service. Definitely will be back again

The best of what it is a local breakfast lunch place. The food isn’t fancy but it is perfectly cooked and how fancy do you need your eggs? Chicken salad is all white meat but not dry or with to much mayo. The lentil soup is delicious. I have a pet peeve about browned eggs I don’t like them won’t eat them every egg I have ordered here, scrambled over easy and poached, was cooked perfectly. My husband orders the garbage omelet which is stuffed with fresh everything and just delicious.

Great local spot for breakfast and lunch. Nothing fancy — but decent food. The service is inconsistent — sometimes ok and sometimes horrible. Though, for a luncheonette, expectations aren’t high. We go about once monthly.

Food is good — service is not! I have been here twice and both times found the service to be unfriendly. The first was dine in and the second was carry out. I had to go there to place my carry out order because they were not answering the phone. Then when I brought this to their attention they did not acknowledge it much less apologize. They were very short with me and rude. When I asked about condiments in the bag I was snapped at that they were all in there. This was not the case — 3 of us were dining and there were 2 forks. My daughter had to eat pancakes with her hands. On a good note — their breakfast food is good IF you can put up with rude staff.

I can remember going there in grade school to get Blt’s fries & a coke 40 years go for 2.00 They where good then and still are. :) We go there whenever in the area for breakfast. We used to go all the time when we lived in Red Bank as it was the best option for breakfast in our opinion in the area. Very homey feeling Never rushed. Consistently just plain old good simple food when you dont feel like cooking. Or a great grease fix from a late night out. Great homemade Corn Beef hash with Poached eggs on actually HOT buttered toast Cold toast with cold butter patties on the side is a pet peeve of mine & it should be outlawed(The Broadway Diner now closed). Great omelets, French Toast and Pancakes. Great little spot Quick, friendly and efficient without being rushed. Good coffee and Ice tea. Never had a issue with anything. It can get a little noisy but to be expected. I Like to grab the tables by the windows when available or even sit at the counter. The occasional search for a parking spot on a weekend is no big deal… walk a block It’s good for you.

Nice local place — house converted to restaurant. i tried the Edie’s fries with my one egg and bacon breakfast. They reminded me of waffle fries only better! This is a nice alternative to local diners or chain restaurants. There seem to be a number of «regulars» here.

a local place that’s like having breakfast at grandma’s great omelets, strongly suggest the«everything», and you can’t go wrong with the edie’s fries — although the home fries are good too — did i mention the waffles with fruit. okay i’ll stop. getting hungry this place is busy period. on the weekends seating is tough. parking it tough too. its not cheap like dennys or tons of food like perkins.

I love the food, the place, location, but the service is unfriendly and unpleasant for a local place. The younger blond hair girl who has worked there for years doesn’t smile, say hello, check-back, ask how your food is, offer more coffee, and when you pay she doesn’t say thank you, goodbye or anything. Doesn’t the owner know? It would be so much busier if the service was good! The older woman who has been there for years is also rude sometimes. If you don’t like serving people work at something you do like. Fix the service and double your business, I know some many local woman who won’t go there because of the cold service!

We never got to eat here because my husband wasn’t acknowledge once by the staff here in the ten minutes he stood waiting to inquire about a table for four plus a child. It’s a shame because the reviews on the food are so positive. A small business should be equally concerned with customer service as they are about the product they’re turning out. Sadly I don’t give a damn how great your flap jacks are if you can’t be bothered to acknowledge a waiting party even if it’s just to say«we’ll be right with you».

What a great local spot that comes with a local feel(that’s hard to find now-a-days). Edie’s makes you feel like you are eating with the locals(and you often are). The food isn’t anything to brag about(it’s diner quality food) but the service is a great, the laid back atmosphere is inviting and the quality is a notch up from Denny’s or IHOP(which I’d never eat, too greasy). Come here for a relaxing traditional breakfast and you’ll go home happy.

Were from outta town and found this place via Unilocal and it was great. Quaint little house turned into diner. Portions were large, taste was great, service was good and staff was friendly.

First of all, I have to say I have a soft spot for any place that considers themselves a «luncheonette». It’s such a cute and old timey word but it perfectly describes Edie’s. It seems pretty traditional, with stools around a long counter and a fairly limited selection of dishes. Although I think the variety is actually quite good. I was expecting them to have strictly lunch dishes but I think they served breakfast all day as well. I had the half sandwich and cup of soup and it came out exactly like I imagined. Their soup of the day was an Italian wedding which was very good and came with bow tie noodles. Not very traditional but still tasty and with a good portion of meatballs. As for my sandwich I went with the classic tuna and it was, for me, everything I could have ever hoped for. Probably one of the best tuna sandwiches I have had because it was the perfect ratio of mayo to tuna with just a bit of seasoning and viola. It was simple, which another reviewer mentioned as well… but as though that was a bad thing! The sandwich was literally just bread and tuna salad. No tomato, no lettuce, no onion. To me, this seems like a lunch classic. So simple and plain but sooo delicious. The wheat bread it came on was nice and soft as well(I opted for mine un-toasted) Would definitely, definitely return to this place. Stole a waffle fry from my dining companions as well and they were equally delicious. Wish I lived closer because I would surely be a regular.

What a cool little dive place — perfect for a great breakfast. Has the luncheonette feel of 50 years ago — good service, great food.

I wish this place was closer to me because I’d go much more often, despite how packed this place can be. I had one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had here. The pancakes have this wonderfully delicious texture and flavor, almost like cornbread, but in the best kind of way. Home fries, bacon and eggs are all amazing also. All the food is made with love.

OK, this place is kinda cool. It has nostalgia, helpful servers, and KILLER freakin’ waffle fries! You must get them even if on a diet. Trust me, they won’t kill you and just so much better than most places. I prefer the plain ones over the Edie’s fries, but then again, I hate salty foods, so you may prefer the Edie’s fries. Packed on weekends, so go early or go on week days.

I am not sure how all of these reviews forgot to cover the single most heavenly item on Edie’s menu… THELOBSTERSALADSANDWICH! This is not your everyday lunch plate. This is a cry to the havens to thank them for putting lobsters in the ocean so Edie’s could transform them into the best sammy anyone has ever eaten! I’ve been going here since I was a kid, and this is the ONLY thing I order off of the menu. Served on a hard roll(why would you mess it up with something else?) it’s serves fresh & clean with a crunchy dill pickle and a bag of chips. It’s a somewhat creamy, yet still light and perfect mixture of lobster, mayo, and seasonings. When visiting my family, my tradition is to swing by Edie’s for a take-out version on my way to the airport. This way I can carry it on my flight back to California and have something spectacular mid-flight. If you’re in this little neck of the woods, seek out the counter at Edie’s and saddle up for a cry to the heavens for lobsters.
