Arkansas State Fair & Livestock Show

I enjoy the chance to visit various state and county fairs. Since I happened to be in the area as this one was going on I decided to see it during lunch time. By comparison it is smaller than other fairs. There is basically an extensive Midway, 8 or 9 barns for animals, 1 building for the traveling sales people and not much else. I have been to other fairs that display agriculture and even various student projects like art, photography and shop classes. None of that was here.
There is an arena which displays memorabilia from past concerts there. It included stuff from the band Grand Funk Railroad who that night was going to perform at this fair on a small stage to people in folding chairs while goats are being auctioned in the arena.
It lacked what I believe a true state fair should be. Now I can say I have been there and move on.

One word… DISAPPOINTING! This fair was sad, not one reason to ever go again. We were visiting my dad who lives here in AR and we thought it would be a fun thing to do. Glad it was free to get in. The animal barns were dirty and empty. The one food item I was most excited to eat was the pumpkin funnel cake that they had advertised but NO ONE knew where to get it from. We asked at 2 information booths and they had NO CLUE on anything! Do not waste your time or $$!!!
