Sushi is decent for the neighborhood. Only ordered take out and they are really organized. Somehow I keep going back cause options are limited out here.

Welcoming staff! Seated immediately! Nice mix of the Korean side ban-chans appetizer dishes to start! Service was wonderful! Filled our hot tea without asking and when we asked for cold water, the server brought us cups and a cute carafe of water to pour at our leisure! Nice touch! Ordered the Deluxe Sushi and Sashimi and the Fish was fresh, nice portions and selections! Also enjoyed the Nabe Yaki Udon which was a very nice surprise! Prepared with mussels, had the egg in the soup, a nice selection of vegetables, fish cakes, Udon noodles & the Tempura Shrimp and great broth! Had an overall enjoyable evening!

The staff is friendly enough, so I really wanted to like this place. We called for a semi large party last minute and they were very happy to accommodate us. When we walked in, we were seated immediately. The restaurant was full. That is where everything went downhill. The table was gross — the surface was sticky, as if it hadn’t been wiped down at all. I don’t think I got over this the entire meal. When ordering, I ordered 2 salads along with our appetizers for the table. The waiter failed to mention that we were getting complimentary salads, so The bf and I ended up with too much salad. I was slightly irritated as the salads were not the cheapest and I hate wasting food. When the entrees came, the waiter brought everything out in intervals. By the time everyone at the table had their food, I was still sitting there with an empty plate. After about ten minutes, we flagged down the waiter to ask about my food. He never took down my order. How? I ordered in between two people! He didn’t even apologize. My food finally came out and it was kind of gross. The rice on my rolls was over-seasoned — wet and too sweet. I couldn’t eat it. I ended up picking the fish bits out and just eating that so I didn’t feel like I wasted food. In their defence, the sushi boat was good — but that only says something about the quality of the fish. The bf and my rolls were still awful. They brought us complimentary bean paste soup and complimentary ice cream desserts. But I can’t get over the fact that they missed my entire order. Also there were two servers for the floor but it was so difficult to flag them down. Our tea cups were empty half the time and no one came around to fill them unless we really worked to flag them down. I was really disappointed and would probably avoid coming back. The prices are fair, the food didn’t make me sick, and the staff meant well — so I gave them 2 stars for that.

Love getting the big party patters from here. They make it fast! Give them a call and they have it ready in 30 minutes. It’s around 49.00 for a platter of 100(California rolls). It’s actually one of the best priced in Queens. :) bring a platter to your friend’s next party! You’ll WOW them.

I come here multiple times a year. It’s a decent sushi joint in Queens, not the freshest but I enjoy the food every single time. Service is on point and I love that they give little side dishes before you’re served your food. While I’ve been a customer for years, I don’t come frequently enough for the chef or waiters to remember me. However, they always give me a little extra than my order to try something new which is very nice of them. Everything is nice except how the place looks. They should invest in new tables and chairs.

Enjoyable sushi dinner. Excellent service and nice size sushi pieces. Every attempt made to make dinner enjoyable. All in all a very nice experience. The free appetizers and hot tea is awesome.

This post is about their service and food quality for take out. Ordered food several times, on a random week night or weekends. And all those times, it takes over 45 minutes to pick up 5 rolls and one bento box. They said it’s 25 minutes, but when I arrived I had to wait an additional 20 minutes. The place wasn’t very busy, I just don’t know why it takes them so long. This happened on several occasions picking up for take out. The sushi is good, fresh and generous portions. However their chicken bento box is not up to par. Their chicken was super dry, and not worth the price. Would I order again? Only if I am desperate for sushi. Other than that, I’d much rather go elsewhere for quicker service and better bento box.

They were super welcoming as soon as we walked in. We decided to order the sushi sashimi combo deluxe — the portions were great and very nicely presented. The hostess definitely made an effort to make our night enjoyable. She customized the music to the customers in the restaurant. There was another group in the restaurant with us and we overheard them complimenting their consistent good service. Apparently they’ve been coming here for over 5 years! Not the best grading of sashimi I’ve had but for the price the sushi/sashimi was worth it. I would come back for the service and to relieve my sushi craving

Giving them an extra star bc their food is decent but their service is terrible. I’ve dined in few times which was OK. Ordering takeout however was a horrible experience. The lady who picked up the phone can barely speak English and bc she couldn’t understand my order she told me they were very busy and hung up on me. I had to call back and another person who didn’t speak much English picked up and finally after a lot of «what, what what what what’s «I was able to place my order. Being skeptical of what they understood from my order, I asked him to repeat back my order and give me a total… he kept giving me the address to the restaurant… uhm Yea not a good experience. They were extremely rude about the whole thing too, with a lot of huffing and puffing. I mean it’s not my fault the people who work at the establishment does not speak English.

It was my first time there and it’s a cute small place. We had no wait at 8:30 on a Friday night. We ordered the sushi and sashimi deluxe which was more for food for two ppl. The waitress was very fast in taking our orders and we were given four small appetizers to start. The sushi was pretty good and very generous. Half the sashimi was tuna or salmon, but we did get octopus, sweet shrimp, yellow tail, cuttlefish, and two other types of fish that I didn’t know. wish the waiter told us! The free dessert at the end was a great touch, choice between green tea and red bean ice cream. I took a star off for service because we kept having to ask for more tea and I wish the service was more attentive. We were done for a while before they came over.

Here, you have a nice family-owned restaurant with great food and service. The only downside for me is that it is a bit deeper toward Long Island, but it is well worth the travel. This is a Japanese restaurant with a hint of Korean culture, so you will get ban-chans(4 side dishes) before your meal. Foodwise, their portions are enormous and the sashimi is very fresh!!! We had the sashimi regular, which is to come with at least 15 pieces. When the plate arrived, I thought they had given us the wrong dish! All the sashimi pieces were cut into big chunks and it looked to be way more than 15 pieces. Upon biting into my first piece, I was highly satisfied and amazed at the freshness. All the pieces thereafter were equally fresh and delicious. As for rolls, I had the Godzilla roll and Alex special roll(as recommended by many other Unilocalers). When the rolls arrived, I was astounded by the size. Both were yummy and extremely big portions, once again. At the end of the meal, you even get free ice cream! They offer you either green tea or red bean ^_^. So all in all, you will leave the restaurant feeling full and satisfied. I’ll definitely come back again. PS — I also liked the kind of tea they served – it was a kind of roasted rice green tea type of taste.

I visit this restaurant about once every month for take-out when the flavor of raw fish calls my name. Expect, I don’t usually order the sushi platter, I stick to a Korean interpretation known as «hwae dub bap.» The dish consists of sashimi mixed together with white rice in a bed of lettuce. The platter is accompanied by hot chili paste along with imitation crab and salmon roe. The flavor of the dish is outstanding. The sashimi is fresh, featuring hints of sesame oil along with chewy glutinous rice. The portions of the ingredients, including the sashimi, are also very generous. I previously believed this was the standard across all sushi restaurants. As it turns out, I was sorely mistaken. I recently ordered the same dish at another sushi restaurant in Flushing, I was shocked when I opened the container, to find that the platter was literally 95% lettuce and 5% sashimi. I was even more disappointed that the cost of the dish was $ 18. Given what I received, even a $ 5 price tag would be overpriced. After this experience, I really came to appreciate how much better the dish at Sushi Family really was. The portions at Sushi Family were much more reasonable, the flavor was much richer and the price tag was slightly lower. If you want to sample some unique fusion-flavors, I recommend trying this dish at Sushi Family. I am always satisfied with the hwae dup bap offered here and would probably not even risk trying another restaurant’s rendition of the dish. There is really no reason to venture out to find something that I already know is great at Sushi Family.

Menu: Nothing really stands out and the number of food choices is decent. 3⁄5 Service: Waiters ignore you 80% of the time unless you get out of your seat to walk to the front. At least they are friendly. 2⁄5 Aesthetics: Some parts of the restaurant looks like it was made from scrap. 2⁄5 Food: Exceptional food and very filling. It was a huge surprise to me since the restaurant at first looked run down. 4⁄5 Price: Food worth every buck. In addition to a filling main meal you get a salad, soup, and side dishes that are quite good. 5⁄5 Drinks: Nothing special here. The tea here is decent at least. 3⁄5. Overall: 3.2÷5

They don’t disappoint time and time again. My husband and I have eaten here for over 7 years and that should tell you something. The food is so fresh and good that we keep coming back for more. The place is really small so if you’re thinking of going there prime time you’re sh! t out of luck because you’ll never get a table. I like to order out from here; just pick it up and eat it at home since usually it’s very crowded since the dining area is so small. But if you go during the low key hours then you’ll definitely get a table. Sushi does take a bit of time to make so be prepared for a wait for the food to get to your table. But my goodness is it worth it. You’ll be devouring it up in no time.

Outstanding quality, generous portions, and friendly dine in service. I recently dined in then followed by a take out order a week later. Love this place! I suggest tipping the sushi chefs a few bucks. They will love you back! Since I have only known this shop for 3 weeks, I hesitate to elevate it to my Go-to Japanese takeout spot. But I see it getting there after a couple more orders.

So this place looked awfully familiar when I walked in, little did I know they have a sister restaurant in Flushing. The place was empty on a Sunday afternoon, so service was fast. Quick glance of the menu, they had pricing for lunch and dinner. But lunch special pricing was not valid on the weekends. I ordered a california hand roll and salmon maki roll. The BF ordered a dragon roll and a spicy salmon roll. The rolls are more expensive than typical places, but they are huge. In additional to our rolls, we were given complimentary side dishes(salad with ginger sauce, pickled cucumbers, edamame, fish croquette, and seaweed). Definitely didn’t expect that but then again it’s a Korean owned Japanese restaurant. After asking for the check, the waiter asked which flavor of ice cream we wanted. So, free ice cream too! Not so bad restaurant, but I think it’s more known for its takeout sashimi and sushi platters.

Sushi chef for real? Shashimi was over cut, No sides dishes like the other Korean sushi restaurant and have a B food grade. Fried the leftover sashimi in a egg batter.
